The reason it's taking me a while to think of answers to your questions is that Skobeloff essentially asked "How do I get Garrock to do the two things he [i]really[/i] doesn't want to do?"

Seriously, I can't stress this enough: there's not much that Garrock would rather do less right now than talk to his family. He'd rather single-handedly take on an army of giant spiders than do that.
