Edward/OC
Prelude: Goodbye Lover
“Just go, Bella.” I watched him turn away from me. He was heartbroken. What did he expect me to do? Just wait on him to come back for me? I had fallen for Jacob when Edward left me for so long. My chocolate brown eyes looked over to Jake. He was shaking. My former lover turned to the wolf and I could see the fierceness in his eyes. It scared me slightly, but I didn’t show it. “What did you expect me to do, Edward? Wait on you?” His once beautiful topaz eyes glared at me. I was stunned, not dazzled. “Just… go.” The voice that once whispered my name lovingly oozed with hate. “Goodbye, Edward.” As I walked over to Jake, I saw Edward run off in a blur from the corner of my eye. I told him in our meadow, no, just a meadow. I took Jacob’s hand and left my past behind me.
Chapter One: New Girl
Forks, Washington; I can’t believe my wild parents have decided to settle down here. Mom said it was because Grandma lived here, but I don’t believe her. She simply wanted me to be miserable. “But darling, I thought you were only happy when it rained?” I scowled at her. I use to tell her that when I was depressed. She looked back up towards my dad who just shrugged. They were ex-rockers. Yeah, the parents that every kid wanted because they didn’t care what you did. I wished at times that they had been stricter with me. I probably wouldn’t get into so much trouble if they had been. I just stared out the window as the rain lightly tapped on the glass like a child’s fingertips. Yawning, I could feel my eyelids begin to droop slightly.
I must have dozed because I was awoken by my father picking me up out of the back seat. Being only about a hundred pounds, I wasn’t too heavy. “Mm. We’re here?” I asked, still drowsy. My dad just smiled and nodded. My bright blue eyes scanned over the house. It looked so…simple; Just a white, two story house with a small fence and a decent yard. My lips pursed together in disappointment and that made my dad put me down. “Sorry Dad…I just…I liked our other house so much.” I liked it because they were never there. He nodded, like he knew what I was talking about. My mom just wrapped her arms around me and whispered in my ear, “You’ll be fine.” She then left to help my dad bring things in.
I walked into the house, immediately going upstairs to claim the whole top floor to myself. It was essentially a big bedroom with a full bathroom and a walk in closet. Glancing into the bathroom, I discovered a stand alone shower and a huge Jacuzzi tub. A grin spread across my face. I walked over to the mirror and peered into it. Bright blue eyes, fair skin and black hair peered back at me. I was pretty, I knew that, but I was still worried about going to school tomorrow.
“I see you claimed this room?” I gasped and spun around to see Damon, my older brother, behind me. The corners of my lips turned up in a smile and I ran to the 6’3’’ male. He picked me up and spun me around. “Why are you here?” I asked him, happy to see him. He lived in Port Angeles, so he wasn’t that far away.
“I came by to see if Mom and Dad needed a hand with anything.”
I was happy to hear his voice again. I couldn’t help but smile. “Could you help me with my stuff?” My lips turned into a cute pout and he nodded.
“Let’s go get your bed.” I giggled and took off down the stairs, Damon following close behind me.
It didn’t take long for Damon and I to get my room fixed up how I wanted it. My bed was in the middle of the room, against the back wall. The end tables I had were on either side of my queen sized bed. I had black sheets and a dark purple comforter on the bed with bright throw pillows ranging from pink to lime green all over it. “That’s a really big contrast…” Damon said, raising his thick eyebrow. I just shrugged and went back to my closet. I was putting up my clothes in a very specific way. Stupid OCD… I thought to myself. It was a curse. My clothes had to be a certain way and in a certain order or it would drive me insane. Almost ten minutes later, I walked out of her closet. I spotted Damon, who was hanging my 32’’ plasma television to the wall across from the bed. “Sweet.” I ran and hopped onto my bed, getting ready to turn it on and see how well it worked. Now, I just had to go to school tomorrow…
The next morning, Damon had left earlier to go back to Port Angeles. His fiancée was living with him and she missed him. As for me, I was taking a quick shower when my cell phone rang. “Crap.” I got out and grabbed the pink Motorola Razr. I just had a text from my mom telling me I was going to be late for school. My blue eyes saw the time and I shrieked. “I can’t be late!” Now I was rushing around. Good thing I had my clothes set out. I quickly dried my body off and slipped on all of my clothes. Today’s outfit was a simple black button down shirt and faded torn blue jeans with my black and white stripped socks. The socks could be seen through the holes in my jeans. I slipped on my black shoes and practically flew down the stairs. My mom said something, but I just ignored her. I was half way out of the door when I realized what she said to me. “Honey! We got you a car!” I blinked and turned back to look at her. “A car? Seriously!” I ran to my mother and pretty much tackle-hugged her. She smiled and handed me the keys. “It’s out front. Enjoy baby.” I ran out the door and there the car was. It was a 2008 Chevy LT Aveo. I felt weak in the knees. It was beautiful. Running to it, I quickly opened the door and slipped into the car. The interior was a beautiful tan and the smell, the smell was wonderful. It had a three disc changer CD player and Sirius radio. “This is going to be awesome!” I started the car and backed out of the driveway. I put the car in drive and headed off to school.
Arriving at Forks High School, I parked my new car next to a silver Volvo. It seemed like my car was the…well…fanciest car here. It made me stick out like a sore thumb when I got out. A few guys had walked over to gawk at the car and I just sighed. One of them began to ask me a few questions. He had blond hair spiked out in various directions. “Uhm…I don’t know anything about it. I just got it this morning!” My voice went rather high-pitched and I looked down. “Oh. Sorry. I’m Mike Newton.” He put his hand out for me to shake. Smiling, I shook his hand. “I’m Kasi Grace.” His mouth turned up in a smile.
“It’s my pleasure to meet you Cassie.”
“Uhm…It’s pronounced Casey…and could you call me Grace?”
Mike just nodded and then went back to gawking at my car. I just shook my head and walked towards the office. People were staring at me. I figured it was rare to see a new student here.
Just before I entered the school, I spotted them, The Cullens. There were only two of them. A small girl with pixie cut black hair and him. He was beautiful. His reddish-blond hair fell messily on top of his head. Topaz eyes watched me as I walked by. They took my breath away, literally. The both of them were so pale and both had dark circles under their eyes, like they never slept. As soon as I passed, they went back to talking. I entered the school and my breath came back to me. “Who are they?” I asked myself softly as I walked into the office to get my schedule.
