Aaron - Capital city Arcada, Empire of Haltia, palace, hallways -
Aaron rubbed his eyes after his Advisors left and then got up himself and left from a side door into the hallway. He had been up all night worrying about Leah and the baby. He had heard from one of the nurses that the baby was a healthy young lad, and that his name was Damien.
When Aaron was standing outside of the bedroom he had heard Leah screaming at the nurses to get out. He remembered thinking. “Phew…glad I am not in there at the moment." He smiled at the thought. When he had worked up the courage to go in, Leah had already fallen asleep, most likely from exhaustion. He had sat on the bed for an hour running his hand through her silky brown hair. She looked so peaceful when she slept. He had decided to let her have the bed for that night so he would not wake her in the morning.
It was late in the afternoon and the day was warm, surely Leah would be up by now. He slowly made his way to their bedroom, his black leather boots making no sound on the marble floors. When he reached his room he reached out and pushed it open slowly. Aaron - Capital city Arcada, Empire of Haltia, palace, bedroom -
When Aaron entered the room the lighting was dark, due to the curtains pulled almost shut. He looked at the bed and saw that Leah was not there, when his eyes continued looking he saw her standing over a small crib, with her hand placed on Damien’s cheek. He smiled and walked silently over to her and wrapped his arms under hers and clasped them together over her stomach. His dark silver eyes full of love for this one woman. “How are you my love?" He whispered into her ear. He then kissed her on the side of her head and then held her close to him.
He looked down to his son, Damien… He saw small light silver eyes looking back at the both of them. Aaron then noticed something on Damien’s right arm. It looked like a birthmark but it wrapped around his tiny forearm twice before ending at his elbow. He reached down slowly and lifted his son into his arms. He then looked closer and new that he was not seeing things… “Leah… I think we may have a slight problem…" He looked to her to see her reaction to the mark. Aerandir- Capital city Meloss, kingdom of Melchior, Palace, Throne room -
Aerandir followed the knight to the grand doors and they opened as they just in time so they would not have to stop walking. As they passed the threshold he saw that four men, two on each side of the door had opened it for them. He then looked forward and saw white. The throne room was made up of white marble. There were great arches on the sides of the room to go out onto a balcony that wrapped around the entire room. They were walking upon a crimson carpet that led all the way to the king and Queen’s throne. The knight had stopped ten feet in from the door and looked to Aerandir as if saying to go on.
Aerandir raised an eyebrow and continued walking towards the king, who was standing at the top of a small flight a stairs. The king opened his arms in welcome. “Ah welcome, welcome… sorry to keep you waiting.”
Aerandir bowed his head “It is alright, it gave me time to remember how to act in front of a human king."
The king smiled only slightly at the comment and then said softly, “Oh of course…” He walked down the four steps and asked, “So what does the council of the elves reply to my request for help?”
Aerandir looked back up and said, “The Elvin people offer some of their finest warriors to help you in the war against the empire. But they are few in numbers, it was all they could spare… our race is still not like what it used to be before the dragons."
The king nodded “Still a few Elvin warriors on our battle field would help greatly.” He bowed and said, “Please tell the council that I am truly grateful for their help.”
Aerandir bowed his head again. “I will do so M’lord." He turned, ready to head back to his quarters so he could rest until he heard.
”Please I am not done yet… I was thinking… this war would not end quickly enough if we trying to go through the Empires entire army. So I have decided to form a small squad to help with that. This small squad will go behind enemy lines and attack important targets, targets that would cripple the Empires advancement into my kingdom.”
Aerandir turned around slowly and said softly, “So what does this have to do with me M’lord?" Though he knew the answer already.
”I want you to be the leader of that squad. I have heard that you are already a very hardened veteran in passed wars. Your expertise would benefit greatly there.”
Aerandir thought about it for a moment. “As you wish M’lord." He bowed his head to the king.
The king smiled “Great! You will meet your team tomorrow early in the morning. Good luck!”
Aerandir said nothing but turned and walked out of the throne room. “I’m going to need it.” He said to himself.
