Cid watched the man and the beast enter the room, his eyes flickering between them. Yes, there was animosity there, and yes, it struck him as likely that there would be another war shortly after this one, as the two allies turned on each other... if they made it through this one...
But when they spoke, Cid couldn't keep himself from laughing.
A short chuckle came from his throat first before it turned into a barely stifled laugh, his shoulders shaking with mirth before he grinned and looked to the human who'd spoken. "Ah me oh my," he said dryly, amused, "You two do know how t'pick 'em... ah well. Can't say it doesn't sound like fun." He leaned back in his chair and put his hands behind his head, enjoying himself as he watched the others and watched the rest of the council.

When it begins, you will hear the sound of children screaming-as though from a great distance. A smoking orb of nothing will grow above your bed, and from it will emerge a thousand starving crows. As I slip through the widening maw in my new form, you will catch only a glimpse of my radiance before you are incinerated. Then, as tears of bubbling pitch stream down my face, my dark work will begin.
I will open one of my six mouths, and I will sing the song that ends the Earth.
