The violent hisses reverberated against the stone caves of his den. His mother lay skinned and dead, but not after being brutally rapped and strangled by the larger snake. His father had been killed before he had time to reach the house to try and warn us, leaving me and my older sister to be surprised, slightly angered, and then snuffed out of existence without a second thought. The other clan hadn’t even taken anything, I suppose it was enough just to feel the thrill the rush of getting your way and killing the helpless.
Seph woke up his head pounding as blood slowly dripped into a large crevice in the ground below him. He was strung up, his tail twisted and broken into the knot that was holding him captive. He thought he had died last night, but death was too easy to come by now, now they wanted him to work for it. Keeping him on the brink, that was their high, their ecstasy. “Why, why are you doing this, what about the pact” Their lies, the bold lies that they never intended to keep, blind him and his family from seeing the true betrayal that waited in their futures.
He hung silently the crevice eventually over flowing into the next, and the next. The sun, and the moon eventually blurring into a giant blade that finally gave him the sweet reprieve he had cursed so long for.
His body lay frozen, to the bone. His eyes crept open letting his mind glimpse the new world. His head spun, his feet ached, and he was disorientated, all of which where horrible things for not only the Seraph, but to beings who strayed to close while in his frightened state. He stumbled naked through the street, the normal hustle and bustle not quit awake. His found a card board box and curled his body neatly inside, his flexible body easily retreating into the dark side of the large box marked with strange symbols he could not read. Night turned to day and back, his eyes carefully watching each passer by. He saw and witnessed how they blew each other off, how they made promises they never kept, and how they wasted so much.
He finally emerged form his box after 3 day, his body finally craving food, along with the need for a good wash. He walked into the busy street, his bare body stealing whispers and glance from the citizens of the strange world. He walked into a near my store, its doors sliding open with a welcoming “hiss”, the smell of meat, and blood filling his nostrils.
