The bartender came back to Kel's table, a glass and plate of food in his hands. "Thanks Bronen," she said sweetly as he placed the things in front of her and then, after assuring her that something for Eango would be brought out in a short while, left to continue on with his duties. She only had time to take a sip of her beverage, which was some sort of juice, before her companion batted her with his tail.
~Someone comes, and he smells of magic~ he warned in her mind as lifted his head off the floor to monitor the man more closely. The black tip of his tail began wag as an outward sign of his irritation.
Keladry looked down at her Ahalad-Kaaslane. ~That is a poor way to judge someone in this world, Eango. Most people here have some sort of magic and none have done us any harm~ she chided and then looked up at the man who was know at her table. She listened to his words attentively, a knowing smile gracing her face. She had been in his shoes once upon a time. "I would be glad to answer all of your questions, but first I would like to offer you some food," she stated kindly and pushed her untouched plate at him, plainly ignoring his rather unfriendly tone, "You look half starved."
She took a quick drink before continuing. "This place, Aeolida it's called, is indeed a completely different world from your own," Kel intoned, "It's a universal melting pot. All sorts of beings live here in relative harmony with one another and it has become a cultural gold mine, with everyone sharing and collaborating the ideals of their worlds. Their laws seem just and their court system seems to be quite intent on making sure that things are dealt with fairly and efficiently. I can't really say much more than that because most people who come here don't do so to cau--"
The woman stopped to watch a small Fey examine the man she explaining things to. Her eyes twinkled with mirth, especially when the fairy-being decided to switch her attention to Eango. The cat stared back at her with none of amusement of that his Ahalad-Kaaslane had and after hearing the what the small creature had to say in her broken up way he snorted audibly. ~Hardly~ his mind-voice said indignantly and he laid his head down between his front paws. He looked for all the world like he was pouting and Kel had to stifle a laugh.
"Not exactly," she told the Fey, "I'm as much his as he is mine. Our, ah... souls have been melded together, in a way." She tried to explain it as best as she could, but it was complicated to express in such short terms and she doubted that the little woman would be able to keep up with the long version.
