Drisk was in conflict. The intelligent agile form part of him was telling him to accept the food that the person with the animal had offered, and try to keep on good terms with everyone at this new world... maybe he wouldn't have to go back. The friendly healer form part was telling him to be friends with the person who'd offered him food, as well as the very human-like creatue with the wings. Not that Drisk could really be considered human himself.
Then there was the berserker form part, which was telling him to stay on his guard, and not run away if a fight broke out. Finally, there was the ultimatum form part, which told him how cruel it had been to offer him food, lowering his status to one who needed charity, and it even went as far as to suggest killing her for doing it. As usual, the ultimatum form was the loudest, and hardest to ignore. What Drisk thought himself was almost drowned out in the suggestions of his stronger forms. Although the coldness in his voice remained, it was lessened, and all anger that had been previously evident in his voice was now completely dissipated as he said "I'm not one for accepting people's charity-" Once again his talking with cut off very abruptly by a growl from his stomach, so loud that he could feel the vibration that the sound made throughout his body. Taking a seat in a chair at the table, Drisk blushed slightly and muttered "thank you for the food". He took half of what was on the plate (he was starving, but that doesn't mean he was going to eat someone elses entire plate of food when that person had offered some) and began gobbling down like there was no tommorow. When he had finished, his hunger had been sated, and Drisk introduced himself to the two others (three if you included the animal). This time there was an incredibly thin hint of friendliness in his voice, which even Drisk himself couldn't detect, and it was possible that even he was unaware of it.
"My name is Drisk Kayne. I came here because I touched the nexus on my world because there were rumors that you died if you touched it, dissappearing forever. I had three choices at that point. Die at the hands of my world's government, die of starvation in some old ruins, or die of dissappearing, which sounded much less painful than the other two. So I touched it, and here I am." Drisk then turned to the person who had introduced herself as Yoshe and said "don't think I didn't notice you observing me. I'm considered to be in the top 0.2% most dangerous people in my world, it's probably not a good idea to observe anyone with that little factoid." Well this is kind of weird Drisk thought, why does it feel like I don't hate these people? I've had no trouble hating people and being ignored before, I must be getting rusty, that might be dangerous.
