Lander watched the denizens of the inn, some of whom looked less normal than others, although he had a feeling that the standard for "normal" was quite different here. He watched a short, winged female creature come through the door that looked a lot like myths of fairies he had heard before. Magic on his world was not something that was used by the people, though it was there in the land and there were rumors of strange beasts living in the deeper forests of Lyra. He had met only a few people like him in his lifetime. The majority of them did not mingle with humans. He was surprised to be in a place where he was no longer the strangest person in the room. On his world he would have been picked out of a crowd instantly for what he was because of his bright green eyes. Here, no one had seemed to even notice.
He took a sip of his drink, which tasted strange, spicy and flat, but it tasted like alcohol and that was good enough for him. He wasn't sure yet, but he rather liked this dream. He wondered if he could try going back through the arch the way he came, but he wouldn't do that. Not yet, anyway. If this place really was another world...He sat, thinking things over.
