History: Born and raised in Germany by two parents who had a decent amount of money, one a tailor the other a lawyer, He had no idea what was to come. The war started when he was eleven, when he had no idea what was going on. His father and brothers, who were all older than him, were shipped away to go fight, leaving him alone with his mother. But not for long; a year after they were gone, his mother got a letter saying that all four of them had died. A few days later he was shipped off to boot camp at the ripe age of twelve, barely surviving with the older, stronger men in their primes. They let him choose what weapon he wanted, and he chose the Forgotten War's favorite weapon; the M14. It was old and rusty and barely shot straight. His mentors figured that he wouldn't do good with it and tried to give him an assault rifle, but he refused. Derrick, then fifteen, figured out what made it tick and took it apart. The inside was beyond repair from rain, dirt, and mud. He asked the sergeant if he could have a few parts, and the sergeant agreed; they had no use. Within days he had it up and operational. He has been using it ever since, training and in the war. He favours a ghille suit. He was shipped off to Mars to fight, the place where his family had died. A few weeks after arriving, he lost his right ring finger. Months after that he got a letter saying his mother, the last of his family, had died, and someone had looted the house. He had nothing to lose and began to push further and further against the Zarref.
