The walk to the coffee house was rather uneventful since Kurai was not much of a talker, and Zani would never press him to talk or open up more than he did normally; which wasn’t much. Walking to the counter he ordered his drink first, not bothering to ask what she would order; nor letting her go first. The clerk took too long to reach for the money so Kurai left it on the counters; he already knew its cost and tax so he moved out of the way for Zani to order before sitting. Zani was his happiness reincarnated her answers always much more peppy than his; which depending on how you looked at it could be diminishing her since he could be pretty dark. After they got their orders they sat down at a booth, Kurai sitting facing the door, parallel to Zani; rather than beside her. Taking a sip of the hot green tea with extra sugar, he set it down quietly closing his eyes. “As usual they put 5 ml grams of sugar rather than 10” he said calmly. He didn’t need answer for this, or condenses it was simply a fact. “So what knew Zani, or better yet what not knew since it will no doubt have a longer list” pausing to take another sip he continued his point “Life’s mundane routines are boring me, I no longer need classes; the teacher just repeats half the things she says anyways. What we need is something perceivably more extraordinary.”
