Al had ice plastered in places she never new existed. The ice were a way to alleviate the pain that combating a wild and rabid girl who likes to push people off buildings caused. She sat in their chief's office, exhausted after giving him the report of the high school incident.
The chief had to go talk to someone important and she had to wait her for whatever sentence he decided to give her. She shifted from the stupid armchair designed to make the person on it uncomfortable. She hissed and cursed because it made certain things ache again.
"I hate you. How come you're not hurt?" She demanded of her partner.
"Oh I'm hurting. I'm just not a baby about it. Plus I'm not stupid enough to jump out of a freakin building."
"I didn't jump. I was pushed." she kicked the chair as she tried another position.
"Maybe if you don't sprawl on the chair so much it wouldn't be so uncomfortable."
"Maybe if you minded your own business you'd be getting laid instead of whining to me about me." she snapped. "Too bad though about those kids huh? Earless forever. What happened to that dude who had blood all over him?"
"He's in the hospital for observation. He's not as hurt as we all believed." he sat on the chair opposite her. "I wonder what did that to them? Do you think it has anything to do with all the other missing kids?"
"Maybe. We should ask them again. Let's continue the investigation-"
"Actually, you're not." the chief stepped into his office looking at Al. "You're on mandatory leave. You fell off a building, you're supposed to be recuperating. It's a miracle you're walking."
"What?!?"
