The man was surprised that she moved closer to the knife, but when she jumped back his eyes narrowed and he snickered at her. Even when she grabbed his hair, he was still grinning wickedly. His eyes on fire and his skin also warm to her touch. His hand that didn't hold the knife flashed and grabbed her by the wrist, and squeezed with a strength no human could muster, and twisted her hand and slipped free.
"Thats right, now you understand the threat I am. Or at least you think you do." His wicked grin made him look like some crazed killer that was on the ends of his ropes, even though this man was clearly still sane and ready to prove it. He glanced at Vivian's brother, wondering if he was ever going to step in and intercede, and now that she had told him there were a whole coven of vampires close by, he'd have to be careful. Every fiber of his being wanted to fight this vampire and end its existence forever. But he would have to think quickly in order to do this, not to mention use some of his powers he had learned when he was young.
"You want to finish outside? why? you afraid people will know who you really are and 'try' to kill you and your brothers and sisters? and than you'll have to move to find another source of food?" Every word he spoke was dripping with sarcasm and malcontent. He was visibly shaking, holding back his anger, but he wasn't worried, he could control it.
"I'll fight you on one condition. If I win, I will be able to leave this town unharmed in any way shape or form. And if I loose, you can do whatever you want. Oh yeah, and one more thing. No help from others of your kin." He extended his hand out to her. "So, do we have a deal?"
