Darkness. All was dark.

She opened her eyes.

Green light filled her vision, and she shied from it, turning her head. The motion caused her to realize she was floating in liquid. Green liquid. Soothing, in a way, green... But she knew she wasn't meant to be in liquid--the mask on her face told her that much.

She became aware of wires and tubes connected to her body, but no sooner had she noticed them and begun to think "What the hell is this?"--and they withdrew from her with a dozen pinpoints of pain. She gasped, even as the shock of it passed, the green liquid filling up and healing the tiny wounds, and then drained away. When it was gone, the tube opened, and she pulled the mask off, stumbling out of her womb-like cell.

The cool air sent a chill over her wet body, and when she caught sight of the dressing area, she pulled the towel around her shivering form, leaning against the wall to catch her bearings.

Just a chamber with the tank as its focal point, the door opposite from it. A set of clothes was laid out for her, and she dressed in them, though they reminded her of something slightly repulsive. She couldn't quite place why.

And then it began to sink in. What's going on? Where am I? What am I doing here? She gave herself a hard look in the mirror. Long, silky black hair. Dark, slanted eyes. Mid-tone skin and small build. ......Who am I?!

The only other noticeable item in the entirety of her chamber was a vial labeled, "Drink Me". She picked it up, and, feeling slightly hungry, she threw caution to the wind and sipped at it. The sweet fluid left her feeling energized, and, now ready to face whatever came next, she walked over to the door and raised her hand automatically to the keypad.

Pausing, she looked at her hand, almost touching the pad. How many times have I done this before? she wondered, before letting it down and opening the door.
