Elyandra: Mankinds Hope
After years of warnings, tests and surveys being done, mankind had managed to destroy their own home world. Now desperate for a new home they send out team after team in hopes of finding some where to start a new. This is the tale of the starship Elyandra and its crew as they awaken from their slumber to the alert from the ships computer: They have found a possible home. A planet whose atmosphere can sustain human life, now all they have to do is ensure that its other inhabitants are welcoming to the idea of humans moving onto their planet. Our story begins....
The blaring of the computers alarm sounded and the computer began the process of awakening it crew from statisus pods. Slowly her breathing and heart rate increase until they are once again at normal, her hazel eyes fluttering open just as the lid to her pod opens allowing her to slowly sit up. "Computer status report. How long have we been sleeping?" she says as she rests her face in her hands, her long hair falling forward as she tries to shake off the odd sensation that came from sleeping in an unnatural sleep for so long. "You have been asleep for 31 days, 12 hours, 32 minutes and 21, 22, 23 seconds." The computer replies in a female voice. "Thank you computer. Why were we awaken?" "There is a class B planet that has come into the range of our long range sensors. Approximately 3 earth days away." Angela's excitment rose as she stood up a bit stiffly, stretching out her long athletic frame, every muscle shown due to the simple tank top and shorts she wore. "Awaken the rest of the crew. I'm going to my quarters to shower and dress. I will meet them all in the mess hall for a meal while we discuss our next move." "Yes Captain." the ship simply responds as it begins awakening the rest of the crew. Angela decided to jog to her quarters as a means of stretching her muscles out further the door sliding open as she approached. "Lights" she said simply as she crossed to her bathroom stripping off her clothing as she went. "Shower on. Water hot." she says as she steps into the stall with a sigh of relief as the hot water runs over her tight and tense muscles.
Ten minutes later she was out the shower, drying her hair as she sat at her desk checking the reports that she had been receiving while she slept. The situation on Earth was getting worst and all ships were ordered to work harder at finding them the most minimal planet to sustain life, even is its only for a few months. "Hopefully this planet will be very promising." she says aloud as she gets up crossing to her closet she takes out her uniform with a kind of reverence, her fingers tracing the gold trim on the jacket. With a smile of pride she dons her uniform and then heads to the mess hall to await the rest or her crew.
