Templar threw the empty shotgun through the door, landing on the other passenger seat. He dove into the humvee and closed the door behind him. Manuevering further, he crawled forward and stood up in the hatch space. The machine gun was still there.
His hand slid over a shaft stick out of the side and pulled back. A round ejected out the side and the machine gun accepted the belt fed ammo box next to it. He released the shaft and it slid back with force. It was ready to shoot.
He ducked back down under the hatch and spoke quickly.
"Get us out of here, head west!" He pointed at the small dashboard compass. Then he stood back up, grabbing hold of the machine gun once more.
He pulled the trigger and rounds sped off with aggression into the charging crowd...
