Zephyr fluttered his wings slightly as a shiver of excitement ran through him as the captain complimented him.
"Good job as always Zephyr. I knew that when I selected you as my second that you would more then surpass my hopes."
He blushed heavily, but his species didn't turn red like humans. Instead, the feathers around his neck stood on end and seemed to puff outwards. His beak slightly opened in his version of a beaming smile, and he looked to the floor as the Captain continued to talk. Even if his species blushed like this so openly, it seemed somewhat subtle to anyone else unless they knew what his slight actions meant.
Once three of his crew mates left for the shooting range, The only officers remaining were himself and the Captain.
"Captain, h-how did you sleep?" he asked uncertainly. He glanced out the window at the star scape rushing by, "The ship fared well. Nothing of importance to report."
