She felt her fingernails digging into her palms. This was tougher than she figured. Lydia took in a deep breath and she cleared her mind. Maybe if she just stopped fighting them and she let them in, she could ignore them. This seemed to work for her. She could hear the voices, yet she kept walking with an emotionless look on her face.
One voice stood out. It was the Oldest. He was telling her what she had become. Lydia felt her emotionless face break. Her face twisted in pain. She took in another breath and she fought against the voice. She was more powerful than he would have ever been. She would be more powerful than Aris. That would show anyone who doubted her.
