Rafe lead the way into the restaurant, opening the door for his sister before following her inside. Typical, she'd ignored his gentleman's breeding and headed straight for the counter, already giving her order.
"Family size, please."
F-Family? Rafe went straight to her. "Oi. Are you serious?" Rafe watched her as she nodded, a small frown creased her forehead. Is she taking it back? "It should be enough. I think," Lyca said and smiled at him then. You think?! He turned to the cashier person.
"Oh. And you're paying. I'll go get us a table. Thanks little bro." Lyca walked away heading for a booth that just opened up. Rafe gave up. With a sigh, he handed over his cash and got the plastic number card before following her into the booth.
"So, what brought you to the U? I thought you were doing research somewhere in the world." Lyca asked without preamble as she nibbled on the customary bread sticks a waiter had brought them. "Weren't you somewhere in the world doing research?"
"Greece, sister. I was in Greece." He was a little irked that she cared so little.
Lyca coughed to cover a laugh. It was then that he knew she'd been kidding. Rolling his eyes, he continued, "I finished gathering what I needed. I just felt I needed a break and come visit." He paused then asked, "Are you sure you're alright? You were spaced out when the officers left."
"A break? Or a block?" Lyca asked, ignoring his questions. Her eyebrow lifted as she smirked at him. She knew him all too well. Rafe smiled crookedly at her. His school boy charm positively shining, and he was completely oblivious to it. To think, her little brother, the genius who graduated even before her with her own above average I.Q. and had set the world on fire with his novels was suffering once again from writer's block.
"What was the initial theme this time?"
"Zodiac."
