The Dark Matter War


The Zeroth are only interested in one thing: Dark Matter. Their greed consumes them as they travel from solar system to solar system, draining all of the Dark Matter they find. They are harnessing the material for weapons and to advance their technology even further. But the humans have been harvesting the recourse for a long time to only study it, rather than jump into its devastating effects at first hand. They have learned how to use it for many things. Now that they are in a war, they have applied their knowledge in every way possible and have come up with super weapons of their own to use against the Zeroth. The alien race has finally met an opponent worth fighting.


The Zeroth are in everyway human beings. They are not some ugly life form from old science fiction movies. Their genetic make-up is exactly the same as their enemy. This makes war so much more difficult, knowing that there is not much of your kind left after Earth’ doomsday. Why would want to kill more?


But the Zeroth think differently. They are hostile and aggressive. They will do anything and everything in their power to try and overthrow the survivors of Earth. They employ guerilla tactics. The technology they rely on and produce is used for frontline purposes. This is their weakness. The commanders of the Olympus military are former U.S. generals and still know how to do what America knew best back when Earth was still a thriving planet….covert ops and the ‘eye in the sky’ tactics. Olympians (as the survivors of Earth are now called) employ these tactics against their new enemy and use special surveillance technology to get an edge in battle. Their Alpha Aurora fleet has greatly expanded and use them in key areas throughout the open battlefield of space.

Super Weapons


Each faction has their own super weapon. These devastating devices can be used to turn the tide of a battle. The Zeroth have developed the Anti-Matter bomb, a device that will split the atoms of Dark Matter material to create a shock wave of anti-matter. Once this shock wave of bright energy comes into contact with matter, the anti-matter and matter neutralize each other. One of these incredible devices can wipe out an entire Olympian fleet or….if the Zeroth get lucky….one of the space stations. The device is small and can be carried by hand. But, even though they are conveniently sized, they are not easily produced. Only a handful of these bombs exist, but the Zeroth are eager to produce more.


But the Olympians have developed their own super weapon; an Ion Particle Beam Cannon (or IPBC). This powerful device, once activated, will unleash a powerful continuous particle beam that can cause destruction nearly anywhere. The beam can also be pivoted while it is active. The beam is fired from a highly protected satellite in a top secret location.
