Kelly felt like forcing him to look her directly in the eye, and lecture him, telling him it was impolite to avoid some one's eye when you're speaking to them. However, she managed to refrain from doing so, and instead smiled. "Can I hear your voice then?" she asked, a pleading note revealing itself at the very end of the sentence. She tried to look at him from underneath her eyelashes, as she had done for teachers, and pouted the tiniest bit. It was going overboard, that was for sure, but Kelly found that going overboard did have its uses at certain times. Kelly just hoped this was one of them.
