Okay, this is my first roleplay for this site. It was a thread on my roleplaying forum a while back, but it died when one of the players left and decided to not tell anybody. Anyway, it's a sci-fi war/mystery game set about 130 years from now..

Major advancements in science and technology made in the last century led to the expantion of the human race into space. Individual countries were replaced by world powers, and the United Earth Federation, or UEF, was formed.
Recently, problems have been encountered at a scientific research outpost on Pluto, and contact has been lost. A small recon team, as well as appropriate medical and research staff, has been dispatched aboard the USS Nebuchadnezzar to investigate.


Other than the basics, there really isn't much to cover.
1. PM all profiles to me first. Use Dark Stars as the subject.
2. After you've chosen your position, you get the loadout based on said position. Loadouts will be given in the OOC thread for Dark Stars, found here: http://roleplayerguild.com/f15/dark-...al-thread-1556 Any extras, and that means anything besides the most basic of personal effects, have to be cleared by me. (Believe it or not, there is a reason to this, I'm not just being mean.)
3. In this setting, there have been no alien species discovered as of the beginning of the roleplay. That's why there's no race selection.
4. This is a (mostly) military roleplay. That translates as your characters would have to qualify by military standards, which do include a psyche evaluation. Remember that, please.

Name: Staff Sergeant Brennan "Brenn" Kerr
Age: 28

Height: 5' 11"

Eyes: Grey
Hair: Brown
Appearance: Kerr's hair is in the standard military cut, his body in excellent condition. He has a very orderly demeanor, and can be very intimidating if need be. His skin is slightly pale, a testament to the time he spends in his armor, and his eyes dart about, constantly scanning his surroundings.
Bio: Kerr is a career marine, working his way up the ranks. He's been a sergeant for several years now, dodging as many promotion opportunities as possible so not to be involved with the politicking that is commonplace among the officers.


Name: Corporal Steve Carter.

Hair : Dirty blonde.

Appearance: His skin is a mix of tan and white, and he has rugged dirty blonde hair. His limbs are a bit over-the-top muscular, due to his addiction to training and fitness. His eyes are hidden under his heavy eye-brows, giving him a deep, angry look, even when he is completely calm.

Bio: He's been in the Military his whole life, it was only a matter of time before someone noticed his uncanny ability to get the job done quick and quiet, so he was one of the first picks for this team.

Extra: He doesn't feel anything beyond the mission; Nothing but mission stats, and orders make it beyond the filters in his brain. He's constantly sitting still, concentrating; paying attention to every detail he can, sucking in all the information he can put on a debriefing paper. He wears a hair pin, concealed behind his left ear, which his mother gave him on her death-bed. He never removes it,even when bathing.

Name: Lance Corporal Marcus Bryant

Appearance: Pale skin, Muscular build. Winged dagger tattoed onto his arm.
Bio: English field medical expert from earth. Was originally a field medic in the Royal Marines Commandos, but decided to sign up for the recon team when he got tired of world peace.

Name: Private Markus Kane

Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 110 lbs

Hair: black
Appearance: Markus is lightly tanned and his hair is buzzed short. He has a very slim build and scars from sliding into places most people can't fit.
Bio: Markus Kane was the first child of a mercenary family that perished when he was too young to remember, he was adopted by the second in command of the company and raised as a demolitionist/infiltrationist. At 17 he left the mercenary organization and found his way where he is now after two years of ambling around and receiving various charges of destruction of public property and breaking and entering.

Team: Military Recon, pilot
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 140 lbs.
Eyes: green

Appearance: She keeps her straight hair trimmed to shoulder length that regulations allowed, and her uniforms are kept immaculate. Her skin is pale, and her face is spotted with a light dusting of freckles.
Bio: Christina had grown up the only child in a military family. Her father being a carrer Marine, she joined the Navy as a way to keep herself from following in his footsteps entirely.

Name: Private Jonas Delune
Age: 26
Team: Third class Engineer
Height: 6’02”
Weight: 148 lbs
Eyes: Green
Hair: Dark Brown
Appearance: Pale skin, clear complexion. His hair is kept short and clean cut. Small birthmark on his right wrist. He’s tall and slim but his military training keeps him quite fit. Often seen wearing his favorite jacket and regular jeans, but rarely seen with his glasses. He has a twitch where he’ll pass his hand through his hair when nervous.

Bio: Jonas trained long and hard to become an engineer, but once he received his diploma majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Civil, he chose to enter the ISDF. He chose to join the ISDF because they had the most experienced and capable space faring force, and he had always wanted to go into space. He became a Military Engineer tasked mostly with maintenance and repair of the ships major systems, but he was also trained in combat and in how to maintain ground machinery as well.
He’s been sent with the team to help see what’s gone wrong with the base’s communication system as well as assist in repairing any other system that may have been damaged.

Extra:
Engineering skills give him know-how with most machinery, he also has basic computer skills (can use them but no hacking skills)
He trained in martial arts such as Karate and Tae Kwon Do when he was younger and further practiced them during his military training (not overly strong but he can properly defend himself.)

Name: Private Seamus McCloud
Age: 32
Team: Support Gunner
Appearance: Seamus is tall, about six foot two, with chiseled features and dark hair. He has stubble constantly, and his hair is just as long as regulations allow. He has a few battle scars, and is seldom seen without a cigarette or cigar in his mouth, at least, while not in full gear.
Personality/History: Seamus is a serious man, wholly devoted to the human species. He found out a few years ago that he is infertile, and such, has fierce dedication to military service, claiming he wants to be a "father to the whole damn planet." He is a crack shot, originally trained as SWAT member in Scotland, focused on crowd control; a training that serves him well in his current position. However, he quit the force about ten years ago, to join the Marines; knowing that is where he could do the most good.
