The lush jungle like forest seemed to grow with each rain drop that it came in contact with. The pitter patter of rain drops crashing into the vegetation was a soothing sound for some reason...The ground was quickly becoming muddy and would suck Akaen's black boots within itself and hold a tight grip which made walking difficult. But a good strong jerk and his boots would come free...

Akaen had figured he would explore this unknown territory a little bit, knowledge of his surroundings was his best weapon and at the moment he didn't have that weapon...

The green forest showed little sign of any wild life. Most of the vegetation was untouched or undisturbed...No bite marks or sign of feeding.Maybe it was just this forest? He knelt down beside a green plant that resembled a fern,or a palm branch. It had been plowed over and broken.Something passed this way...Akaen circled the plant looking for any signs of a trail.A small parting in the vegetation suggested that something had passed there not long ago...

Akaen followed the very straight path slowly, keeping one eye on the ground and one eye ahead of him.Something caught his eye on the ground so he halted. His dark green eyes combed the ground and came to rest upon an object that did not belong among the vegetation...He picked it up and examined it...It was cloth, similar in color to the uniform he was wearing."Why would you be all the way out here?"The question tickled Akaen's brain,he realized he could have asked himself the same thing but shrugged off the notion as a second mystery revealed itself in his mind.

He dropped the piece of cloth and returned his attention to the trail. It was to big to be made by a man...Curiosity sparked and Akaen resumed his following of the mysterious trail. He had walked about twenty yards when he stopped...Did I just see something move?...Akaen slowly went to a crouch and looked down the trail threw the underbrush.A bloody corpse lay just ten feet down the trail from where Akaen was.He couldn't tell if it was human or not."Hmmm" He approached the corpse slowly, not making any noise. The wet ground was soundless under his feet and the roar of the rain pouring upon the forest made it almost impossible for him to hear himself breath...

The corpse was human.Man or woman Akaen couldn't tell, the body had been torn to pieces. Its chest and stomach had been sliced and the skin that belonged there was completely missing.A gaping hole in its throat made it hard to tell if this person had died after or during the crash...A small impression in the mud drew Akaen's curious mind.A track. It wasn't human. The rain had washed away most of the track's details, but he knew that it was not human...Then something clicked.Something Akaen hadn't thought of...The cuts, the missing skin and muscle...Maybe there was wild life in this forest?

Akaen turned back down the path where he'd come and left the
area,as quickly and silently as he had entered it...

The crash site was pretty much the same way he had left it.

The information he had gathered would be better kept to himself for the time being....
