City 17 - The Rebel Story Escape [IC]
City 17 is falling apart from the infamous Gordon Freeman and his followers. The citadel which is the main base of the combine faction and the home of the horror gripping city-17 by the second, it seems that Gordon had messed up the teleport machine which is now causing a catastrophic event waiting to happen. Right now, the citadel is no longer high and mighty like it once was, but even so, that doesn't mean the horror will be stopped forever, it seems that once Gordon had destroyed Dr. Breen's (leader of the Combine) machine, it caused a portal rift which is pretty dangerous to humanity and must be stopped as soon as possible.
It Is up to you, the rebels, the resistance against the Combine faction, to stop this portal rift from consuming more than just City-17. But for now you must escape city-17 to White Forest which is located on the out skirts of City-17. It is too late to stop the early wave blast that will promptly dismay everything and anything in City-17...
I will lead you to survival

Combine forces
Civil Protection
Civil Protection officers, referred to in brief as CPs, Metrocops or Metropolice, are essentially the thought police of all urban areas on Earth, including City 17. They keep Citizens in line through use of verbal and physical intimidation and, in some cases, summary execution. City 17's Civil Protection force also patrols the outlying canals for escapees.
City Scanner
The City Scanner, also known as Scanner Type I and often referred to simply as Scanner, is a lightly armored, flying security camera used by the Combine to monitor City 17's (and possibly other cities) residents. Its Synth counterpart is the Shield Scanner.
Combine Advisor
The Combine Advisors are the face of the Combine Empire on Earth, and are possibly the original master race behind the alien empire. In terms of size, an Advisor is about as large as a rhinoceros. They are able to hover, possibly through some form of anti-gravity technology, but most likely some form of telekinesis, as they seem to have some other psychic abilities.
Combine APC
The Armored Personnel Carrier (also known as APC) is a Combine armored transport used by Overwatch and Civil Protection units.
Combine Dropship
The Combine Dropship, or simply Dropship is used by Combine forces to quickly send units to areas they are needed by air.
Combine Gunship
The Combine Gunship, or simply Gunship, is a powerful, autonomous aircraft that combines aspects of an airplane and a helicopter with Synth technology.
Crab Synth
A mini tank with large claws and a pulse cannon, moves kinda fast
Overwatch Soldier
Overwatch Soldiers are intelligent infantry units of the Combine Overwatch. They generally work in squads and have a variety of attack methods. While Civil Protection officers have jurisdiction over the relatively minor affairs of policing the cities and enforcing compliance, Overwatch Soldiers can be found everywhere, and form the backbone of the Combine's military presence on earth. Standard Overwatch Soldiers are the most common soldier variant.
Overwatch Soldiers travel by way of APCs or Dropships. When attacking an area, soldiers are inserted by the latter.
Overwatch Sniper
An overwatch soldier who uses a high powered sniper in buildings, nesting themselves near windows.
Overwatch Elite
The Overwatch Elite are specialized, higher-ranking Overwatch Soldiers. Sporting a distinctive white uniform and helmet with single ocular lens, the Elites are the deadliest of the Combine Overwatch infantry. While all Overwatch units have been transfigured by Combine technology, it is theorized that Overwatch Elite infantry have been altered even further than standard soldiers. Overwatch Elite infantry are similar to standard Overwatch infantry, except for a few key differences.
Hopper Mine
The Hopper Mine is an anti-personnel proximity mines that hop into the air towards the target before exploding, much like a bouncing betty. These mines are carried and deployed by Shield Scanners. They are vaguely dome-shaped with three sharp "legs". When dropped, the mines use these legs to bounce around until they land facing up on a smooth surface. They then jam the legs into the ground, attaching themselves very firmly.
Green: The mine is armed and considers whoever is close to it to be a friend.
Red: The mine is armed and considers whoever is close to it to be an enemy.
Blue: The mine is neutral and has not yet armed itself.
Orange: The mine is in panic mode, having been rooted from the ground (with the gravity gun) and is uncontrollably attempting to re-grip the ground
No light: The mine has not yet been activated.
Hunter-Chopper
Fast and powerful, the Combine Hunter-Chopper is a support aircraft used to provide heavy fire support for Combine forces and, as the name implies, is used for hunting down and destroying resistance fighters and other targets. Like the Combine APC, this vehicle is a conventional human design (resembling certain modern-day designs like Russian Mi-28 Havok or American RAH-66 Comanche), but reimagined by the Combine, using their technology. The most notable change is a large, jet engine-like turbine below the Hunter-Chopper's body, much like that of the Combine Gunship's. Another change is the fact that the rotor tail of the Hunter-Chopper wags back and forth, like a dolphin's tail. This might be a reference to the Eurocopter Dauphin.
The Hunter-Chopper is crewed by two Overwatch Soldiers, a pilot and a gunner.
Manhack
The Manhack (referred to as "viscerator" by the Combine Overwatch, and simply "hacks" by the Citizens and Rebels) is a flying, gyroscope-like device. Manhacks have three razor-sharp blades which constantly spin at extremely high speeds. Their spinning blades produce a high-pitched whirring sound, which often is a good indicator of them being nearby. The blades are powerful enough to cut and break through wooden obstacles, but not stronger materials such as metal or concrete. They are programmed with very little concept of self-preservation, careening off walls and through objects in their single-minded pursuit of their target.
Rollermine
The Rollermine is an electrically charged, spherical device slightly larger than a soccer ball that reacts to movement within a sizable radius. Rollermines are used as offensive and defensive traps by the Combine. As the name implies, they roll towards enemies and electrocute them via close-range electric shocks. Extensively used along the coastal roads, they are deployed from the air by Combine Dropships, in groups of two to four. Upon landing, the mines will remain inert or, if they land on softer terrain like soil or gravel, they will burrow themselves into the ground, remaining almost invisible. When an enemy target is detected, the roller mine will pop out of hiding and roll towards it in a relatively straight line.
Strider
Consisting of a beetle-like carapace and three jointed legs, Striders serve as the Combine's main heavy ground assault unit in Half-Life 2. The three long legs of the Strider are tipped with sharp spikes for impaling targets and clearing debris. While walking about or attacking, Striders produce a host of different, electronic sounding vocalizations, such as growls, groans, whoops, and howls - when killed, they give a mournful cry. In addition, Striders will leak a yellowy substance when damaged and apparently contain a biological cerebral unit that looks very much like a human brain, providing evidence to their being a fusion of living flesh and machine. Individual Striders are often used to patrol off-limits city streets and provide heavy support for groups of soldiers. However, in full-scale military combat, striders are used instead as heavy artillery to destroy all structures in an area as a means of removing all entrenched hostile forces. Striders fit both roles well due to their various weapons and remarkable (considering they are tripods, and extremely large) maneuverability on even the harshest terrain. Despite their height, Striders can crawl through tunnels to chase enemy combatants and "dig" through underground obstacles using their warp cannon.
In wilderness areas, Striders are often accompanied by Hunters which act as escorts to destroy smaller targets. During the Combine offensive against White Forest, Striders are used to destroy the outer buildings surrounding the Resistance base, including the Magnusson Device teleporters.
Striders may also be transported to and from combat zones by dropships. When being transported they will fold their legs into a compact shape that allows them to be transported.
Weaponry
Besides impaling targets with their long legs, Striders are also armed with two ranged weapons. The first is an anti-personnel pulse turret mounted between a pair of compound eyes on the front of the Strider's carapace. The second (and by far more powerful) weapon is a "warp cannon" mounted on the Strider's belly. This cannon not only causes scenic destruction but also inflicts massive splash damage that will vaporize anything in proximity to the area of impact. Prior to the warp cannon's discharge, a thin blue laser indicates where the Strider is aiming and the air surrounding the cannon's barrel will be distorted by a blue aura.
Hunter
The Hunter, originally known as the Mini Strider, is a fast and efficient synth used by Combine forces as a scout and escort. Although possessing less firepower and armor than their larger tripodal cousin, Hunters are much more agile and speedy. A Hunter will normally attempt to engage opponents at medium range, allowing it to fire fléchette rounds with great accuracy. If targets should take cover, Hunters will fire their fléchettes in such a way that their targets will be caught in the splash damage when the fléchettes explode. Fléchette explosions cause a matter vaporization effect similar to dark energy cores. If a target is too far away, the Hunter will often charge to both ram it and close the distance.
It is assumed that Hunters are not particularly well suited to urban combat situations as most of their tactics (which rely on speed, range, and maneuverability) are strongly impaired in close quarters. If multiple Hunters are deployed in the same mission area, they use pack hunting tactics like flanking and suppression fire.
Hunters have occasionally been seen unleashing all its ammo at a target just before death, in the hope of taking its killer with it.
Stalker
The product of extreme, brutal Combine engineering, a Stalker is a human who has had their bodies physically altered by the Combine. Their limbs have been removed, along with most organs, fat, as well as muscle have also been removed and what appear to be metallic augmentations added to parts of their body. A stalker can't talk, and instead can only make roars, most likely because its vocal cords, or perhaps entire larynx, has been removed, as the metallic hole in their throats suggests. For ease of maintenance and to bring a physical dependence on the Combine, the stalker's digestive tract has been removed, resulting in the stalkers surviving solely on a saline solution that the Combine provides. All stalkers appear to come from men, as they have a male facial shape. However, this may simply be a developer oversight. It could also be that their bodies are so radically altered that the entire concept of gender no longer applies to them.
Combine Cremator

One of the combines never seen in the game, cut from hl2 of course. This guy is used to clean up the dead with his flame thrower but since city-17 is on very very high alert, their being used as combat... So how do you want your flesh? well done or crisp? They jog and walk. Nobody can use their flame throwers becuase they just blow up if the Cremator is dead.

Ichthyosaur
Although it is named after the extinct marine reptile group, the Ichthyosaurs, it resembles them only in its carnivorous ecology and its general size. When the Ichthyosaur is first encountered in the chapter Apprehension of Half-Life, a scientist remarks that while he has been told it was hauled from the Challenger Deep in the Pacific Ocean, he is of the opinion that the creature never swam in terrestrial waters until a week before, possibly the time of its arrival at the Black Mesa Research Facility.
Years have past since Black Mesa's war... Now the Ichthyosaur's linger in City-17's waters, sewers, cannels, oceans
They are often placid at first, but quickly become hostile, especially should the player take action against them. The speed and viciousness of the Ichthyosaur make the underwater areas of Half-Life-2 some of the most frightening parts of the game.
