I've made two new images that give a little insight into the CDS infrastructure. The first shows the main hyperspace routes, those most commonly used for commercial and industrial transport, but there are still many more more minor hyperspace routes not shown. The second shows the 'hot banana' of heavy industry in the CDS, much like the hot banana in modern-era Europe. Note that a web of major hyperspace routes has correlated with the development of the hot banana.
