Selpho the Toydarian had been a rather indirect mentor of Evien's, through their dealings and conversations, Evien learned of the ins and outs of the criminal underworld. Often, Evien and Selpho found themselves in the same situation - on the same side, no less.
But this time was different... Evien supposed everything was different now.
"If what you say is true, then Thelak will be at my doorstep in a matter of hours," He said, "He will want guns and men to hold them," Selpho sighed, "This time, Evee, I cannot be your friend... the credits outweigh my heart. And you know that I have other important people to take care of..."
Evien leaned forward, thinking a moment.
"If you were a jedi with planets, armies," His eyes locked with Selpho's, "Gods hunting you... where would you go?"
Selpho smiled wolfishly, "Somewhere dangerous."
"Dangerous?"
"If the Force works as they say, I would fall into the most rampant jungles of the most rampant moon.. and conquer it."
Evien coughed a laugh, "For a criminal, you have wistful aspirations."
"Believe it or not, Evee, I was a child once."
As they laughed, Evien poured himself another drink. He would speak with Selpho at a length, ask him questions he'd held back in stressful times, tell him of jobs gone awry...
Because he didn't think he'd ever see Selpho again.
