Angela sat at the officers table looking at the small screen in her hand, sipping coffee as she read the results from the initial scans of the computer. The noise of her crew bringing a smile to her face as she listened to the speaking in excited tones of the new home they may have discovered. A plate of pancakes and bacon sat in front of her partially eaten as was her habit when she became in grossed in something else. So far all of the scans were proving very promising and once they sent a team down there they could start mapping out regions and setting up structures so as to have a place for the influx of humans that were likely to come once they sent their findings back home.
Looking up she noticed Elliot and watched as he jostled his way in line to get those breakfast burritos he loved so much. He always did that despite his superior rank, he allowed himself to be jostled about like any other member of the crew. That might have been why the crew respected him so much, not letting his rank go to his head like it can to a lot of people. She continued to read this time letters from home, her sister had twins a boy and a girl. This was very good news seeing how birthrates had begun to drop over the past few years, scientists not sure why but sure it had to do something with the current state of the environment. She would have some of her credits wired into an account for her sister to help with the cost of raising healthy children. She had enough to spare seeing how she spent most of her time out in space, where her pay was increased due to it having a hazard rating, not to mention the fact that she was also now a captain. Making a note on the pad to remind herself to do this later she set the screen down and went back to her breakfast as she waited for her officers to join her so that they could begin planning.
