Elliot got a hold of his favorite breakfast, told and listened to a few jokes with a couple of comrads, and then finally managed his way across the mess hall and over to the table that Captian West and Lt. Colonel Jackson were sitting at. He placed his plate down, rather noisely to wake West up from her breakfast eating. "You bring that damn thing everywhere don't you?" he said, pointing her small computer. He finished sitting down in the chair and nodded to Jackson. Elliot picked up his burrito and took a mouthful, enjoying the long awaiting succulent taste.
"So," he said, gulping down that first big bite, "when do we plan on landing? I know we'll get there in three days, but I sure to God hope that we don't have to go through with a bunch of papers and beaurocratic nonsense just to land and start looking at the scenery. Besides, we're desperate to find a home. Sometimes, I think the government just likes to piss people off for the fun of it." He heard a familiar voice behind him and turned around to find his son, Leander, heading towards him. Leander wasn't his son by blood, he was adopted. Elliot knew from the beginning that the poor kid had gone through so much hell with the moving and transfering from orphanage to orphanage that his heart couldn't take just passing him up. Leander was twelve and incredibly smart. His shaggy blond hair lay just over his eyes and his slightly pale skin showed just how nerdy he was. "There he is!" Elliot exclaimed, gald to see him.
Leander came over and sat down in between Elliot and Captain West, whom he secrety had a crush on, despite how much older she was than him. Of course, every kid (no matter age) has a crush on an older some time or other. "Hey, Elliot," he said, keeping his eyes on West's. "Hey Angela..."
