Kinaka stepped lightly out in the arena, his pupils rapidly closing to thin strips of black in the bright sunlight. After the glare subsided he took one quick look around the arena, familiarising himself with the layout before the fight started, he didn't want anything to surprise him. "No obvious traps." He thought to himself, his head tilting back slightly as his nose twitched slightly, sniffing the air . "Hmmm...His scent will be hard to keep a track of with all these people around."

Slowly he stepped out further into the ring of sand, his heavy boots disturbing the terrain, which kicked up into little swirling clouds around his feet. His hair slowly fell in front of his eyes as he walked, a quick flick of his head and the hair was no long a problem, the thick midnight purple hair tucked behind his ear on the right, revealing his face more clearly. A slightly smile played across his lips, the deafening roar of the crowd and then sudden silence was quite humerus to him. The extremes gave the arena an almost ghostly feel, the place now sounded like a graveyard, low whispers echoing around like lost souls watching from behind their respective seats.

His eyes locked onto his opponents, "Cobblehof...hmmm." It was plain to see his adversary was trained in the arcane arts, the scars and burns upon his one hand but not on his other was quite a give-away, many users of magic could only use one hand, unlike Kinaka. He took a glance down to the palms of his gauntlets, both shone like they'd only been polished in the centre of the palm, perfect circles that had been made upon the metal by his air magic. He chuckled slightly to himself and slowly started to walk towards his opponent. However, when his hand reached out towards Kinaka, his pace checked a little and his eyes narrowed trying to fathom what Cobblehof was trying.

The fact they were getting closer to each other suited Kinaka very much, his ranged attacks were limited to only one type and he knew the limitations of it only too well. He stopped a few feet away from Cobblehof and smiled, his teeth standing out quite vividly against his dark skin. He knew what Cobblehof was doing with his hand when he stopped. The dust kicked up by his footfall floated towards his opponent, but reached some sort of barrier and spread lightly across the surface. With startling agility Kinaka's foot dragged across the dusty sand, creating quite a disturbance and stirring up a great cloud of dust that quite clearly showed the invisible barriers limitations. He quickly took note of the apparent limits of the barrier and smiled.

It was clear Kinaka had to make the first move and he would gladly show Cobblehof what he was capable of. Quickly his right hand snatched out to the side quickly, his brand of magic quickly surging with trained purpose as his mind willing his internal energies to do his bidding. A small swirling vacuum was created as the magical energy manipulated the air in the palm of the shining gauntlet. Quickly it drew a large chunk of air from around Kinaka, the dust cloud he created swirling suddenly around his form as the air was drawn in. He knew however that the dust could well be a downfall in his attack and so settled for a smaller compression of air in his palm.

His Years of training had made this attack as quick as it could be at his current level of magical ability, but never-the-less it took a few seconds to draw the air into the ball and contain it in his palm. Kinaka's body twisted slightly as he stopped the intake of air, his right foot planting into the sandy terrain as his arm plunged forwards through the swirling dust towards the magical field in front of him.

The motion was aimed towards the shield at shoulder height and as it closed upon the field his elbow locked and his hand flattened out, attempting to smash to ball against the barrier. If contact happened, he would feel it and allow his magical energy to rapidly dissipate. The reaction of that would be simple, an uncontrolled rapid decompression of air would tear through the surrounding area and nothing not even Kinaka himself could fully protect it's self against an onslaught of the very substance that was everywhere at all times.

Kinaka was well trained though, and his hand would cup against the blast, the gauntlets helping to shield his flesh against the blast, but his body would be buffeted away from where the ball had decompressed and knowing this he had planted his foot so as to control his bodies movement backwards, the terrain would allow enough friction to slide properly and yet slow him steadily.
