But if there's a neutral judge or someone similar, then I like the idea. I'd give it a go.

Not so sure about the character sheet thing. There are thousands of characters on here and any thread that held them all would get massive.
There used to be an Arena section before Mahz switched everything into the experience categories. Walker of Darkness suggested we bring it back not too long ago, but if I remember right, the other members shot it down.
Anyways, to answer the delima in the above quote:

I used to have an Arena thread in that old section. It was called The Random Prize Tournament: Fall 2007....I think.... Anyways, I didn't participate in it myself, but I judged the rounds. I used a scoresheet with different criteria that I was looking for in the contestents. The scores would range from 1-10 or 1-5 for each criteria. The criteria would be posted at the end of each round (which would last for 15 posts). The criteria scores would be totalled and that would determine who's in the lead or who's tied. At the end of three rounds, if there is still a tie between two or more, then there would be a 30-post tie-breaker round and the criteria for that round would become more strict.

So, all-in-all, it's easy to run an RPB, as long as there is a designated judge who is experience in RPBs and who is also not participating in the battle.
