Watching as the dragon morphed into a human being, not just a human, a rather attractive auburn-haired woman, the prince found himself appalled, though his fear for his life was beginning to subside, to be increasingly replaced with indignation and confusion as she ordered him around as if he were some servant. Still, he followed her without a word, more due to his curiosity and respectful demeanor than anything else. Well, my parents, not to mention Victor, always said that I acted more like a servant than a prince, he thought with wry sarcasm.

Structurally, Prince Christopher had to admit that he found the size of this cave impressive. Even for an individual who had grown up in a palace, he found the volume truly amazing for an abode cut from stone. So the legends regarding dragons and treasure are true, he thought as they passed the treasure room. At one point, she asked him if he had any questions. In answer, the young pragmatic prince was just about to open his mouth in order to point out his long list of questions and reservations when the female dragon made it quite obvious that she found his answer inconsequential by continuing before he could respond. He found himself entirely shocked by her words, and not a little indignant at the idea of what she was asking.

Their footsteps echoed down the massive hall and the rather shy prince finally found the words with enough time to put his thoughts in edgewise. He stopped, watching as she did the same, with an incomprehensible expression. “Madam, with all due respect, what rights do you possibly have to simply kidnap me like this? You are treating me as if I were nothing but a rather ignorable servant, which is rather irritating. At least speak to me with respect as an equal, if you must speak with me at all. Furthermore, you must be making an attempt at some sort of ridiculous prank in this capture, and being facetious in actually expecting me to prepare your food and to organize your treasure for you. You cannot possibly expect me to do any favors for a complete stranger who refuses to show any reasoning for her request or any manner of decency in her tone. Apologies madam, but I do believe that I deserve an explanation.” The prince spoke these words with only a slight portion of his indignation becoming revealed through his tone, after all, he was not going to disrespect a lady. Meeting her forest green eyes, the young man waited for a response.
