All things have their end, even cycles guided by fate.

Hyrule is gone, but so are the waters that covered the blessed land. New Hyrule has risen to replace the old and its people returned. We are a blessed people. But something is still wrong. In the far reaches of New Hyrule old evils are beginning to stir again. The Triforce is safe, but the taint of evil remains.

I see or past and our present, but the future is obscured from me. What is the cause of these things I have felt and these images I have seen? Something lurks just out of my sight; something that I can only see if I could look behind my own eyes. This darkness is not of my world, but it is of my world at the same time. I fear for the future and for you. A terrible tragedy is looming and this time I fear we will fail to circumvent it.

- Maldron, Sage of Truth to the King of New Hyrule

Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Joined Destiny. This RP takes place in the land of New Hyrule roughly 200 years after the events of Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Oracle of Seasons/Ages. Hyrule has been reborn in the form of New Hyrule and things couldn’t be better for its residents. Freed from Ganon’s evil they have begun to recapture the power of the ancient hylians and create wonders that wouldn’t have been possible before. There are still monsters and other creatures that sometimes cause problems, but these are quickly taken care of by the hard working knights of Hyrule.

In such an ideal place it’s hard to imagine that disaster is fast approaching. Sections of New Hyrule have been disappearing only to be replaced with places and people that seem familiar, but aren’t what’s supposed to be there. The Sages have looked into the matter and are convinced that this isn’t another twilight incident. Whatever is going on doesn’t change the fact that the monsters are getting more aggressive in preparation for something.

I came up with the idea for this RP after I saw a retrospective on the Zelda series presented by gametrailers.com. It just made sense to me. If you want to know what I’m talking about, then try to find part six and you’ll see what I mean.

As far as the rules go, it’s going to be more of the usual. No ubering, no character control, decent writing, and courtesy to your fellow RPers. If it exists in the Legend of Zelda series, I’ll allow it. Below is the character sheet for anyone interested. Just be sure to get approved by me before you post. I’ll start the main thread when we get a few interested people.

Player: Red Nail

Name: Rasterok

Race: Dragon

Age: 43

Gender: Male

Appearance: Rasterok looks like a normal dragon and is roughly the size of a grown horse. His scales are dark green and his underbelly and wing flaps are white with just a touch of green. He has two brown horns that jut out and up from the back of his head along with a crest that runs from his head to the base of his tail. His eyes are bright blue and disturbingly human like.

Rasterok’s preferred mode of travel is flight, using majestic and graceful swoops and dives. His forelimbs are great wings that let his soar the skies of Hyrule when he needs some time away from his hole in the ground or when he needs to hunt. His powerful hind legs and sharp talons and teeth help him greatly in that respect. When he can’t take to the air, Rasterok is only as fast as a human and a little more cumbersome. He walks on all four legs by tucking his wing flaps tightly to his forelegs to keep them out of the way.

Weapons and gear: The only weapons Rasterok has are his teeth, claws, fiery breath. When Rasterok is in the air he is a deadly and cunning predator that behaves much like an oversized bird of prey; he’ll dive, kill and ascend in one smooth motion. The moblins, however, knew exactly how dangerous Rasterok can be and chained him to several weights and an enchanted muzzle. The weights force Rasterok to trudge along on the ground. In this state all Rasterok can do is attack with his jaws and breathe fire when the leader of the moblins lets him.

As far as other items, Rasterok has none. His rupees have been taken and the one treasure he owned, a rare wind element stone, was taken by the moblin leader. The element was Rasterok’s first big prize from raiding a wind temple in the southern foothills of Death Mountain.

Abilities: Rasterok can breathe jets of flame from his mouth. He has yet to develop any other abilities or skills that other dragons seem to possess.

Personality: Rasterok is a cruel bully. His whole life he’s had to scrape by using whatever means he had available to survive. He sees others as rivals not only for the food that he needs, but for the treasure he’s so fond of. The other dragons made sure to hit the smaller upstart for everything they could while he was growing up.

All Rasterok ever knew was this kind of life, so it’s no surprise that he’s ended up the way he has. Now that he’s mostly grown the prospect of losing everything he’s fought so hard to obtain is completely infuriating. His only real joy in life now that he’s been captured is making the residents of Nakaya village as miserable as he is.

Background: Rasterok broke free of his egg as the only survivor of a clutch of dragon eggs. His mother had long since been poached by hunters and knights from New Hyrule. A lone baby dragon has little chance of surviving in a world filled with monsters, but Rasterok persevered.

Instinctively he sought out other dragons to learn from and be protected by them. This situation was mostly one sided with Rasterok acting as a lowly servant to his cruel masters. After he’d matured enough, Rasterok struck out on his own and carved out a nice little lair for himself near the treacherous Lost Woods. He would have continued the normal cycle of raiding, hunting, and sleeping if a stray tribe of moblins hadn’t found him one night.

If he had been awake, Rasterok would have fought them off easily, but to wake up buried under a pile of thirty moblins was too much even for the young dragon. They chained him up and bought his muzzle from a dark wizard that the tribe had allied themselves to. Their new pet became an effective siege engine and the tribe grew bolder. They turned Rasterok’s lair into their new home and began to plan for an assault on the walls of New Hyrule itself.

Right now they’ve set their sights on a prosperous village named Nakaya. They'll sack it and every other town on the way to their prize.
