Introduction
Welcome to Shattered Blades, an Fate/Stay night inspired roleplaying game. Inspired, thus this isn't a fan roleplay and you don't need to worry if you don't know Fate/Stay night.
This is a traditional roleplay, this means that the game master has the control over the story and will guide the player through the adventure.
I spent six hours writing this up, so I would appreciate if you would read/join/comment/join this RP. Ask questions and spam about the RP in this thread. Pm me the characters.
This RP may differ from what you are used to, but a little change is always nice. Also the actual roleplaying will start when we get the minimum amount of members (5 of each class). Also since this forum doesn't support PM's you may post your characters here.
Settings and theme
Europe - the time of machinery is coming close, and the rich have already access to steam and fire machines. However the mystic shades of the middle ages haven't passed yet, in contrary they are at their peak. Heroes are more active than ever, heroes - also more commonly known as knights, warriors, hunters and fighters. Basically if anyone wants to be a successful warrior they need to come from a Stained Bloodline. Bloodlines which have been stained by either a holy beast or a cursed demon. These give each member with a fighting spirit of their family Traits, and every member has two. These Traits can be special weapons, certain abilities or a certain attack. They have no limits in type, it can be anything. For almost each warrior has these, a knight without these is pretty useless. The battlers who do not have these Traits are called Armless. These men are usually cheap soldiers for armies for they are only significant in groups. An average knight can kill ten Armless having rank C.
Later in our stories Relics are introduced. These are swords from former heroes with legendary rank, who after dying leave a certain amount of soul in their weapon. That is when the weapon becomes a Relic. The weapons have no free will but their wearer does gain access to the legendary abilities of the heroes and a third Trait, called Noble Trait. Such Trait is more powerful than regular Traits and has connection to the hero it belonged to. It usually is the signature move of that warrior and costs an enormous amount of mana. Relics are very rare thus only few can get a hold of them, and even less control them.
Plot
The players are all mercenaries, warriors for money. A certain rich noble has bought a large group of these to kill a heir lord of a hill near his earth. The price for the Heir lords is very high and many mercenaries have came together. However rumors say the castle of the lord is cursed, and none of the previous mercenary groups have returned. Now the fifteenth group is heading towards the castle, which are the players and a few NPC's
The major part of the trip has passed, and destination is near. Do not misunderstand, these mercenaries aren't all thieves and assassins. Mercenaries are soldiers that are payed for money and they usually are Heroes of their own. Many noble and perfect mercenaries exist.
Game
The game master (I) will guide the heroes (players; you) through the campaign. The game master has infinite power and can kill your character off, however if the game master is a good one, he won't abuse his powers. Your character can be killed by other players if the other player has a significant edge in the battle. If the dying player refuses to admit dead, and the outcome of the battle is unavoidable, a game master my interfere. Also certain events can kill players as well stupidity. For instance:

Game master: The corridor is dark... you feel a aura of pain coming out of it. All your senses sharp up, and say that you shouldn't go there. A cry is heard from inside.
Player: Megaman feels the need of proving himself after yesterdays failure, and goes in with a loud battle cry. "Bring me the scum!" he yells.
Game master: Immediately he hears steps and men standing up. Quickly shades further in the corridor are moving towards megaman. He can see that some hold hammers... and axes. They sound insulted and curse at him.
Player: "Fools, my rank is A!" Megaman dashes into the first warrior evading his axe swiftly. One turn and his swords already cut the man into two pieces. Two other huge blokes roar in madness and try to hit him with maces. However Megaman jumps back and aside to evade the attacks. The corridor is small and Megaman reflects from the wall, jumping above the two guys kicking the both. As they all fall Megaman slashes his sword downwards...
Game master: ... and cuts right through them. These men are simple and weak he thinks, and easy defeats any upcoming men... until.
*THUD*
A heavy thing hit your neck... what? What was that?
Red blood flows in front of your eyes blurring your vision...
From behind. Megaman was hit from behind. Entering a dark corridor had his consequences... The men laugh and continue hacking and slashing the already death body of Megaman...

However do not worry, this is only an instance, there won't be people dying constantly. Of course I shall grant you an another character.
You can choose whether to post in past tense of first person or maybe combinations. You may not control other characters, and only minor NPC's.
