For some moments there was nothing. Not a sound from anywhere. Then the life of the forest stirred and the animals began their calls in earnest. Giro had positioned himself with his back to one of the last trees in the forest. Behind him was a clear meadow that led to many things. A traveller who went north would of course come here. A traveller going south would come to the town of Catourel, his intended target. A traveller going west came to farmland owned and tended by the local peasantry, while east led to the mainland of Hyrule. That place was ever thriving and somewhere Giro had never missed, nor did he think he ever would.

A few of the bushes rustled, making Giro raise his sword again. The chances of being followed this far were slim, but still very much possible. Once he had gotten to Catourel he was most certainly safe, but he did not want to go alone. He had had companions, however briefly and however aligned they were. He did not want to see them hurt nor did he want to provide them with no backup at all, but there was little he could have done to battle a dragon and a military style advancing moblin horde. They were not an enemy he liked let alone respected. So Giro waited, hoping that somebody would arrive and that they could move together.

Charging through the bushes, waving to get his attention came a girl. Giro saw her briefly, registered her speed and knelt down in case he would need to catch her to slow her down.
