Hm, nice to see another gun enthusiast, and yet another declaration of the ineffectiveness of the Desert Eagle as a competent weapon. I just thought I'd throw out a few facts.

Tsar recently stated that submachine guns are used in some urban situations because of their lack of wall penetration, and therefore lack of risk of severe collateral damage. This made me remember that many people use shotguns for home-defense for the same reason, as the dispersion of tiny pellets, although devestating to the target, do not individually have the power to penetrate the average outer (or even inner) walls of the average suburban home. Of course, the other reason it's used for home defense is its ability to lay down a lot of firepower in a little time, but that's just the purpose of a shotgun.

The other thing I noticed was when you remarked on the severe volume of firearms, but forgot to mention a very specific detail that is extremely important to the argument. Sound echoes in small, enclosed places. I've heard stories of police accidentally discharging their pistols in their squad cars, the ensuing sound deafening both officers within. This kind of fact is commonly ignored by writers employing the use of firearms, although it would have really sucked if Scarface went deaf after killing the bomber guy in his car.
