What a veritable buffet of unknowing targets, their coin purses ripe for the picking. Nobility, merchants, and other people with considerable wealth all gathered in close vicinity to each other with a seemingly endless supply of zen and amusement value. This, Casidey decided, was why she loved the city so much. There was always something for the curious sneak to stick their nose into. With only a one quick scan of the street she had fished out seven easy targets, just as many obvious pickpockets, two far more discrete thieves, and one bard that would tell much more than fairy tales for the right price. Cas smiled; she was going to enjoy their stay here.

As they delved further into the city it only became harder for her to keep her hands at her sides. One man even bumped into her, the small pouch of zen that hung off his belt grazing her arm. As tempting as it was to just snatch it up at that very instant Casi reined in the desire and continued to walk dutifully behind the others, granted a bit less spirited than before. She wouldn’t steal while with the others for several reasons. For one, she didn’t know how they would react. They all knew she thieved, but knowing it and seeing it were two completely different things. What if someone spotted her and took chase? What would the others do? It wasn’t a situation that she felt was fair to put them in. That wouldn’t, however, stop her from slipping away from the rest of the group to get her fix of impish fun.

She had stayed in Canyon City once before, about two years ago, for month and knew this side of the city fairly well. She couldn’t give directions to very many specific places, but she knew exactly which direction each street led, crossed other streets, and came to a dead end. The latter was far more important when attempting to escape and evade guards. The inn where she had stayed last time, the Crow’s Nest, she found after a little observation of her surroundings, wasn’t all that far away.

She supposed she would go back there for a visit, though after hearing what Laeris and Jakob planned to do she thought it might be worth her time to follow them. She couldn’t decide which would be a funnier picture: Laeris trying to hackle merchants and vendors at sword point, since he had an apparent lacking of social skills, or Jakob getting lost in the labyrinth of streets with every shady person in the city’s walls trying to take advantage of him because he was so obviously out of place in the populated area. Huh… it was a hard choice, but after a moment of debate she decided to go her own way. She didn’t want to be disappointed if the image she had in her head wasn’t nearly as funny as what ended up happening.

“And this is where I must bid you all farewell for now,” Casidey said with a stately bow after they came to the intersection she would turn on to make her way to the Nest, “I’ve a boon or two in which I would like to collect and a few people to visit who would be rather sad if they learned I was here and didn’t stop by and say ‘hello.’” Without giving the others anytime to object or comment she spun around on her heel and was engulfed by the mass of human traffic, disappearing almost instantly from the group’s sight. The effect was reminiscent of someone diving off the side a boat into the swirling waters of a stormy sea.
