Reni took her bag and slipped it off one shoulder, pausing in her steps and stuck her hand into her bag to look for something. It popped out, retrieving a little music player that she could use when she was walking home. A second later she had her bag situated perfectly against her back and her player in her pocket. Though the sound of a voice startled her from her moment of peace, enough that she dropped her little piece of technology onto the ground. The door she had opened had nearly hit him in the process. A hand flew over her heart and the other to her forehead.
"Ez, if I've told you once, I have told you a thousand times. You can't scare me like that, you'll give me a heart attack one of these days." Reni said with a bit of laughter, but that was about all Reni would be able to get out before Ezekiel got that familiar far-off look upon his face and in his eyes. The girl was informed a little bit about what Ez did in his personal life, he hunted vampires but that was about all she knew. Personally, Reni didn't even believe in the creatures. Never had she seen one, and she didn't have proof they existed.
However, the girl never voiced her opinions upon Ez. He was in such a business and he was a bit of a friend of hers, even if she was not a friend of his. A cool breeze brushed by as he took off away from her. Reaching up, her right hand removed the hair tie from her hair and pulled the braid out. The black strands blew freely in the air before she put her earbuds in and turned down a road adjacent to the one that Ezekiel had taken off upon. If she needed help, she would call. But who would harm her this night?
