Reni had reached her apartment and was currently pacing through the living room. The TV was on and was reporting vampires and such all over the news. She was anxious, Ez had not called her back yet and usually it did not take him that long to call her. Then again, he was getting older and of course the older he got the longer it would take him to do something, or at least something in which his business was in.
She had never believed in vampires before, why should she start now? Ah, people were just lunatics in this side of New York City, except Ez. The people on the news were the lunatics, raving about what they had seen. Sighing, she left her bag and took her keys and phone. It was time for her to go check out the scene, see if Ez was still there and hopefully if he was that he was alright. The TV was shut off and she was out the door in less than two minutes, heading back to the block in which she worked at the diner.
Such took a little less than ten minutes for her to walk through the crowds. The sun had set by this point which meant there was a bit of a chill to the air, but this did not bother her, she was more concerned for her friend. There were cops and people crowding outside to see what was going on. A sigh left her lips, gazing around through the people and not seeing him anywhere. The streets were not safe, he had said. Well she could take care of herself...for the most part.
A few more minutes of searching left her even more worried when she didn't find him. Great, Reni thought to herself. He was probably being hauled away by the cops or something. Another scan of the eyes, and by luck she spotted him in the diner. Ez was sitting with some younger woman having a conversation. Irritation swept across her face as she marched up the steps and into the diner. However, she manuevered herself around so she could come up behind him. She didn't greet him, nor introduce herself to whoever the woman was, she just simply said, "Well, it is good to know you are here." Reni would have said 'in one piece' but that might've been something that couldn't be said around strangers.
