Laeris' eyes followed after Casi. He had little desire to leave her unattended in the city, for his concerns were much like her own, just from a different viewpoint. What if she got in trouble, or got caught? No doubt this party would be the one to pull her out of it, and he had little to no desire to fix up any mess she caused. That, and he hardly approved of her thieving ways. Then again, there was still little to nothing he could do about it.

His gaze then took in Derek's departure, though he didn't mind seeing that one go. Not that he didn't like Derek, but he was confident enough that he wouldn't have to barge in and save that one's hide any time soon. It definitely wasn't an issue of not liking any of the ones in their group, truly they all had their uses, and though he'd never admit to it, they did manage to brighten his gloomy countenance every once and a while. What did hamper Laeris' spirits and thoughts was how young they were. How inexperienced to him. Not that he was trying to be cocky, but look at the arsenal that the group had.

Casi. A young upstart of a girl who liked putting her hand into people's pockets and taking things that weren't hers. Well... at least they'd never be short of funds, even if it may not lawfully be theirs. Then there was Derek. Truly a nice guy, but a little too soft hearted for Laeris' preference. He seemed like the type of guy who would rather talk than fight. Which truly was an admirable quality, but not in this world. Then there was Jakob. Now, Laeris actually liked Jakob, but found that the gardener of sorts would probably be more useful as a hired hand then an addition to their mini army. He seemed a little too peaceful for the cause, and face it, garden trowels did not stand up to steel swords. Not that Laeris was the perfect cup of tea himself, which reminded him that tea had been excellent. He'd have to ask Jakob to stock up on the herbs for that one. But Laeris liked to think he had the experience and age under his belt. As well as a fighter's discipline and the years to master it. He knew there was a lot left for even him to hone to perfection, but he still felt like a better candidate than the rest of the troupe.

He flashed Jakob the slightest of smirks, which was really just the corner of his lip twitching up, and his gaze softening by a small bit. "Looks like it's just us left. Yea, I'd like you to come along. It would be better to have two minds taking care of the task. We can still look around if you want. There is no offense intended by my remark, but I'd rather have an eye kept on you... just in case you get lost. You don't seem to frequent places like this much."

He looked disdainfully then at his sand bleached boots, and travel worn clothing with a soft sigh. "I did want to clean up first, but I suppose that can wait. Work first, pleasure later." He finished under his breath before looking up and clapping a hand onto Jakob's shoulder. "Come on, let's start doing the real work hmm? We seem like the only two who are inclined to take care of it." And with that, he started forward into the crowd, though was damn sure he kept an eye and an ear open for Jakob.

[I know Laeris seems like a cocky jerk right now, but eh. He's a former soldier. He has every right to be XD]
