DREAMERS WAKE

Deep in the dreaming realms the great Queen Scathach moans slightly as if something disturbed her sleep. Reaching out through the vast multiverse the Dreaming Queen found what she sought, a small world, orbiting a yellow sun. Peeling away the vast and hoary nature of the world she zeroed in on the disturbance. A being of power, a being conflicted in nature and one who assumed his powers were unmatched, nay were the pinnacle of power within the multiverse.

The great skeletal figure seated upon the black throne watched for aeons before she reached out and touched one of her champions, “Wake my Cughtagh. A disturbance has been felt, go forward to Earth, find the being called Alex. Observe him. Record him, and if he seeks confrontation engage him.”

In the gloom of the vast hall where the Dreaming throne resides, a figure rises slowly from a stone sarcophagus; amethyst energies filled the darkness as the skeletal being knelt before the throne, “As you wish my Queen.”

Summoning a dark destrier from the quantum foam of the Gladhr, Skallagrim mounted the creature and began the long, winding journey through the vast spaces between realities and dreams. The incalculable spaces between worlds, where even the brave take heed, where the tines and twists of dreams intertwine with reality creating a myriad of possible outcomes for every encounter.

The gleaming hooves shredding distances between time and space, creating a ripple as the Dreamer emerged, sundering the fabric of reality, forcing a gateway where the skeletal horse and rider emerged onto a deserted street, of a long dead city. Everywhere a multitude of events occurred as the Dreamer entered the fabric of existence. Reaching out with his aesr, Skallagrim sought the being called Alex, the crafted and created horror of a forgotten god.

Slowly the hooves clacked on the cobbled stones of the street, each step thundered through time, echoing among the living who shuddered during the times the city had inhabitants. Each one felt the cold touch of the Dreamer as he rode through the streets, his gaze touching a thousand points of existence at once. Before him lay a vast ruined structure, once a great gladiatorial arena, the columns broken and scattered. The seating both full and empty at once. Slipping through the bonds of reality, the rider paused in the center of the arena. Before him two warriors engaged in combat paused and looked up to see a mounted figure, glowing amethyst eyes peering down at them, the grinning death’s head a gleaming white that reflected the hot sun. Then the image vanished, as the two men disengaged they stared at each other, then searched the arena as they came to grips with what they had seen.

Sliding from the great destrier, Skallagrim stood in the center of the ring, a fleeting shadow, a misshapen being called a demon, sought refuge from his gaze. “Come to me creature.”

With great trepidation and reluctance the demon peeked around the pillar where it had sought refuge, tattered and wore wings flattened against its scaled back. The slacked jawed beast crouched low and crawled forward a few feet, its mewling voice filled the silent arena.

“Forgive me master, I am merely a lowly servant of great powers. I did not know this was your place, I came seeking what little mischief I could find.”

“Indeed demon, I seek your assistance. Where is this master of demons and shadows, this Alex son of Hades?”

“Mas…master? You seek Alex?”

“Indeed I wish to watch him. To record him as an experience that the Dreamers may understand him. We seek to understand why he is terrible, why he strikes fear into the hearts of those on this world.”

“He fights a girl master…a girl named Ayuna.”

“I see. You are free demon, free to seek what mischief you may.” Skallagrim said as he began searching the vast potentials of realities, seeking the events of Ayuna and Alex. It was at this time the demon chooses to strike, leaping from its crouching position, claws extended.

Skallagrim felt the disturbance of gravity and mass as the being launched itself forward. Stepping to the side, he drew his sword in a smooth move, the keen edge of the blade rose with swift certainty, cleaving the demon in twain. As the blade touched its scaly flesh a howl rang out in the silent arena, cascading through the empty city, a howl that echoed far and wide through space and time. Reverberating deep in the bowls of hell as the demon realized it would not be reforming, that the final death had come to it.

Staring at the smoldering body before him, Skallagrim framed the event in his mind, and then placed it in the vast halls of the Dreamers so all would experience the death of the creature.

The first poster can choose which side East or West where they start. Both fighters will start at the edge of the bridge 100-meters apart. Each fighter can see the other fighter over the distance. Each fighter is aware of the power of the towers. It is up to the fighters to choose to use the power to summon a minion or simply fight it out.

The Divide consists of two five-hundred meter square plateaus, east and west, where the ruins of a city once sat. Connecting the two plateaus is a 100 meter long bridge. The bridge goes over a 1000-meter chasm where a raging river flows out towards the sea. North of the bridge is a mile high cliff face where a waterfall cascades down. General Size: 1100 meters (3,608 feet) long overall length. Each plateau is 500 meters square (5,380 square feet). A single 100-meter tall tower in the center of each plateau which gives a clear view of the bridge.
<input type="button"

 style="max-width:200px;font-size:10px;margin:0 auto;padding:0px;"

Type 1 [T1] combat is a type of textual combat designed with logic, precision and detail in mind. It’s a turn-based style, allowing every player involved equal time and space to post their character’s move. There are four types of ‘turn’ that a player can make in a T1 fight: Prep, Attack, Defense and Connection. The fight is split in to 'tiers' which often consist of some/all of the aforementioned turns. A turn begins when a prep or attack is posted and ends when either a successful defense or connect is posted.

Prepping

A 'prep' is a turn in which the character prepares to launch their attack. Some special abilities require a certain amount of prep's before an attack can be successfully launched. As a player, it is your responsibility to be aware of which abilities require preps and then to adhere to these rules. Missing a single required prep will probably result in Eden's combat judges voiding the applicable tier of the fight.

A prepping move should state clearly what ability is being prepared for use and provide some imaginative description of this process, whether it be an elaborate ritual or a intense concentration etc.

Special abilities that do not require maintained focus/concentration can be combined with another turn. For instance, whilst a mage is launching a non-magical attack with his sword, he might be muttering an incantation in preparation for using a special ability later. Specifics must still be provided.
