Message me if interested. The story is ten years old. Ending it this winter with final season, which is currently underway. Would like a few select players. All races, classes, jobs available. Castes accepting: slave, denizen. No longer accepting citizens/nobility. Message me with questions.

Preview below:

The fallen angel SoraLynn snickered lightly to Ciel's request and nodded slightly. "If the cat will allow herself to be kept, I don't see any reason why not."

The male slave stopped in front of a pair of large double doors. They weren't as regal or large as those of the goddess Hel's throne room of Helheim, but they were impressive nonetheless. He tried to smile and curtsy to SoraLynn and Ciel.

"This be your quarters, ma'Ladies," the slave muttered timidly. "If you require anything, simply ring the bell inside."

He opened the doors to reveal a bedroom fit for a noble. Truly, if this was their new abode, Hel must have some kind of reverence for SoraLynn and her former lord. There were two king-sized beds separated by several meters of crush red carpet. Each side had a walk-in closet, bathroom, dresser, and full-length mirror. On the wall by each of their beds were windows overlooking a courtyard that was half alive with blooming flowers and a running fountain, and half dead with decrepit trees and broken pillars.

SoraLynn stepped into the room and looked around in awe. "Even the room Aphrodi - uh, I mean Mistress Kali, gave me was not this big and wonderful. I haven't had a room like this since..." She stopped in mid-sentence, suddenly remembering...

Centuries Ago...

SoraLynn Abaddon, the 16-year-old High Mistress of the renowned hell dimension Malevora, sat up in her large, lavish oaken bed, her dark hair tussled and matted. She smiled and wiped a spot of drool from the corner of her mouth as she watched her lover, who was also her master, stand and buckle his belt. His back was to her, so his disheveled black hair and many scars were visible. Some of the scars were from whips, others from blades, still others from bullets or other means and mode of torture and war. There was even a claw mark on his right bicep.

Her smile faded slightly, but she'd seen those scars before, and they didn't bother her as much as they used to. She looked over at the radio playing "Bother" by Stone Sour.

The man finished buckling his belt over his black jeans and turned to her. He had a slight five-o'clock shadow around his jowl, as per usual, along with the blade scar that diagonally crossed his entire face, from right temple to left jaw. His green eyes were spared such marring, and glistened beautifully in the candle light. His chiseled abs and arms were pale but not vampire pale. Irish pale. His front was almost just as scarred as his back.

"Tha' was great, aye?" the man said in an Irish accent.

SoraLynn nodded. She got on her knees in the bed and crawled to him. They shared an embrace. "Sir..." She looked up into his concerned eyes.

The empathic man instantly knew what was on her mind. "I won't let the basterd touch ye. He may be the god of Ga'ena, but he'll never know the pleasure an' glory of me kingdom, me precious angel." He smiled down at her, brushing the fallen strand of hair from her eyes.

"But even with 200 powers...with all of the other gods against you..."

The Infamous smirked and stepped back, gesturing around him with a flourish of hand movement. "They can't take this awah from me, Sora. It'll never happen, not in a thousan' yers, love. I be not worried o' baddies from without. It's the serpent in the sheets I must be wary of, yea?"

"Surely --"

"No," The Infamous clarified dismissively. "Not ye, me princess. Tritus is a known traitor an' shalt not soon be released from the infernal prison."

SoraLynn stood up and went to her master. "Then who, Dren? Who in Malevora do you worry about?"

The Irishman grandly indicated the huge bedroom. It looked like it came right out of a Victorian mansion. There was even a big oil painting of The Infamous above the bed.

"Me ally Hades for a start. An' the other gods are not much help; they be neutral, another word for coward. Ye agree aye?"

"Of course, sir."

"But there be others, nay less treacherous than the demons themselves - Rayne and Keller, and I suspect Esperanza would choose her power over her allegiance as well." Dren hit Next on the radio's CD player and "Forever" by Papa Roach came on. He smirked again at SoraLynn. It was their song. "If the Underwar don't go me way and me throne is taken from me...I first shall make sure ye be safe. Yet we perhaps will be separated. But if we ever be separated and ye hear this song..."

The words resonated in SoraLynn's mind as she stood in the middle of the room, catatonic. The flashback played in her mind's eye like a broken record.

"...I be comin' with a vengeance an' God have mercy on ane'body who stands in my way. I always return. Always."

I be comin' with a vengeance - I be comin' - I be comin'...

God have mercy on ane'body who stands in my way - God have mercy - God have mercy...

I always return - Always return. Always.

And then music began playing from an old-fashioned jukebox that looked like it was from the 50's. It was situated between the two windows at the other side of the room. Of course, it was playing their song.

It is centuries after Eragon defeated Galbatorix and he has gone to wander the world with Saphira, searching for answers to the mysteries of the world. Much more is known about Alegaesia than before, because of the wanderings new riders.

Over the years the Riders have flourished and their numbers have grown to more than before the fall and a century before Eragon and Saphira left, they had managed to clear Vroengard of the magical side effects of the last battle of the old riders. The new Riders have now moved back there. Having the dwarves and urgals in their midst adds many more dynamics to the order of Riders than before.

The Elders consist of three of the wisest riders from each race, humans, elves, dwarves and urgals (They are NPC). They run the order in Eragon and Saphira's indefinite absence and have learnt from history and will not make the same mistakes as before. Eragon trusts each of the elders and they all swore in the ancient language to uphold and protect the order. When they left Saphira was about 100 meters from wing to wing, bigger than Shruikan was before he died, and she did not use any magic to accelerate her growth...

You start as a new recruit, with a few-days-old dragon hatching. You are staying in a dormitory type building with other new recruits. Once you have passed your training you will be allowed to get your own house, but for now, you just have your own room. It is big enough to fit a year-old dragon. The building is one of the biggest on Vroengard.

Leaders of the races:
Arya still lives, but stepped down to go and join Eragon and Saphira with Firnen when they left on their wanderings. The queen of the elves is now Aygün.
Bion is the fourth successor of Orik.

Short IC thing. Sorry, no grandiose intro for the IntChk.

"..while the holy grail here is of dubious authenticity, it can grant wishes. Its form varies. It has been a cup and a tree. One time it took the form of a human being....in this place, anything that grants wishes is considered a Holy Grail."

~Archer, Fate/Extra

Once again, the time has come for the Grail to manifest.

The Holy Grail.

One that many had battled after for so long. A powerful creation that is said to be able to grant anything one can desire. However, this is not the grail that was originally constructed by the old magi, but its power to grant wishes is definitely real. And this time, it manifested in modern day London.

But this time, there won't be just seven masters....

What to expect?

This be a Fate rp, meaning it takes place within the Fate universe, with all the servants, masters and all that rot. While there may be more masters similar to Fate/Extra, thus some servants might have the same class, I do not want ALL of them to be saber or something like that. Your Servant will be instead be assigned their classes.

You will control two characters: a Master and a Servant. You have full control over your Master's character sheet, but your Servant will be assigned his/her stats and class. Which does mean you HAVE the freedom of choosing who your servant will be. You can ask for which class you want tho along with two other backup classes incase your main class is taken, but no guarantees given especially if the classes already has people for it.

This will also be High Casual or Advanced, as I want people who won't drop off the face of the earth and stuff.

How about the direction of the RP?

I do have a direction for it, and lots of ideas and stuff. One would be that no one would actually be able to know directly in the OOC who has which servant. Will elaborate more once there are enough people interested.

Will the rules of this Holy Grail war be different?

Yes it will. Due to screening by the Grail itself, only selected people can join, and all servants must be summoned in London itself. People with servants summoned outside of London, cannot in any way join in on the War. Stray Servants will also not able to join in.

Summoning a Servant will be by three methods, simply by doing the ritual, which will give you a servant most suited to your char, a ritual with a general catalyst, which will summon you the servant that is associated with that item, or the most specific, a ritual with an artifact belonging to a certain servant.

Oh, and none of the canon people are allowed in. That means Arthuria, Cu Culain, and other people/servants/whatever that appears in the franchise. Servants will consist of legendary and/or historical figures from various Earth myths, legends, and history books. This means that any historical figure or mythological mortal can qualify as a Servant. Feel free to submit your desired Servant to me via PM, but I may unexpectedly change things, as your Master may not know everything about the Servant he/she is summoning.

Do I need to know about EVERYTHING that is Fate? or the Nasuverse?

Nope. The basics that you need to know is that, you are a magi knowingly or not, and you will summon a Servant, a powerful pokemon legendary/historical figure that will fight for you, and you will have a three part tattoo that is your link to them. Said tatoo also functions as a forced command spell to make your servants do whatever it is you order them, regardless of whether they are willign or not, but it will consume one part of your tatoo. Once all parts are gone or if you lose the tatoo for whatever reason, you will automatically be disqualified for the war or die if another Master wishes to kill you. You will also be disqualified or die if your Servant is killed.

And lastly you will be disqualified and die if you are killed.

So? Any takers/thoughts/suggestions?

Welcome, Dr. ██████

Project Isis

Research Log: Phase Five
1/27/20██

We’ve done it. After so many years, so many failures, the starting phases of this project are finally successful... For the first time, Isis can truly begin.

An unprecedented number of the subjects survived their surgeries during Phase Four. It is certain that the advances in medical technology and increase in budget have allowed for far more acute manipulation, with less invasive methods, and our survival rate has grown to nearly 50%. Needless to say, a massive improvement over my predecessor’s attempts.

Furthermore, the abilities of every single one of our surviving subjects have been augmented considerably, and they can now be prepared to serve our purposes. At this time, we do not believe any of them will require termination.

This is not to say that all has been well, however. With their added strength comes added risk, and specialized security measures have only now been finalized. During their development we have regrettably lost ██ security personnel and █ researchers, which has weakened morale somewhat among both groups, but there have been no further casualties as of late. The containment measures are a resounding success.

We must now prepare for the long haul. As our first initiative, preparations are being made to introduce several of the subjects to each other, with the goal of, basically, “softening them up.”

Stringent, though unseen security measures are being put in place, as this type of interaction has never been attempted before... We do believe it will make the subjects more pliable, but we will not know until we try. Wish us luck.

Onwards and upwards,
(Corollary: Grant’s security protocols for Phase Five)

To: All Security personnel
From: Colonel Arthur Grant, Security Chief

Subject: Protocols. ALL Security Officers MUST READ.

A harsh reminder to everyone liable to forget (here’s looking at you, Benson):

We’re currently containing a number of freaks capable of doing all kinds of messed up things, and this list exists in part to make sure they don’t fuck our lives up beyond repair. All of you are to follow these protocols at all times, no matter what the hell happens.

-These are not children!
I cannot possibly stress this enough. They might look like regular kids, hell, some of them might even act like it, but don’t let yourself be fooled. They’re freaks of nature we’re keeping captive. They’ll use and abuse any leeway you give them, so don’t give them any. If you’re responsible for smuggling supplies to them I swear to God I will shoot you myself.

-They aren’t your friends!
Related point. They don’t want you to like them, they want you to get them out. Don’t fall for it. Once again, if you’re responsible for a security breach on their behalf I WILL shoot you.

-Address them by their numbers!
There’s a reason they have those damn things and that reason is for us to use them. They make sure we’re not inclined to ignore point one and two on this list. I don’t care how friendly the doctors are getting, they are numbers, and you’ll call them that.

-They do not get to meet outside the designated areas!
Book apparently thinks they need a chance to talk to each other. Personally, I completely disagree with him, but he’s the one calling the shots, so I have no choice but to go along. That said, there are only a few very specific places where they will be allowed to interact and those areas are heavily monitored. If you see two or more of them together outside of those areas, call for backup, tranq them and get them back into their cells.

-Don’t take them on alone!
If they start causing problems, do not engage them on your own because you want to prove you’re a badass! People who try that die, especially here. Wait for back-up and/or orders before engaging and act only in self-defense if running isn’t an option. If they’re causing problems, we will deal with it.

-Don’t fuck with them!
As much as I hate to admit, these guys are tough nuts to crack and I really don’t want any of you idiots antagonizing them just to be able to boast to your friends. See points one and two for what I’ll do to you if you do. Fortunately, I have Book backing me up on this, so you know there will be major consequences.

This list is subject to change whenever I deem it necessary.

------------------------------

Alright, welcome to All In Our Minds! Advanced Interest Check thread here.

This idea was originated by Aims, and rebooted by Megafire7, who was in the first game. :) I was in Megafire's game, and now here we are. Full credit goes to them.

It's simple enough on the surface: You are one of a group of children and young adults that were identified to have certain... gifts. Your brains are not like a normal human's. Somehow, they are something more. They grant you abilities that have only before existed in your dreams... Or your nightmares. In their base forms, however, these abilities are weak. Incredible, but only of passing use.

Once you are identified, each of you are systematically kidnapped, your families told that you're dead. From that point on, you are Subjects of Project Isis. Extensive and experimental surgery is practiced on your special brains, propelling them to new heights of power. Only some of you survive. The lucky ones.

You don't know their end goal, but now you are being held in their facility with many others, being tested, studied, prodded and poked. Most of all, you are being contained. Will you escape? Or will the outside world forever be a dream, a memory, a long-lost friend that has abandoned you to die?

Let's find out.

------------------------------

Now then, there are a few guidelines I should probably make known:

-Each Subject is in possession of one gift, one ability based in their brain or their mind. This may seem to be a limitation, but with a little creativity, it is easy to tell that it is not. All of the characters and their special minds will have to be approved by me, so you may PM me to argue a decision, but in general, if I say no, it means no.

-On a similar note, the above pertains to everything within the confines of this game. If I approve your character, but find your posts inadequate, I will let you know immediately, so that we may work it out. If some changes or agreements cannot be made, your character will be dragged off, possibly never to be seen again. It's a hard knock life.

-Because of the nature of the setting, new Subjects can be introduced and old Subjects terminated relatively easily. I will approve every character that I feel will add to the enjoyment of the game, but after a point, all new characters will be delegated to the "waiting room" until they are needed, or an adequate argument as to why they should be in the game can be made.

------------------------------

Finally, a simple skeleton. Note: I would like most, if not all of this information to be given in some way, but I also am more likely to approve a character that is presented in a creative fashion (for example, in an interview, or as part of a security report, with examples). I won't automatically turn away those that simply use the skeleton, of course, but try to come up with something at least a little different.

Subject Number:
(Between 1 and 15. Note: this does not mean that I will be accepting 15 characters at once.)

Gift:
(Again, something based in the mind or the brain. The key, as for everything, is creativity)

Name:

Age:
(15-19 only, with possible exceptions for older characters if they can be argued successfully)

Gender and Self-Identified Sexuality:

Nationality:
(Not completely necessary, but the idea is for a somewhat international set of Subjects)

Personality:
(I know this is unorthodox, but because of the character-interaction focus of the game, I do not want you to write your character's beginning personality here and post it in the thread. I would much prefer a short, general idea of their attitude PMed to me, for approval reasons. And even that is not concrete. Personalities change, and your character's can as well. Do not focus on holding your character to the blurb that you send me. Make them human beings.)

Appearance:
(This is difficult for some, I've learned, but unless there is an absolutely fantastic image that you HAVE to use for your character, I want a written description. And even if there is a picture, I want an explanation of differences between what the character actually looks like and what is portrayed in the image. Just for reference, they are dressed in numbered jumpsuits, but are provided any and all underclothes they require, and the suits can come in a few different colors, so as to remove thoughts of prison uniforms.)

I think that's everything! :) I look forward to your interest, your questions, your PMs, and your characters.

Plot so far~
The White sighed, there was a storm brewing and everything would change this night - she could feel it. The prism was dying, he'd been a good man, but everything comes to an end. They were coming for him, tonight, she was sure. The Order of the Broken Eye, the fabled assassin group, it had been destroyed and reformed innumerable times since the foundation of the Seven Satrapies and tonight they'd make their most daring move in centuries and even the most powerful man in the world was powerless to stop them.

They'd ignored them, thought they could bribe them, at the time other things seemed so much more important - the wonderful gift of foresight. Lighting her pipe she drew in a deep breath, she should have stopped them, nipped them in the bud... Now they were everywhere. The Order possessed powerful cloaks that enabled visibility in all but those versed in Superviolet and Sub-red and, conveniently, the prism had lost both of those. She was safe, she knew it, the order merely needed to kill the Prism to settle this matter, for once in her life she was irrelevant in the scheme of things - the thought saddened her, but she knew it was true. There was a flash, she blanched, yet it was lightning and only lightning... Once she was a force to be reckoned with now, nothing but a frail old woman who acted little more than a servant to the most powerful man in the kingdom.

It didn't matter what she did, how many guards she posted, what precautions she took... The prism was dying tonight; she'd failed herself and she'd failed the world. There was no prism in this generation, none anywhere near as gifted, and so the world's future was in doubt; the death of this once great man would cause untold, irreparable damage, and would mark the age when the God's returned. She was struck by an unfamiliar sensation, her cheek felt wet and, after a cautious hand movement she found a tear... Odd, she thought, having long embraced this idea of futility she found the idea of crying alien; yet she was, not for her sake, but the untold generations to come that had been forsaken under her watch. She heard screams on the higher floors of the tower, the prism was dead by now, stepping out on the balcony she let the heavy rain wash away her sins and clear her face of tears. The world was weeping... At the prisms expense? Sure he was a great man, but no, the tears were not for him they were for children, the civilians, the victims - their fate had been sealed. Onwards she lept, from the balcony of the high tower...

She was a coward, she thought as she fell, she had doomed the world and couldn't even face the repercussions; the problems from hereon in would be those of newer, fresher minds, she hoped, and it was with that faint glimmer of hope she too passed away. Away from the troubles of the world, away from the violence, her death marked a new era... One, that she hoped, wouldn't be the last.

≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎
What is the Lightbringer series? The Lightbringer series comes from a set of high-fantasy books set in an isolated continent in an unknown world. The land is divided into Seven Satrapies (akin to modern-day countries) with each, in turn, answering to The Chromeria and specifically the high council of colours who usually represent the different Satrapies, but it is not uncommon for one country to possess more than one member of their nation and others to have none; furthermore these colours hold their position for life. At the head of this council, and the sole practiced religion, in the known-lands is the prism; a man of unrivaled power that serves to keep the world in balance.

Chromaturgy Magic (less often referred too as Chromaturgy) is based around light and both the visible and invisible spectrum. Those who use magic are called drafters and are able to transform the colour of light into a physical substance (Luxin). Each Luxin possesses different properties and are only limited to the imagination of the wielder. Drafters often wear spectacles representing their colours (barring Sub-red and superviolet) as it acts as a quick source for their colours and allows them to swiftly summon their Luxin whenever required - only the prism is able to split white light. Despite this magic is dangerous, all drafters possess a ring of their respective colours within their eyes that grows outwards as they expend more power and, once this 'halo' reaches its zenith and breaks from the iris the drafter finds himself at the mercy of his colour and is often encouraged to take their life rather than become a hazard to those around them. Another danger is the mental affect of Luxin on people and drafting temporarily causes people to share the vices and virtues of their colour.

The colours, their traits and affects on the wielder are as follows:

Sub-Red Luxin: One of the luxin outside of the visible spectrum, it proves tricky to describe due to its flammability. Sub-Red Luxin does not last once drafted and, instead, turns into fire upon reacting with oxygen. This Luxin is primarily used in siege and warfare however practical uses for it include: drying clothes and warming yourself up on a cold day.

Due to the invisible nature of Sub-Red, it is drafted through heat as opposed to colour like the rest of the spectrum and drafters are able to gain night-vision and the ability to see through walls by looking into the Sub-Red spectrum (think infra-red goggles and the ability to detect heat).

Shown abilities: Throwing fireballs, mostly fire-related things.

Personality traits: Passionate about all things, the most purely emotional of all drafters, the quickest to rage or to cry. Often possess a love for the arts, an impulsive nature and rarely ever find the time to sleep.

Red Luxin: Red Luxin draws on the red light and the colour red in the surrounding area, the Luxin is very gooey, sticky and can either be very tarry and thick or be more akin to gel. Extremely flammable (similar to Sub-Red) it can be used to devastating affect on the battlefield by creating bombs and traps and has few uses outside of battle.

Shown abilities: Using the tar-like substance to stop an opponent from moving, similar abilities to sub-red when detonated.

Personality traits: Quick-tempered, lusty and possess a fondness for destruction, often very warm, inspiring, jovial and powerful!

Orange Luxin: Lubricative, slippery, soapy and oily, Orange Luxin is often used in conjunction with other Luuxins and is very effective in the use of trap-making or building machines. While it has very few combat uses, Orange Luxin allows the projection of emotions from their Luxin to those around them. I.E. coating a building in orange Luxin and projecting a feeling of despair, causing people to avoid that area/demoralize them.

Shown abilities: Able to project emotions from the Luxin produced, can create illusions with this Luxin.

Personality traits: Orange drafters are often artists and generally extremely skilled manipulators, they fully understand the effects of their actions and know how people think entirely.

Yellow Luxin: In it's liquid, more common state, like bubbly, effervescent water, cool to the touch and possibly thicker than water it reverts back into light much faster than any other Luxin. It is often used conjunction with other Luxin as it nourishes its partner Luxin and increases the longevity of it immensely. Yellow Luxin also has the potential to be the strongest/most durable of all Luxin and perfect creation of it causes it to lose all liquidity and instead become the hardest substance known. (Perfect creation of Luxin proves to be near-impossible and is only available to super-chromats*).

Shown abilities: Possibility of creating unbreakable weaponry and structures. Liquid form allows devastating bombs when combined with red Luxin.

Personality traits: Clear-thinkers that balance intelligence and emotions, generally very cheery and wise they prefer to watch and wait - thinkers not doers.

Green Luxin: Rough and has a texture ranging from leather to tree-bark and is also extremely flexible and springy. Green Luxin is one of the most versatile Luxin's and allows the creation of machinery, weaponry, projectiles.

Shown abilities: Engulfing oneself in a Green Luxin aura creating a golem which enhances strength and the ability to block bullets/arrows. Can create powerful projectiles.

Personality traits: Wild, free, flexible and friendly. They often fail to work in a structured regime and while they do not disrespect authority they simply do not recognize it.

Blue Luxin: Smooth, poorly drafted Blue Luxin is like chalk and can break easily, otherwise it is the second strongest Luxin. Most commonly used in direct combat as it allows quick creation of strong shields, weaponry and possibly more versatile than green.

Shown abilities: Creating spear walls, firing off bullet-like projectiles, creation of weaponry and armour.

Personality traits: Orderly, inquisitive, rational, calm. Structure and hierarchy mean everything to blue drafters and they are often mathematicians and other academic professions - they generally prefer ideas and correctness to actual people.

Superviolet Luxin: The weakest and most subtle Luxin, it is the second type to exist outside the visible spectrum. Superviolet Luxin can only be seen by other superviolet drafters and is nigh-on imperceptible. That said it is very weak and frail.

Shown abilities: Creating of thin wires able to be strung up and cut down, otherwise it is mainly used for coded messages, traps and by directing a string of Superviolet Luxin on a target Luxin can be guided to that target on said string and act like a homing missile (good for projectiles).

Personality traits: Superviolet drafters often alienate themselves from those around them, taking a more removed outlook on things. They come across as dispassionate and appreciate irony and sarcasm; viewing people as puzzles to be solved.

Superchromacy and Subchromacy: Superchromacy is the ability to distinguish colours in greater detail than usual, allowing detection of fine variations of color and results in more stable drafting - especially so for yellow-drafters. Subchromacy, however, is the opposite and is someone who has trouble differentiating between at least two colours and is more commonly known as color-blind.

Prism and Balance: The Prism is a man, usually a one-of-a-kind from every generation who possesses the sole ability to split sunlight into its respective colours and control them as he sees fit. The prism is leader of the church and holds nearly unrivaled power (only the colours can oppose him). His main duty is maintaining balance across the spectrum and drafting whichever color is currently out of balance to help restore it. Inability to maintain balance causes catastrophes across the world (An inbalance in red, for example, may cause forest fires or world-wide aggression whereas an imbalance of green might send people mad.) as well as the possibility of resurrecting a 'God' a being of pure Luxin created when their respective light is dominating the others.

≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎

I've been playing around with this idea for a few months, genuinely interested in it and wanted to see if anyone else would be.

Any questions, feel free to PM me and I can clear up any confusions or set things straight for you! ^^

Reading of the book series isn't required if you want to try the roleplay, any problems or terms you don't understand I'd be happy to help explain!

Any help would be gladly appreciated also! ^^

'Ello, RPG! It's been a while.

I come here today with the proposition of a Casual RP based on the Anime "Last Exile." For those of you looking at this thread who haven't seen it, it's steampunk-based and I highly recommend you watch it.

Anyway, this would sort of take place on a separate timeline; Disith and Anatoray make up two of the nations, but instead of the Guild we have Vennor, a third state equal in power to the other two.
With the knowledge that the world of Last Exile is hour-glass shaped with the Grand Stream in the middle, we are going to put all three nations on one side of the hourglass, and the other side will just be the frozen wasteland we saw at the end of the series.

The politics will be ever-changing; leaders from each side will meet and discuss war and peace on a global scale, without the watchful eyes of the Guild. (The Claudia units will be controlled manually.)

Hit me up if you're interested! I will bang out more details later.

Hi, I am wondering if anyone is interested in playing a hero or villain of the DC Universe. I Want to try out a Roleplay taking place in Metropolis and Gotham. The setting as it were is bordered by the Hudson is Gotham City, New Jersey and just side of Yonkers, New York is Metropolis. Many of the rules of the DC Comics apply. However I am tempted to make it an alternate earth like Earth 210 or something to that nature so If rather than have regular universe Olliver Queen/Green Arrow you could have Arrow TV Oliver/Green Arrow "Hood" as he is still known at the end of season one you can... with that being the case you could have Starling City Washington rather than Star City Washington.

Currently it would be a Year One type setting. The heroes and villains would be starting their careers. Villains could even not be Villains yet when the story starts and they could develop to whom they would become.

Currently I am interested in Bruce Wayne and Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot.

The most prestigious prep school for the elite would be Excelsior prep.

if interest rises for this rp I will establish a character sheet when we go into ooc thread. Though I know I would want actors associated with the character. Oddly I am thinking of going with not previously established actors for Bruce/Batman and Cobblepot

I've noticed in my role plays that I tend to either have people abandon the role play before or during game play, OR it just gets too overwhelming for me. . . soo. . . this is going to be a looong work in progress so I don't end up having to let it go or else lose too many players to keep playing until it ends.
-
Without further ado I will actually introduce my concept and what little plot I have for the game so far.
You've played Final Fantasy IV *Well, some of you have*, and alot of JRPGs. Have any of you noticed how small the towns and stuff usually are. I went to an online resource that said that the actual population of the world of Final Fantasy IV was less than 10,000. -_- And the world it'self was less than twice the size of Maryland. In other words, we are talking midget world size for alot of the older style retro towns/cities.
-
I'm not thinking about having an absolutely tiny world like that, but I was thinking of having a certain region of the world available for role playing the nations with smaller countries. Also, we would have to explain why civilization is in it's current state of having technology all the way from the Primal days of man (Cavemen with clubes, etcetera) to the days of the Baroque Era. The days of the Baroque Era, for those of you who don't know yet, are around the 1600-1700's. So, there will be cannons, and minor gun powder weapons available for combat/war.
-
-Also, I was thinking Magic would be equal to a Dungeons and Dragon's style world. . . which would combine some of the situations of a Low Magic setting with a High Magic Setting. First of all, minor and subtle magic will be all over the place. . . sort of like Legend of Zelda. There might be some fairies, non-Human races, and genuinely impossible things that are common place, but they won't be THAT impressive normally. On the other hand, I'll say, only one in 1,000+ people born have any gift for magic use, and out of those, only half pursue their talents, out of those, only half of those actually have a profession like a Wizard of Mage. So in a large town of 4,000 inhabitants, only one of those will be a Wizard.
-
Exceptions to these guidelines exist, but are uncommon, like exceptions are supposed to be. So if you want to have a nation who's strength is powerful magic, I have some guidelines for that as well. Rather than one in ever 1,000+ people being born with the probability of having magical talent, the demographics would be more like 900-100 people per magic user. Anything below 1,000 inhabitants per magic user is classified as a "high magic level" nation.
-
As for Technology, as I mentioned, you can have Paleolithic cave people, and alot of disorganized tribes, or even a mid 18th century style nation at it's highest peak in technology and science.
-
But then you have to explain how your Technology and Science mingles with each-other, and how your society looks like, what daily life is like for your people, both commoners and upper classes, etcetera.
-
As for populations of the countries, I think I will put a cap on populations at 1,000,000 at the start. ((In the start of the role play, the known world is recovering from a horrible plague like the Black Death)) but there has been a black death, which had killed more than half the population of the known world. (You could have had up to 3,000,000 in population in your back-story before the plague).
-
Now, It is possible, since I'm thinking of some kind of a system to start this nation role play, that these nations can all have important distinctions and strengths to set them apart from other nations. For example, the population Cap is at 1,000,000 without any important Strengths spent by a player, but if the player spends a certain amount of points, they could start with up to twice the maximum level of population.
-
Religion: For religion, I'd like to avoid real world near-identical religions, except for those religions where they just don't care. For example, having a religion with a Pope, Cardinals, Bishops, etcetera, is probably not a good idea. But having a religion with "High Priest", "Priest" or something like that is just fine. Detail your most important Holy Day(s), the key historical relevance of your religion, religious practices and most importantly, beliefs, and dogma.
-
The Plot so far:
The world's many millenia of history has been littered with tyrants, wise kings, gods, heroes and monsters. But what of the people? The people suffer, during war, during plague, or simply during the course of their every day lives. It is currently the Age of the Red Dragon. Over half of the population has fallen to the Weeping Death. This plague had nearly brought the countries of Atma to their knees. First, lesions would appear on people's skin, then unbearable itching, then a black mass would appear where the lesions had shown themselves, and finally, the most agonizing symptom of them all. . . crying blood from the tear ducts. . . sometimes, if the victim of the plague lived long enough, blood would sweat from the skin. Either the lungs would collapse, some kind of respiratory infection would kill the victim, or if they lived for too long, they would bleed to death. The plague was so horrendous, even some Royal family members and other leaders were taken from the world by this agonizing disease. Now, it has been years since the plague, but the nations have not recovered.

The title should explain enough. I don't want to use any of the characters from the show. But I am interested in maybe creating a country rock band and the drama through the rise of fandom. We would come from a tiny town in Tennessee or Kentucky or Alabama.. One of those. And we won a show like the voice or something and we just made our first record and now lets see where it goes. I will worry about or band name once I get 2 others interested. I was hoping for a Lynard Skynyrd meets band perry but I will love to take new ideas..

The last transmission that the televisions broadcasted was a warning, looped over and over on a flashing screen.

The virus, by that stage, had completely devastated over a 150 countries; in the weeks leading up to the outbreak in the U.S., the news had reported nothing but the images pouring in. China, India, Africa, Europe, Pakistan. Some were shot on professional cameras, news crews that'd been flown in to cover it. Other footage, shaky, breaking up, had been lifted from the internet.

No one knew what they were dealing with, in the early days. At first the conflicts were brushed off as the gruesome result of over-crowded countries, poorer countries. Third-world problems caused by the daily horror they lived in.

But then it spilled over into developed regions, glittering cities. Beijing. Singapore. Moscow. Berlin. Paris - everyone watched the carnage of Paris, the shining shop-fronts along the Avenue Montaigne smashed in, diamonds and jewellery spilled across the pavement, useless trinkets among the blood and broken glass.

"Que Dieu nous aide tous," The French Prime Minister was steel in that last speech, the flames of Paris burning brightly behind her.

From France it swept to the United Kingdom, London descending into chaos in front of the world.

By then, we knew what we faced.

Cannibal-Corpse, the papers called it. The Living Dead. The Undead. Zombies.

In the U.S., hysteria killed more than the infected did, before it truly began. Marshall law was declared. Cases that were found were cracked down upon swiftly.

People thought they were safe.

When they realized the truth, it was too late. The army units could not fight back the growing swell of infected. For every one they lost, the dead gained another. People abandoned their homes, fled north, fled south, fled anywhere and everywhere they could, trying to get away from the cities, the densely populated areas. Mostly, they just created a trail of living, breathing meals.

Some towns were fortified, closed in. The lucky ones lasted in the initial wave of refugees, undead. Others didn't. The army defended what they could, though the bulk of it closed ranks around the bases and the safe-zones the government declared its' best hope.

Everyone else had to survive the best they could, abandoned by their leaders, the army. Nature. God himself.

welcome to
the dead & the waiting

An interest check. I have zombies on the brain, at the moment (no pun intended). I'm thinking, when we start, the characters will be behind a makeshift stand-off point created by the army, or a part of it anyway. Our characters should have been apart of the same survivor group; people brought together as they fled their town, and others that they picked up along the way. Thus, everyone should know everyone else, even if they don't know each other well.

I'm thinking of either advanced, or casual for this. And to express interest, if you could share your idea for a character, that'd be great (I'm not gonna bother with sheets, for this, not just yet at any rate).

One condition, though: No military types. Civilians only, please and thank-you.
