The OoC (http://roleplayerguild.com/showthread.php?210428-Kisaragi-Academy-%28OoC%29)

You awaken in an unfamiliar room, your sleepy mind not fully...

The OoC

You awaken in an unfamiliar room, your sleepy mind not fully understanding why your parents haven’t come to wake you up yet despite the sun already well and truly being up in the sky. Glancing around the room, you take note of a scattering of belongings that you can vaguely identify as yours. And a few moments later your brain slowly starts to whirl with the hectic events that have taken place over the past few weeks.

If things had gone smoothly last year, you’d probably be getting ready for your first day of college in a few weeks. But unfortunately things hadn’t gone that well. Last year was horrible, school was boring, your personal life went down the drain (further than it already had been in some cases), and your family was…. Well your family were fine… though admittedly, they weren’t very impressed when you dropped out.

Your school wouldn’t let you repeat the year, something about having a negative attitude towards learning, or a unpleasant attitude in general. Either way they seemed intent on keeping you out, and the notion was echoed in all the local schools in your area. Several weeks slipped by, and just as you had given up, a thin envelope arrived in the mail, a fancy flag-like emblem imprinted on the top right hand corner. Your name and address written in cursive gothic handwriting.

Curious, you tear the envelope open, and for a moment, just a flash of a second, an image of a group of kids flashes through your mind. Smiling faces basking in the glow of the evening sunset in some run down park. You try to recall who they were… but before you can recall any of their faces properly, the image is gone. Leaving a strangely nostalgic feeling behind as you look through the letter.

Apparently you’ve succeeded in enrolling yourself into some strange school located in the Pacific, at first you figure it’s someone pulling a prank on you, but after finding not only your student ID card, but also a fully paid for airfare ticket, you decide to ask your relatives to see if they might have pulled a few strings behind your back. But no one seems to know anything about it. After thinking it over for several days you figure why the hell not. It’s not like you’ve got anything else to do this year. So without further ado, you’re off. Suitcase in hand, you board the designated plane.

You arrive an hour past midnight. Your plane arriving on the runway just as another aircraft departs from it. Upon getting off you’re ushered away by some faceless men…. Well actually they did have faces, it’s just that you can’t really remember caring enough to look at them. What you do remember though is being pulled away from the other students and led in the opposite direction. Normally you’d probably have inquired as to what was going on, but you were just too tired, and after you were led to your room, you simply crashed. Slept like a log, and here you are now, having no real idea on what you’re supposed to do.

================Incredibles Part 1 the Meetening===========================

Ellen and Nadine awaited the new arrivals with great interest. They had been summoned here, which in itself was a great honor. It was only the sixth time the avenger's league had done a recruiting drive. This time Ellen was eligible, Nadine as usual was turned down, but special circumstances allowed her to come along. The building itself was a large mostly rectangular facility blending into the snow of the mountains. The exterior had several towers, a few for defense and a single observatory in link with the sister base on the moon. The interior was clean and orderly, importing cleaning drones from japan was one of the best moves, and even then some excess waste was just teleported away. The facilities main functions were being run by the Overseer, a powerful telepath who was able to manage things.

Ellen and Nadine were in the waiting area a large awe inspiring circular sitting room near the lobby. Well Ellen was sitting, Nadine was her dress, a nice formal black attire for the occasion. It seemed they were early. Ellen assured her sister the facility was secure.

Without much fanfare or warning, a shadow passed over the sun, going from north to south. The silly thing about humans was they seldom ever looked up unless given a reason to. Turning, the shadow made sevral lazy, slow right hand turns over the building. Finally satisfied with sizing up the structures, the shadow suddenly dipped down and hit the ground with a small tremor issuing from where the shadow's legs hit the ground. The shadow, or more accuratly, massive adult silver dragon looked down and blinked. Finding an entryway and sighing, the dragon took on the form of a human male and entered. "Greetings, humans." the dragon said, it's voice powerful and deep even in the small frame of a human."Would you kindly tell me how to get to the Avenger's HQ? I fear I may be off course and I have an appointment there momentarily."

"Ah Thunderhead was it, don't be surprised, dragons tend to be rather noticable...The others are waiting for you in here.", said the door guard gesturing to the giant double doors. Despite his words you could hear the trembling fear in his voice. His partner reassured him, "The locals say this one is friendly."

Thunderhead smiled. "And they would be wise to think that, for that's how I am. Thank you for letting me know I am in the correct place." He stepped in and looked around carefully, taking in the space.

The hallway at the entrance held several gun turrets, plasma screens, and other defences. None of which were visible at the present time, though as Thunderhead was a guest none of the defenses were activated. SO besides a feminine sing-sing voice telling him, "Welcome to Avenger's HQ, any hostility towards the HQ base or staff will result in your annihilation, have a nice day."

Ellen heard someone enter. "Who is it sister?", Nadine asked. "Don't know...but merge for now." Nadine allowed herself to be absorbed into Ellen forming them into one being, wherapon Nadine reformed the dress. "Sis, we really need to figure out a good name.", she said to Ellen in her head. "Later, I think the others may have arrived."

Thunderhead entered the waiting room, mostly ignoring the voices that were saying things at him. Looking at the other person in the room, he simply leaned aginst the wall and wondered if he could go back to his normal size and still be somewhat comfortable with room to spare. Eventually, he decided aginst it and continued leaning the wall.

"Hello, are you here for the recruitment as well?", said Ellen/Nadine, thier voices resonating with one another. She looked like a normal human except for the several spots on her body where her skin had turned oily black with glowing green circuitry for veins.

//hot damn grey...that's awesome
//Figured I'd set some... stuff for him from the start ^^

Grey's long intro post--------------------------------------------------------------
Felis Main House---------------------------
"Sire," the vassal said as Zach walked purposefully down the hallway, the walls decorated with flowers, most likely recently picked from the new blossoms in the gardens. It gave the hall a soft background scent that was soothing. Suitable, considering that where it led. Zach hated it. He rarely went there. He rarely headed home, actually.

"I'm not the Head yet," Zach said, giving the man a tired look. He smirked, tipping his head to acknowledge the gentle rebuke as he moved on to his own business. Zach shook his head slowly before heading about his business. It was a door, simple yet ornate. The crest of the house was inlaid on the surface, a pair of glittering yellow gems for eyes. After a breif hesitation, Zach pushed it open.

There was a platform of sort and a single chair in the room. The platform was more of a cross between a bed or gourney and a casket like tank. Inside it, a man lay, though the term man was used loosely, since he had a tail and feline ears. A somewhat viscous pale gold light filled his resting place, with various tubes and wires running for points on his body to a sequence of panels on the wall. Tallin. The True Monarch of the House.

His father.

Zach took the seat and sat for a moment in silence. When he did break it, his tone was completely conversational. "Sorry I haven't visited in a while. I found Librae. It somehow got itself anchored in a sunken ship. Still not sure what set it off, but I had to pull out Piscium to get to it. I think I've gotten the hang of it. Oh, Ra'hael came to visit. He's agreed to take on the contract for my latest design. So another point to the ally table. Loki still holds out against the official recognition thing, and his allies won't act against him, so that's still a dead end.

"Oh, Naim thinks he might have found a way to actually get the purge to work this time, so we'll see how this works out. I still don't think I'm ready to officially keep your seat warm, so Ronon still sits. The major news though, I got recruited for that hero think the humans set up a little before they got you into the tank. Avengers or something like that they call it. I'm considering it. It's a decent foothold on earth. But it means I might not be able to visit for a while. So... rest well, Dad..."

Closing his eyes, he muttered a prayer to the God above before leaving to the new oppurtunity.

At the Base-----------------------------------------------------------

It would have seemed like a trick of the light, but the outline of a circle was there, just standing in empty air for a few breaths. It pulsed, taking on more definition as a sudden much smaller circle appeared about a foot to the left of the center. Five points of light hovered within it; four to the left, one to the right before the thing twisted forty-five degrees, two vertical lines shooting up and down from the disk. The disk seemed to move outwards from the outline, and it all filled in, forming a silver structure, patterned with pale tracings line within, split asymetrically by the lines, ringed with foreign symbols without before the inner patterned segment slid aside as if some sort of airlock.

Behind it, was something different. Not the other side of the snowy field as you would expect, but instead an expensive looking room, mostly obscured by the figure that stepped out of the doorway, for that is what it was, which closed behind him, fading into non-being. He looked mostly human. But there was something about him that set him apart. And it wasn't just his clothing, which was odd in itself. Dark grey pants reaching half way down his calves. Ankles and shins shod in a light silver sleeve above sandaled feet. A sleeveless black tunic with a large baggy light grey collar around his neck, over which a costly looking grey and silver cloak hung. Yellow eyes looked out from the dark skinned, mildly curious expresion as he took it in. "So... this is it, is it?" He graced those around with a look, tipping his head in greeting.

"Iu'beo salvern," Zach said. "Hello."

And then came the portal effect. "High frequency energy forming within pentangle, energy dispersing, organic detected...life signature unknown.", came the happy go lucky AI, "Hello and welcome to the Avengers HQ, please present identification or you will be deleted." A number of gun turrets unfolded from the walls of the rotunda.

"Good to meet you too...", Ellen/Nadine sighed.

He sighed. "Zachariah Locke. How extensive an identification do you desire?"

"Ze-cha-ri-ah Lo-ke, Identity confirmed, welcome to the base, have a nice day...if you are a extraterrestrial, please consider donating a dna sample to the GenoStream...we thank you for your support.", the sing-song voice said.

Thunderhead turned his head to the door, hearing a voice. "We are not alone. Not anymore." He said.

'Relax, the voice is mostly harmless.", Ellen/Nadine said.

"Not the machine." Thunderhead replied. "Another. Familiar."

"You're referring to the recent transfer...are you and he part of the new recruits?", Ellen/Nadine asked.

"I have always said you miss the important thinks when your head is in the rafters," Zach said with a slight smile. "How are you old friend? It's been many months."

"Many months indeed!" Thunderhead said happily seeing his friend. "How have you been, my friend?"

"Thrust into the realm of politics," Zach said with crooked grin.

"I see you two have already met.", Ellen/Nadine said.

"Raised together, one might say," Zach commented. "My father w-is a friend of his. We've maintained loose contact since then."

"Indeed, I was a young adult when we first met. He has been a very good friend ever since. One of the few I shall call a close friend." Thunderhead said proudly.
//When does a dragon hit young adult?
Young adult 51–100
Adult 101–200
//Cool. Zach would have been around 20, so child.

"And how long ago was that?", the twins asked.

"Not that long ago," Zach said, waving a hand as if it were not all that important an issue. "Just about seven, eight score ago."

"Is that all it has been?" Thunderhead said, blinking a little. "Time certainly does fly, does it not?"

"Only when one is having fun and in retrospect," Zach laughed, taking the time to examine the room a bit.

"Seventy, eighty...", Nadine wondered, "That's great...wow, I feel like a kid among you two..." It was far safer to assume everything was true in this crazy world they were now a part of. It was only after Nadine said it that Ellen had to correct her.

Well, a score was double that, twenty years instead of ten, but he didn't bother to comment on that or correct her. It wasn't all that important. "Well, it's true that Nimbi is older based on his society," Zach used the childhood nickname for the dragon as he examined the portraits from afar, "but I am hardly more than a child myself."

Thunderhead rolled his eyes, never liking that name too much. "Indeed, I would be considered an adult. I was only One when I met him."

"I see, still kinda makes me a kid in relation to you two.", Nadine said seperating from Ellen, the half of her body was formed from the same oily black substance with green veins. "Nadine...my sister is rather...enthusiastic when it comes to new people...me, you two intrigue me...", Ellen said. "It's good to meet you...I'm Ellen."
"And I'm Nadine.", Nadine said in her bubbly voice.

Thunderhead smiled. "Only to those who are ageless. I am sure there will be someone closer to your age." He didn't seem to react when he saw the one become two.

"One can only hope...", Ellen said, her voice slightly more robotic than her sister's. "It's not a bad thing, sister.", Nadine said.

Zach stiffened for a moment, then chided himself. Fool. There was no trace of a celestial aura about her. No reason to thing she was from Gemini. They didn't have the monopoly on that ability. No matter how much they would like others to think so. "Marvelous talent," he said in suitable awe. "Nadine and Ellen, was it?"

"It is a pleasure to meet the two of you." Thunderhead said. "Or should that be one of you? No matter. It is still nice to meet you."

"We're almost always together...", Nadine said, "And you two are?" "Charmed to make your aquaintance, may I ask your name sir? Good to meet you Zach, hope Simon didn't bother you much.", Ellen said.

//hm...what should the AI be named?
//Richard.
//but the voice is female
//Programmer glitch.

"You may. I am Thunderhead, Dragon of the North, Guardian of the Winter Frost."

"Spare me the title,s I believe actions speak more than words.", Ellen said. "Though the more grandiose the title, the more impressive those deeds sound.", Nadine said. "We need to get ourselves a better title." Ellen just rolled her eyes.

"You can also call him Nimbi the Puffy," Zach commented blandly.

Nadine giggled, her face morphing as the sound seemed to emnate from elsewhere. Ellen stifled a laugh. "Do you have any other titles?", Nadine asked Zach.

Thunderhead looked at Zach. "You know I do not like that nickname." He reminded the cat.

"That's what makes calling you by it all the more attractive to me," Zach said, smiling slightly. Then he frowned. "I do, but I'd rather not comment on them."
//Thirteenth Monarch of the Felis House, Exiled Ruler, etc is very annoying.
//Fuzzball is less appreciated. Particularly since his fur is sleek now. Still, it's cute and he lets it slide most times. Just not all.
//Vengence for nimbi :D

"Please don't encourage her...", Ellen said just before Zach said stuff. Nadine and Ellen recombined. "Ah, that's better now...", The twins said in unison.

"Well you are one of my few friends. I suppose that is the reason I let you use that... Fuzzball." Thunderhead chuckled, dropping that last word in as an unappricieated nickname.

"Nice to meet you Fuzzball and Nimbi...", the twins said, "It's always good to meet new friends, I hear we're all assigned to the same sector, they still wouldn't tell us much."

"There is a certain flair and attraction to leaving your subordinates questioning," Zach said. "Rather, it's more enticing from the other side, yes. Also, do you intent to parade about with ten tonnes of extra weight all day?" he asked of Nimbi.
//he's in his human form now.
//When did he shift 0.o I must have missed it... Aw well.
//at the entrance
//had to to fit into the place.

"I suppose I could find out..." Thunderhead mused. "Though that would take effort." He shrugged. "Not in the mood for that sort of effort."

"Tell me Ellen, would you enjoy looking up to talk to him?" Zach asked.

"It's technically both of us...", the twins said, "Darn I never actually made a good nickname for both of us combined....But that probably won't be a problem, that ten tonnes is now inside this fine chap...And if you want...not sure if the rotunda can house him at full size, I've heard dragons grow pretty large."

Thunderhead snorted. "Large? Please. Picture something like your 'Godzilla' or something similar. Now think bigger then that. Dragons are the largest creatures to walk this earth."

"That remains to be seen...", the twins said. "Hm...Elena...no...Narena...no...hm...", Nadine said softly.

"He tends to give himself airs like that," Zach commented.

"And you don't?" Thunderhead smiled, looking at his friend.

"It is expect of me," Zach said in a dismissive manner. "I have a reputation attached to my name and rank that need to be filled."

"I'll need work in that department.", Eileen said.

"Ah, the folly of youth," Zach said, smiling graciously at the fused girl. "A reputation can be as much, perhaps more, of a burden than a boon." He'd been forced to grow up quickly.

"I admit, it is refreshing to deal with those younger. Espicially with the work I have been doing lately." Thunderhead said. While he was honoured to have a possible seat on The Council, he was still young and had to use his abilities to prove that he was worthy of listening to.
//And this council is? How does he have a possible seat?
//the ruling body of dragons. He has a possible seat due to not many dragons being older then him in the area. There were three, one of them croaked (well... ascended. Practically). the other is close enough to his age that they're compeating, but they're still younger then most other dragons who are typically 800+
//You need backstory...
//I'll get to it eventually lol

"I guess for simplicity you can call our fused form Eileen...", they said. They were simple compared to these two...well guess it was good to be young. "Guess we'll be working together in the future...", she said.

"Indeed we shall. By the way, there would not happen to be a larger area than this?" Thunderhead asked. "I believe we shouldn't keep secrets from eachother and i am not human as you likely gathered already."

"They told us to wait here...", Eileen, "But I suppose the courtyard up ahead could work..."

"Ahhh, I believe I spotted that while I flew overhead." Thunderhead said. "I must ask you two not to be alarmed when you see my true form."

Zach gave a noncommittal grunt. He didn't particularly like the thought of being put on show. Maybe he could just let Nimbi have his fun and just say no.

"Suppose soon, I'll give what my role is after the show...", Nadine's voice said to them, "You two do know how we got my powers right?", Ellen's voice said. "Nevermind, save it for later...let's watch the show...", their voices recombined.

Thunderhead nodded once and walked outside to the courtyard. Once there, he smiled and dropped the pretense of a human form. Almost instantly, he grew quickly. Scales replaced skin, wings and a tail grew, dull human teeth became sharp dragon teeth as the power flowed into him. The process was finished in less then 15 seconds and he lay on the ground, careful not to crush anything. He lay down with his head over his forepaws, belly touching the ground.

"Amazing...I've never seen a real dragon before...", Nadine said in amazement. "Most impressive, Nimbi...", Ellen said. "How is it that you have a human form?", they asked in unison.

"Little trick dragonkind picked up about the time of the Middle Ages." Thunderhead explained. "The excess energy that our bodies produce is used to fuel it both ways and dragons generate far more energy then they need. It's how we form breath weapons as well."

Zach rolled his eyes. That 'little trick', as he put it, might have been the only thing that kept the dragons from being wiped out in Europe. Asian dragons had a bit more mystic to them, so they weren't as badly targetted. (Of course, the Dragon Feifdom claimed some responsibility too, but part of the job description for Great Houses was to be attention mongering credit seekers.

"That's interesting, guess there should be no secrets between us...", Eileen said as she seperated into Ellen and Nadine. "Suppose you're wondering how I do that...", she said, feeling ever to small compared to the huge dragon.

"It is curious, I'll admit." Thunderhead said.

"My body's been merged with nanites, allowing us to seperate...you know we were born together, two heads for one body...did everything together...", Ellen said. "The nanites began trying to improve us, seperate us...Ellen mastered one application of the stuff, while I figured out another...", Nadine said, "These things can replicate any sort of technology or form...I've learned to control it..."

"Nanite... Nanite..." Thunderhead repeated. "Is that... a form of nanny? I am unfamiliar with that word."

"He does not really follow technology," Zach said simply. "Something of a mountain hermit, he is."

"And you are any different?", Ellen asked. "Don't worry about it, mr. dragon, if it helps just think of it like magic.", Nadine said.

"There is a distinction between magic and technology," Zach pointed out. "Granted, the lines do tend to blur, since magic can be developed into it's own form of technology. I recall my first trip here. Scared a few locals, that I did."

"If I will be with you and your usage of technology for the next little while, it will be very educational for me." Thunderhead said smiling. "One is never too old to learn new things. As for scaring the locals, well... That's something all of us will likely do."

"They thought my altin was evil," Zach sighed. And that was just a little over a century ago. "And if that's true, why don't you pay attention when I try to explain tech to you?"

"I was saying any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.", Nadine said with a smile, "In any case I can command these nanites to form into any machine or object my sister might need, though it ends up using my body mass to provide raw material for the process."

"And you're still proud of that?", Ellen said shaking her head, "Though you're right sister, without you we would have been dead several times over."

"Humans always were a superstitious and cowardly lot." Thunderhead said. "Present company excluded, of course."

"They aren't all bad...", Ellen said, "And so long as we're showing off...Nadine..." "Thought you'd never ask...", Nadine said, as she allowed herself to shrink, where she stood now was a small cloud of nanites, they quickly reformed her into a blade, a katana to be exact. Ellen snatched her out of the air. "Anything my sister needs.", came a heavily computerized voice from the katana.

Taking 10 on Knowledge Technology

"Shapeshifting? Interesting skill," Zach commented. "Cellular, molecular or atomic?"

"Molecular I think.", Ellen said swishing Nadinesword around. "She is an exact replica of whatever stuff in question she turns into, though usually is more durable than the existing things."

"So, not an exact replica then," Zach commented.

"Guess not...she's loads of fun though.", Ellen said to Zach. Nadine reformed into a black cloud of nanites. The cloud surrounded Ellen and then formed into a strapless black dress over her body, "Between us, I'm the one with the fashion sense.", Nadine said softly.

Fashion sense was subjective. When you've witnessed a few decades of progression, it was even more so. He was more for setting your own sense, but there was still the formal code for the meeting he was now forced to attend... And his thoughts were roaming. Far off topic. Zach just smiled at the girls. "An amazing skill you have there. Personally, my ventures into that field were not quite successful."

"Your ventures...do you care to explain?", Ellen asked.

"Free Form shifting wasn't a spell I could figure out fully, so I passed on it in lessons. And scorpio coding was a bit over my head as well," Zach admitted.

"Scorpio coding?", Ellen asked. "And that's nice...good to know this power's all mine.", Nadine said delighted.

"Has someone threatened to take it from you?" Zach asked, concerned.

"Not at all...", Nadine said. "So...Nimbi and I have shown off...what about you...what can you do?", Ellen asked.

"You think maybe they would have some sort of dossier or summary you could read?" Zach questioned.

"Nah, never got one, just that we're to meet the team here...Though they did tell me that there were more than just the three of us.", Ellen said. "In any case, if you'd rather keep it a secret I can understand.", Nadine said. Ellen sat down, inviting Zach to sit with her while they waited for the last one. "I think we get the point, Nimbi.", Ellen said.

"Thunderhead, before you break the roof of this place, please return to human guise...The establishment thanks you for your cooperation." Simon the AI said in her usual cheerful way.

Thunderhead sighed. "I would never do such a thing. But if you insist..." He muttered and went back to his human form, standing back on two legs. "I do hope there is an area I can sleep that would fit my true size."

A deep voice resounded in Nimbi's head. "Accomodations will be provided for, but let's wait until the others have arrived."

"It's not so much secrets," Yes, it's exactly that, Zach said out loud, his thoughts in direct opposition to it, "But it's like asking a random human 'what do you do'. It's a difficult question."

"Guess that's fair...", Ellen said. "Still it's good to know seeing as I think we'll be working together."

"I hope that the others will be as agreeable to me as you are, Ellen and Nadine." Thunderhead said.

"Thank you Mr. dragon...", Nadine said, the dress faintly glowing as her computerized voice sang out. "What has your life been like...and if you don't think I'm being rude...how old are you, Thunderhead?", Ellen asked.

"Two." Thunderhead replied simply, then noted the confusion. "Ah, I forget. Humans use individual years to determine age. I am 200 years old."

"Where did you live?", Ellen asked. "Two hundred years...the years have been kind.", Nadine said.

"I believe humans call the territory 'Alaska'." Thunderhead said. "The entiery of the... North American continent is under my protection."

"Fascinating...a dragon in Alaska...I've only rarely gotten the chance to travel...", Nadine said. "We'll get more...any highlights from having 2 centuries?", Ellen said. They met all kinds of things in thier job...She was inclined to believe anything. "Come sit with us.", Nadine offered.

"Oh where would I begin?" Thunderhead laughed and took the offer, taking seat on the couch. "There is so much to tell, so little time."

"Pick the best parts...I'm sure there will be time to tell stories in the future.", Nadine said, "This isn't awkward for you is it, talking to both of us at once, I'm not even in the form of a person right now." Nadine often remained silent when Ellen was in high school, usually only taking the shape of whatever was needed or sharing her own insights. Now she was excited.

"Tell her about that plane you crashed into during... which one was it... world war 1 was it?" Zach said with a wry grin. He sat in the air, rather than taking the couch. "It was back when he was still mastering the art of fly... got himself too close to a war zone and clicked a fighter."

"That wasn't my fault. It wasn't THAT cloudy!" Thunderhead said as though that would explain everything. "And then he and his friends had the gall to try and attack me! Those arrow cannons hurt if you get enough together..."

"I think you mean artillery cannons...", Ellen suggested, "Big ol dragon appear in the sky...you were likely mistaken for enemy aircraft."

"Those too..." Thunderhead sighed. "The planes and some arrow launchers from the ground. But yes, I have participated in both of your world wars. I didn't particularly enjoy them, but I did what I could to assist. Particularly on the Eastern Front where I was most at home."

"Must have been amazing...", Nadine said. "Though the war was tragic.", Ellen said.

"There was indeed tradgedy, but also courage. Courage the likes of which the world has never seen before or since. Say what you will about the achivements made during peacetime, but wars bring out the best in your kind... and the worst." Thunderhead replied.

"My kind...I have grown beyond human...at best we can be considered part human now.", Ellen said. "War brings many things...let's just hope we don't have another.", Nadine said. "But enough about tragedy, this to me is a good start...new friends...a new job..."

"New friends and old." Thunderhead corrected for himself and Zach. "As well as a learning opportunity."

"Getting to see each others abilities is that right?", Ellen said. "I do look forward to seeing both of you in action.", Nadine said to them, "You're a dragon, I'm just a human utility belt."

"You are a human that shapeshifts, not much to play down there," Zach pointed out.

"Guess you're right, though as I said I can only form into objects or machines...you know the things I've been...", Nadine said fondly, "It isn't strange for you to talk with me while I'm a dress is it?"

Thunderhead shrugged. "I have seen stranger things. Done stranger things. This is relativly tame compaired to that."

"Oh, what's stranger than talking to a dress?", Nadine asked. "While ignoring the lady...", Ellen said turning away. Nadine's skirt fluttered, and she changed once more into her usual self sitting next to Ellen. Ellen who was properly clothed in her standard costume of a leotard and short underdress simply sat by observing, she knew Zach was in midair, but made no effort to show that she found it any more special than the rest of them...That was the trouble with hanging around supers all the time, nothing was strange anymore. "Hey, Zach, what is it you do anyway, care to tell us now?"

"Well for instence, seeing the doorway to a world perpendicular to our own." Thunderhead said. "That was all I could take. Just seeing the doorway."

"And you didn't go in?", Nadine asked.

Thunderhead'seyes widened slightly. "Are you mad? My mind would not be able to proces anything if I did. Now, I did not stop those Nazi stooges from attempting to brave it. It was quite messy."

"Must have been quite the night...", Nadine said.

Ellen turned her head to the floating black man. "Were you going to add anything?", she asked, this doorway thing was interesting...she wondered if it would lead anywhere.

"I didn't get involved in the whole World Wars thing," Zach said with a shrug. "Not my world. Had other things worrying about." Like fighting dragons and demi-gods. It was an hectic few decades. Draco Knights and ornery Hercule Barbarians battering at the walls, the Key of Virgo setting it's anchor...

"I was just in the area." Thunderhead shrugged. "Heard the nazis were evil, decided to show them how a dragon would operate."

"That's brings up more questions than it answers..Firstly, what the heck were you doing in Europe during the early 20th century.", Ellen asked.

"Bored, little to do. Met a half dragon that told me the Third Rich was a bit rubbish." Thunderhead shrugged, honsetly not having a better reason then that.

"The word is reich...ah well...must have been when you were younger...so I'm curious...are the 100's the awkward teen years for you dragons or what?", Nadine asked with a giggle. Ellen rolled her eyes.

"More like the fifties," Zach commented. He twirled his fingers and pulled his small tablet. "No other way to explain why a ice dragon would think to visit the desert."

"I'll have you know that was on the alps." Thunderhead said smugly as though that explained everything.

"I'm talking about your pleasure flight back in..." Zach paused to think. Human dates tripped him up at times, "the mid eighties."

"That might actually explain the UFO sightings in that era.", Ellen said pounding her fist in her palm.

"1880's," Zach specified.

"Even better, can't imagine all the fun you get into when you live that long.", Ellen said.

"It comes with baggage too," Zach said. His mind unwillingly flashed back to Madeline. Unwillingly because it was a painful memory. Madeline died ninety eight years prior. It was a long time to nurse a wound like that. Still. He learned from that. A hard lesson indeed. His father had used somewhat prosaic terms. Young, dumb and full of cum.

Thunderhead sighed, hearing that. "Indeed... sometimes I wonder if a human lifespan would be better... But let's not talk about that now. Instead, let's focus on the present."

With a strangely quiet entrance, a towering giant of a humanoid eased open a door and stepped through the threshold into the room, minding her head for once but still staring at the room with a distrustful gaze. The room seemed to bother her more than the occupants, strangely enough, as she paid little heed to them even as she moved over to them, still strangely quiet -for her at least, her footsteps carried a sobering weight to them.

The giantess's hair was an amazing white and could've reached her waist if not so wild or tied up, her skin had more resemblance to an off-color rock than actual skin and her eyes looked like they'd been replaced with shimmering orbs of white energy. Her clothes were about as abstract, considering she had little more than a strip of dull white fabric around her chest for modesty, but somewhat extravagant -if ancient- short, very loose pants with a decorative sash, no shoes to speak of.
Overall, with her towering size and bulked and honed muscles she made a pretty intimidating figure.

"Your... building... spirit... guardian...? Told me to come here..." Ingha said a little awkwardly with a curious accent, still staring at the walls with narrowed eyes.

"Wow. Just... wow." Now here was a perfect candidate for a Taurus inspired paranoia fit. Zach raised an eyebrow at her dress. Interesting, was all he could say. At least she wasn't wearing a skirt at her size. "Hello?"

Thunderhead looked at the giantess and raised an eyebrow. "Hello." He said calmly. Interesting... There's still much I have to see in the world it seems. "My name is Thunderhead. It is a pleasure to meet you Ms...?"

"...Ingha," Ingha finished after a bit of concerned thought, attempting to shake it off and bring more attention to those before her, "I... greet you... language is... difficult..."

"Is it? What language is your native tongue?" Zach questioned, standing from his seat in the air.

"Jurikai?" Ingha offered hopelessly, "I was in the dirt for many many years, my people are all wiped out -ignorant peshnas."

"Jurikai? -:Interesting,:-" Zach said, continuing in that language. "-:My family's library and archives have texts written in it. But no one spoke it outside the classroom.:-"

Ingha blinked a few times in surprise, staring at Zach with slight confusion and suspicion.
"How... I don't..." Ingha stumbled in her English, still staring hard at Zach as if trying to find something, "...Eh... makes little difference I guess... world is too different now."
//Gift of Tongues FTW! :p

"Oh? How long has it been?" Zach asked, switching back to standard English.
//Hmm... wonder if GoT would work on slang...

"...I was in ze dirt..." Ingha repeated flatly.

"And you haven't made any attempt to find out how long you were down for?" Zach asked. It seemed like it would be an important issue to address.

"Perhaps you were unconcious?" Thunderhead piped in.

"I think I was conscious for most of it -and no one other than this 'cat' seems to know anything about my people. No one here seems to know of the Jurivahm, so as I said, must have been many years, and so doesn't matter. My people were likely wiped out by the Orivahm or something," Ingha said a little carelessly, tossing the subject aside, "Next time I shall not voice my opinions so clearly... I care not to repeat my time in the dirt."

"Not many would, I suppose," Zach said, just as dismissively.

"You have nothing but my deepest condolencies." Thunderhead said, genuinly meaning it.

"Their ignorance likely killed them, I will not mourn their loss," Ingha said easily, "Ancient history. Now is more important, what is the now?"

The twins sat stunned by the most recent addition to thier little club. Giantess, in the ground for years..maybe even longer since no record of her people were around...a quick scour of the internet proved that to Nadine. They really met all kinds in this job. "Um...hello, I guess this makes us the youngest ones here...", the twins said in perfect harmony.

Ingha nodded in acknowledgement to the twins, giving them a thoughtful gaze.
"Youngest... much to learn -and learn from," Ingha stated, going a little distant near the end, shifting to a more comfortable stance and folding her arms casually as she looked to the others.

"On that note, you never did say how old your were," Zach pointed out. He was starting to feel somewhat irritated with that older person talk. He wasn't even at the two hundred mark. Empty Night, they were still questioning his right to have Voice, much less leader at his age.

Ingha sighed and scratched her head, a little exasperated but probably more puzzled as she thought about it.
"Hmm... your numbers were... I think, five hundred before they locked me away? I am not sure, systems different, and counting time in my prison would have driven me insane," Ingha said, looking slightly troubled.

"What was the most important event you recall before you were... Relocated?" Thunderhead asked.

"You do realize that is a sensative subject," Zach said blandly.

"It is no longer important," Ingha said in a way of agreeing, glancing off to one side with disinterest.

Zach sighed, deciding that they would need quite the topic to draw the subject away from Ingha's history. Damn. Leaders didn't always get to do what they wanted... "Ellen, you were asking earlier where I was from?" He held his hand at waist height, palm up, and murmured a few words, letting a breath of sparkling motes drift out from them, pooling to form a cloud over his head that glowed a weak silver before parting like a curtain, exposing an image of a space scape. http://www.spacetelescope.org/static.../heic0414b.jpg

"That pretty much explain it.", Ellen said to Zach.

A gray cloud drifted towards the mountain top head quarters. There were other clouds out in the sky but this one was moving against the wind and seemed to be lowering. As it came to a stop over the building the started to change and the tiny drops of moisture started to freeze turning into snow. As the snow started to fall Eddy floated down form the interior of the cloud. He feet just touching the ground in front of the doors. He pushed them open and entered the building. He had been invited to join so he felt that this would be ok.

As he walked through the main entry way he could hear voices up ahead. As he walked the temperature dropped 10 degrees and there was a slight haze about him. It looked as if fog was around him and as he walked it thickened. By the time he reached the others he had a cloak of fog around him. It completely covered his body and his hair leaving only his face visible. Eddy was of average looks with eyes the color of a spring sky and hair blacker then night. His fog cloak covered his armored costume that he wore. The armored suit was for his protection seeing as many of the villains' hired goons liked to use guns and Eddy was just as vulnerable to bullets as the next person. He could bounce back from an injury pretty fast but enough gun fire would drop him.

Eddy opened the door and joined the group that seemed to be having a discussion. He didn't know if these were new people of full members of the Avengers so he did not interrupt their discussion. He would wait for them to question him or tell him what was going on.

"Ah, glad to see you could join the party.", Nadine said to the newcomer. "You one of the new recruits?" The newcomer looked mysterious with a shroud of fog covering most of him. At least she assumed it was a him.

"That I am. I recieved the call not to long ago and made my way here from the north where I was working. Good to meet you all. Are you all recruits or full members?" Eddy asked as he looked at the others gathered.

"We only got the call about a week ago...", the twins said in unison. "I'm Nadine...", Nadine said. "And I'm Ellen, you?"

"I am Windward, The master of the storm." He replied.

"You see sister, this is why we need to get ourselves a title.", Ellen said. "Master of storms...sound intimidating...I can't really say the same...", Nadine said. "Well good to meet you", they said in unison.

"A name will come in time. I got mine from the newspapers. People will give you one but you have to be careful or they might give you an odd one. There have been some pretty funny ones in the past. Just think of one that works with your powers." Eddy looked at the two ladies and wondered. "What is your power by the way?"

Well... someone was working hard to make his paranoia. Any one of these would be a marvelous front. He supposed suspecting everyone was just a part of life.

"A pleasure to meet you, Windward." Thunderhead said. "I am Thunderhead."

"Thunderhead you say? Are you a fellow storm rider?" Windward asked.

"Not as such. I am a dragon," The dragon replied.

"Dragon? You don't look much like one...oh you are called the the dragon. You yield the mighty fire then. A true power over the destruction element." Windward said with respect.

"Ice actually," Zach volunteered, since the windmancer somewhat ruined his own show. "True earth dragons managed to learn the trick of hiding in human shape. The western ones, in the least. The eastern ones already has some sort of magic working with. It was during the whole European conquest age. They all became rather enamoured with the idea of slaying the race. Tragic really. Father told me all about it."

Thunderhead nodded sadly. "Yes... We lost many at the time. I do not want to talk about such things, really."

"That is really interesting and horrible at the same time. Having ones race hunted down. It is very sad. Ice is another fun thing to play with. Moldable and holds it shape." Windward turnred to Zach. I Don't believe I caught your name sir."

"It is where I hatched. Towards the North Pole, so my elemental nature adapted to match it for survival." Thunderhead explained. "Perhaps sometime we could practice and demonstrate our abilities?"

"Ah, apologies. Zachariah Locke," Zach said pleasantly. Still, I rather my friends to call my Zach or Zachary. Zachariah is a touch too formal. For the Courts and Assemblies, yes, but not common usage."

"Well then, Zach, it is a pleasure to meet you. Does anyone know if we are waiting on anyone else or does this thing start at any special time?" Windward asked.

"You know, that is quite the reasonable question. I suppose they are giving us the time to see how the team dynamics are developing," Zach suggested. He glanced around. "Perhaps they are watching us at this moment?" Well, that would be an idea. The mark 25 would be perfect for that too...

Eddy looked around for any cameras.
notice http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4073463/ = 13

You don't see any cameras...though you suspect they hid the cameras very well.

"Hmm that would be kind of rude to intrude upon ones conversation. I could provide cover for the duration of this conversation but I do not think that would instill trust in our recruiters." Eddy stated glumly.

"Ah, but it may instill trust in each other, if they do intend for us to work together in any aspect," Zach said. It was one of the leadership tactics his father spoke of often. "We need natural rapport if we are to any good. I doubt that any of us have truly complementary military or militia training."

"You make a good point. And also are correct on the experience. I have no military experience but I have worked with others heroes in the past. It will be a while before we can work together seamlessly. I don't even know the capabilities of everyone yet. Which makes us as dangerous to the enemy as we are to each other." Added Eddy

"Still... the idea of being watched... perhaps we should check for observation points?" Zach mused.

"What is so important about being watched or not? Gazes cannot harm us," Ingha said a little irritably.

"True, but I've always had an insatiable curiosity," Zach said with a slight smile as he glanced around the large room. "Still, wouldn't you like to know?"

Ingha made a face of reluctant thought, her gaze passing to each person here in turn as though quickly sizing them up before glancing back at Zach.
"Eh. Part of battle is adapting fast enough to your enemy, I see no obstacle here.... eh... was that the right word...?" Ingha said fairly confidently, though gaining a frown at this infernal language, in the end just shaking her head to throw the issue aside.

"I would admit, I am not used to having people stare at me without my knowing..." Thunderhead mused.

"Hmm... when was the last time you saw one of locks, Nimbi?" Zach asked. scratching at his chin thoughtfully. "I forged a new one a few years back now... Been keeping it up to date as well."

"I believe it was the last time we had met." Thunderhead replied. "I believe you were showing off the most recent one at the time. That was... A decade and a half ago, I believe."

"I'd prefer we not worry if they listen in on this...heck I don't mind if they see us right now...we've got nothing to hide", Ellen said. "Speaking of which, hey Eddy, you asked what our powers were.", Nadine said.

"Yes I did. So far I know that Thunderhead is a dragon. Other then that I don't know anything else." Eddy replied.

"Ellen's pretty fast...and I can change into whatever weapons or devices she needs...", Nadine said to the others. "It's a bit more than that...but that's not important just yet...", Ellen said zipping around Eddy just to prove she had super-speed.

Eddy followed her for a moment with his eyes. He stopped so to not get dizzy. "That is interesting. Does turning into a weapon not hurt and how complex of a device can you turn into?" Windward asked. This seemed like an interesting ability to work with.

"I can hardly be harmed at all when in the form of weapons and armor...and pretty darn complex...wanna see?", Nadine said. "You know what happened the last time you tried that sister.", Ellen said.

"Ah, you plan to shift again?" Zach queried.

"Zach, what abilities do you bring to the group?" Eddy inquired.

"Indeed...this shape has some flaws though...", Nadine said forming into a cloud of nanites, the cloud compressed down to small size and then quickly settled. Where Nadine once sat now lay an advanced laptop computer.

Taking 20 on knowledge tech

"Hmmm. You can power yourself? Do you get internet? That is pretty neat. I worked with a shapeshifter before but he could only do animals. I did not know of anyone who could turn into inanimate objects such as this." Eddy said with wonder.

"I am still powered when in the form of electronics, but I don't even have an operating system...that's the biggest problem...I also can't form into animals.", Nadine said in a computerized voice. The screen flashed as she spoke.

"I don't know what installing an OS would do to you sister.", Ellen explained.

Nadine sighed, "Sadly that's true...this form can't do very much right now without an OS."

"I am something of a, what's the current term... A Jared of Trading?" Zach said. "No... that doesn't quite sound right... Regardless... I am something of a magi and a technomancer. Well, not only..." They also called him a hacker, counterfeiter, plagiarizer and... other less polite things, but they, as in these people, didn't need to know that part. "Anyway..."[done]

"Anyway?", Nadine asked.

"It's a difficult thing to explain fully," Zach said with a shrug. "Humans breath and produce heat, automatically regulate biochemistry and countless other things. Just as how it's hard to itemize those, it's the same for me." He thought about those that were obviously not in the human scope.
"Hmm.... It's hard to explain... I suppose you don't normally walk in the sky... or keep things in the Out..."

Nadine reformed herself, focusing on flattening out and then finished. She was now a medium sized dark metal platform. Ellen walked onto the platform and sat. This was when Nadine floated up to Zach's level. "Not as such no...", Ellen said to Zach.

taking 20 on technology
//So her shifting took something like 30mins to shift?
//each check is about a full round...she did 20 of those so 2 minutes
Hoverboard
protection 10
flight 5
growth 4
superstrength 2
//Max load of 200 lbs?
//something like that...
//this to some extent is how thier combined form can fly

Thunderhead looked at the room. "If we are going to show off powers, I am going to need to ask that we go into the courtyard again. Most of my powers are in my draconic form."

"They'll be plenty of time for that later...", A deep voice sounded in Thunderhead's mind.

//so where is feenie?

Thunderhead gave a growl. "Who said that? Show yourself!"
Passive intimidate: 25
//Passive is taking ten
//lovely :D
//Would all that apply in human form?
//I don't see why it wouldn't. maybe a -4 for not being huge anymore.
//Because he's not a dragon.

"Relax, dragon, you will meet me soon.", the voice continued ringing in Nimbi's head.

Already getting frustrated at this voice, Thunderhead paced back and forth, waiting for the voice to show itself.

"Feeling quite okay?" Zach said, addressing Nimbi. "Speaking to the air is rarely a good sign.i"

"You're not hearing that voice?" Thunderhead asked, slightly irritated.

"Maybe it's ze building spirit," Ingha offered with a careless shrug.

"If you say so...", the voice said to Ingha.

"So, how much longer are they going to watch and listen to us. I kind of feel like I am in a zoo." Eddy added.

Zach looked on impassively for a moment, then decided there was too much to interesting things for just normal eyes. He reached out, thumb, index and middle fingers extended. He only made it about a half foot before it hit something, and a silver pattern flashed; a ring, three points where his fingers were plunged into, tracings around the ring. He turned it, and there was a slight click.
"Clavem... Trez Fra'ae," The sliver flowed, and formed into a foreign looking eyepiece. "Vultu Re'aa'k."

"That's kinda neat...what's it do?", Ellen said, "You don't mind staying like this for a while do you sister.", she whispered. Nadine responded with a no.

"It is a composite vision enhancement device," Zach said as he slipped the eyewear on. It had green tinted lenses and somewhat thick handles. "I... obtained, several designs for various vision devices and encoded them all into this mago-techic matrix structure. Night vision, telescopic, microscopic and so on. On the down side, I can only manifest a single matrix of this type at a time."

[mew post]"So the single matrix has the function of various eyewear.", Ellen clarified. "Wow...most i could do is form into a single eyepiece at a time", Nadine chimed in. [/mew post]

"I am still limited in that it can only perform one function at a time," Zach admitted.

Ingha barely understood half the words the cat used, so she looked a little lost but she get the gist that he could sort of summon things, which was a curious ability in its own right.
"...You just... bring it out of the air? What else is there?" Ingha said, not all that surprised but one had to wonder the extent of such an ambiguous ability -pulling tricks out of sleeves wasn't a tactic Ingha liked to see.

"Depends really..." Zach said. He ran a finger along the handle of the eye piece and the lens took on a blue tinge as he looked over the girls in an analytical vision. "I have a Locks and Keys... Lium... Caelum... Vespa... couple others.... and some random things in the Out... You actually replicated a jeiu wa vulta force projection field... remarkable..."

"Who me? Force Projection field?", Ellen asked. Nadine the temporary hoverboard had nothing more to add, big words weren't her strong point.

"It truly is remarkable. The capabilities of these nanites of your..." Zach said, musing out loud. To be able to create such drastic change... yet not totally complete. Like the computer form of hers... physically complete, but not totally.

"What about these nanites?", Nadine asked. "We don't fully understand how it works ourselves.", Ellen chimed in.
//Huh... that means Nullify Electronics will knock out the twins ability. Cool.
//if they are in a form that requires electricity
//The Nanites that give them power.

//The following is the intro for my group (and I have NO idea where people are, I'll just assume I see them). They are currently in their human forms. Time to see how well this goes, eh? Also, I thought it best to describe the leader's human form (first time I used any 'shapeshifting' abilities), any problems and I'll have no problems removing that chunk.

The sound of a door opening is heard and three individuals walked in. Two of them appeared to be generic bodyguards in armored jumpsuits with what appeared to be laser pistols in their respective holsters, however the leader himself was much more interesting. He was dressed in very formal, even royal looking clothing that was designed to go with a cape. This cape was designed with what appeared to be symbols that are alien in nature. Whatever they meant, the dark color design was made to draw attention to him. That or it was simply his clothing style that was doing it; who walks around just anywhere looking like that? He removes the hood that’s a part of the cape to reveal his face. This person’s face screamed charismatic; the face was one of both a prince and a leader. He looks around the room and gives a smile, “I trust that this is the Avengers Organization? Sorry if we’re late, we are… new to the area.” His voice was practically dripping with charm, which could be considered a red flag as to who they were because it was slightly unnatural. Only the Avengers Organization and anyone else who suspected who they were would have any idea just how ‘new to the area’ they were.
[Passive Diplomacy = 15 (without taking 10). Attractive trait is +4 on those who might find him appealing.]
//Current CS doesn’t reflect this because I’ve forgotten to save it, will upload it when I get home.
//Hmm... we have a similar dress style.

"Please present identification or prepare to be annihilated.", a cheerful girly voice resounded as several gun turrets unfolded from the walls.

The two flanking him nearly reacted, but they suddenly stopped and slowly relaxed. The lead kept his appearence as he thinks for a second, "'Alestor' was the translation, I believe."

"Alestor, name identified...Your followers will remain here. Any hostilities will be met with imminent deletion...have a nice day.", the AI said happily. The turrets receded into the walls.

Alestor's smile faded to neutral once the defenses flipped away, "...'artificial intelligence', huh? Never did care for those." He turns to face the two that followed him, "You heard it, stay here. Don't do anything without telling me and stay in your human form." They give a salute and went off to do whatever in the waiting area. With that out of the way, he proceeds past the crazy defense system towards where ever he needed to go.

"Ah, so you've all arrived.", a voice rang out in everyone's head, "Please hold very still...an associate will be with you shortly."

Zach looked around, cycling between X-Ray, ultravision, infrared, analytical and true sight to see if you trace the origins of the transmission.

No sooner did Alestor walk in did a voice enter his head. He paused, he knew the voices of everyone in his hive and this was not one of them. He relaxed a little when he realized what the mental voice was saying as he placed it on the ever growing list of things that were different in this world. He moves to sit down in a chair while he analyzed everyone in this room since they were apparently the people he’ll have to work with along with his own personal group of Changelings.

Eddy waited like everyone else and wondered if this new person was to be the one they were waiting for. He could be since he came in as the voice said someone would be here.

An associate arrived after a few minutes. A brown haired woman in a tube dress. She sported a black bowtie and had her hair tied neatly in a ponytail. She adjusted her tiny glasses. In her hands she tightly clasped a hexagonal device. On the top of the device there was a symbol of a circle with a slash through it. She looked, if not frightened then at least intimidated by being around supers. "Hello, I am Edith Harrington, if you would follow me, the overseer will see you now.", she began, "Please revert to humanoid form, and turn off other powers and abilities. The Avengers thank you for your cooperation."

Nadine landed and turned back to her normal self. To be safe, the two fused together again forming a mostly normal looking woman with black splotches with glowing green circuitry. "Looks like their here for us.", Eileen said. (Eileen is the temporary name for thier fused form, Eileen's voice is a resonance between Ellen and Nadine.)

Eddy followed Edith to where ever it was that she took them. He figured that he was going to find out why they were all called here for soon.

Alestor prepared to follow Edith, but there was a question that actually mattered right now, "I’m afraid you’ll need to elaborate, my dear, for my humanoid form is an ability of my kind. Would your overseer rather that I stay in my humanoid form or should I change into my real form?"

Interesting... He was quite surprised with what Lium revealed. Aside from the dragon he expected, the one Eddy was not quite human either. And this newcomer... Paranioa might stretch to say a scion of Sagittarius, but, honestly... it was more akin to... a demon pony of some sort. A bastard of a demon pony and a damned beetle. He stilled his tongue, sliding the Lium up his forehead. Now... that was a project... a morph code within the matrix, much like he worked into Grani, to hide the complexity of the Lium within a simpler form.

But the... pony creature (who's dress rivaled some of the high court wear) did raise a valid query, one that he was interested in hearing answered.

"Remain in your humanoid form, the overseer will give you further instructions.", she said to Alestor with a tinge of fear in her voice.

Zach quite a slight smile. Interesting. Was that fear he smelled on the air? She the little pony creature scared the woman. In other news, her answer wasn't as enlightening as he liked. All his forms were humanoid. He signed and followed anyway.

Alestor gave a warm smile when he noticed the fear she gave off, “There’s no reason for you to be afraid, Miss Harrington. I can promise that no harm will befall you. You know about the insane defense system here, do you not? So relax.” His voice clearly has influence in it and it sounded like he cared for this person he never met before, but really he was just practicing using this new language to influence the humans into liking him, it's how they worked. Alestor currently either doesn’t know, or doesn’t care about Zach seeing through his disguise, as he figured this ‘overseer’ will have him reveal himself to the group anyways. It is what would be best if they were honestly expected to work together.
[diplomacy: take 10 = 25]

"He insisted I don't use the nullifier...but I...just behave yourself.", Edith said as she led the group through the Avenger's building until they reached a glass door. A voice said reassuringly in thier heads, "Come in...".

The glass doors slid away, the room was large. In the room on a small throne sat a man, this man was indian with an extra eye growing out of his forehead, he had black hair and looked like he never slept a wink. He wore a headband and was covered in electrodes, the wires trailed off to a supercomputer that didn't look altogether there. "I do apologize for not being able to meet with you in person, but business must get done...", he said clasping his hands together and gesturing for them to enter.

Zach blinked slowly, the lethargic face masking the fervent thought processes. Psychic was his first though. Lack of cranial hair was a common trait across the human type. That or too much. A third eye as well. Psychic or magic focus. But the electrodes (10 on Tech: 19) and the super computer (TT:19). "Only business, was it?" Zach said. "Pity. And here I had such a grand theory of team development."

"Developing a team is part of that business, I'm sure you all have already met. You lot are to make up the new Sector V that is responsible for the United States region "

"The whole of country or just part of it? That is a large area to cover with the few of us. Just what will our duties be while on the job?" Windward asked.

"He has a point. The continent is a bit on the vast side for such a small group to police. And the name is a bit... Regardless; is it not already taken?" Or was that entertainment? He always confused his modern history and modern culture lessons. Either way, Zach pressed the point. "Do we get to vote on it?"

"You are not the only members of sector V, though I expect you all are capable of handling decent sized areas, you are responsible for just part of the country but that will be determined by the local overseer.", the Overseer said, "To think that some people still think the United States means all of America."

"True," Zach said, momentarily stymied, "But continent or not, it is still large. But as I understand it, we are merely a unit in the sector?"

"The local overseer can give you the details. Your duties will mostly involve local patrols, the occasion defense of a city or township, among other commonplace duties.", the Overseer said to them. "If you have any questions feel free to ask."

"Do we recieve payment, for our services?" Zach asked, shifting the sit of his cloak with a shrug of his shoulders. "Oh, and the political and legal boundaries. What freedom of moment and authorities would we have?"

"Details can be discussed with the regional overseer, you'll be speaking with her shortly. Remember that the Avengers are a privately funded nonprofit organization. Other concerns should also be discussed with the regional overseer.", the Overseer said to the group.

"And who is this regional overseer you speak of?" Zach questioned. "Oh, and the extent of the region. Only the United States?"

"You'll meet her soon enough. And yes, just the United States, though any global emergency will require all available Avengers.", the Overseer said. "Ta Ta...", he said before his projection faded. Then the sound of a level being pulled and someone stepping quietly out of the room was heard.

Out in the lobby a small robotic drone floated overhead two mostly clueless followers.

And then everyone saw a brilliant blue light. The light turned orange as thier surroundings changed. When they opened their eyes they were in a new location. Alestor's followers were also there, also just as dazed as everyone else. A small robotic drone flew away. The facility was just as pristine as the last one. They were in a small room in the middle of a larger facility. The floor was covered in a shiny material. If one looked carefully the symbol for Aperture Science was inscribed on a machine nearby. Notice DC 15 The man wore a red leather button up jacket, jeans and big ol cowboy boots, on his head he had a widebrim cowboy hat. "Y'all folks must be the new recruits. I'm sure y'all got loads of questions...My name is Big Tex here to answer any and all queries and quandries. Ma will be delighted to see you.", he said in a thick southern drawl.

"Heya Tex!", Nadine exclaimed, Ellen just smiled. "Hey there little missy, see you're moving up in the world.", Big Tex said to Nadine as they moved in for a handshake. "You too, how are the heads?", Nadine said. "Never better since ya two helped with da repairs, tis a damn shame what happened to them that year." Big Tex sighed.

"I suppose I can start on that topic," Zach said. "What are you talking about?"

"It was just months after graduation...", Nadine said, "Do you want the full story?"

"No reason not to hear it," Zach said with a slight shrug. He crossed his legs and took a seat in the air.

The two minions appeared in the room due to the teleportation with one of them pissed off and yelling in a completely alien language while the hair of the other one appeared to be slightly frizzed for some reason. For anyone who can understand her for one reason or another, she was saying this, “-while we’re in the field?! I know you have a thing for me, but… geeze! And another thing! Your human form looks completely st- …Wait, where are we?”
Finally noticing their surroundings, she appeared shocked, but quickly recovers with a nervous smile and speaking in normal English while scratching the itch on her neck, "Uhh, hello everyone, haha..." Alestor facepalms, whatever led him to pick those two to come along for this he had forgotten the moment they were suddenly teleported.

"So observant," Zach commented, not turning to watch them.

Nadine did the sensible thing and turned into a cowboy hat on Zach's head. "Well, let's get started, I was only 18 at the time, still new to this superhero thing. There was an attack at the black hills, something about the sacred stones...some native american cult didn't know about the heads you see...The first thing about the heads...you don't anger the heads...You'll understand later...If we are where I think we are.", Nadine explained.

"We aren't.", Big Tex said, "Rushmore Base was deemed unsafe so we moved, the heads are still in the reserve force."

"Rushmore, Rushmore..." Zach thought for a moment. "The odd American pei es, I mean, art carving?" He raised an eyebrow. "Are they animate? I have never come across any arcane lore of the sort."

"Not fully Mister...er...What's your name sir? I told Ma, I think we should have a nametags but Ma, Ma doesn't think so...", Big Tex said, "Anyway...the heads themselves are only partially animate, some say thier creation was a left over from the Cold War, a great weapon that was never completed."

Zach shook his head with a weary sigh, though he did raise an eyebrow at Nadine's sudden boldness in taking liberties with his personal space. "You humans certainly are an interesting lot," he mused. "A set of mobile fighing platforms at that scale... you would literally have to mine montain for the material...

"Ah, pray tell, the Liberty Statue does not happen to be another such weapon, does it?" Now Zach was very interested. Wasn't there a documentary about a time traveler that covered stone carved weapons? And something about the statue in new york being activated to fight a menace?

Eddie listened to what was going on just let the conversation go. He didn't really know what was going on except they were talking about the national monuments being weapons. Perhaps the tinfoil hatters were right after all.

Alestor, likewise, doesn't say anything. He only just got here and his scouts were only just scratching the surface of whatever makes United States tick, so he simply stood back mentally giving Razerak another lecture on the way he tends to act around women using their personal language for added security with the mental conversation.

"We don't have conclusive evidence that the Statue of Liberty is just a statue at the present time.", Big Tex said, "Nadine, don't think I'm off my rocker or nothing but you do make a fine hat sometimes."

"So... it might be," Zach concluded. Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Humans were some interesting at times. Whether they made the changes or they just served to attracted it. It was always something new with them. "But we digress. What is it that you were saying about the heads?"

Thunderhead woke up as he looked at the new people(what new people?) that had entered. "Hello everyone." He yawned. "A pleasure to meet you all. How was your travel time here?"
//What travel time? They were teleported... do dragons fall asleep when teleported?

"Someone doesn't know how teleporters work.", Ellen said. She was fine with Nadine's antics, but sometimes she wished her sister would give prior warning before doing something like that. Someone needed to give the dragon a crash course in matter transport portal tech.

"I just woke up really. I was waiting for the others to arrive. When they did not, I fell asleep." Thunderhead yawned. "When did this happen?"
Nimbi Condition: Narcolepsy
//he was bored :P

"And they say dragons are keen and wise creatures," Zach said, rolling his eyes.

Alestor rolled his eyes while Sylvia laughs, "Do all dragons randomly fall asleep, or have I just been meeting the lazy ones?"
"Sylvia? If I remember correctly, you only met two, one of which was a baby while the other one was guarding gold... those two types tend to sleep."
"But still, I was under the impression that they'd be fierce or something, not lazy sleepyheads."
Alestor simply shakes his head at Sylvia's response and brings his hands together in hopes of moving the main conversation along, "Moving on... I believe we were trying to talk about some semi-animate heads that were carved into a mountain?"

"Hello to you too, mortal." Thunderhead growled, now a little irritated at the speaker.

Alestor quickly opens up a mental conversation with Sylvia in his home language, “Lazy or not, dragons are not to be trifled with, now apologize to him before I need to find a new #1 Magic User in the Hive…”
Whether Sylvia was going to do it anyways, or not, she promptly spoke up again, “Well you’re no fun. Oh well, sorry Dragon! I didn’t really mean anything by it.” She finishes this with a cheerful smile while Alestor just sighs, “She’s… what would be the word used here? …Perky, but she’s very good with magic. Don’t let her bother you.”

Thunderhead calmed down, though wa still irratated with Sylvia.

"Worry not about it," Zach advised Alestor, instantly regretting it since it might mean the conversation might get side tracked again. Anyway, he finished up the thought. "Spend enough time with him, and he will shatter a lot of illusions and preconceptions you might have had about his kind. But about those heads..."

"Personally I think they heads were early prototypes of the weapon in question.", Big Tex said, "Well now dat y'all are awake, I better take you to Ma." And with that Big Tex left the room motioning for the group to follow. Nadinehat jumped onto Ellen's head. The Room led into a hallway with a railing and an open air courtyard. From here the group could see the fountain in the courtyard. Notice DC 20, trapdoors in the floors are labelled with aperture science logos. Big Tex Led them to the elevator which then led to the top floor. Once there they followed the wires to a nearby room. The group entered. "Ma, the new recruits are here.", Big Tex said as the group filed into the room. They could see a middle aged african american woman. She sat in a lounge chair and wore a blue formal dress and had cyborg arms attached to her back. All her hands were frantically typing on seperate computers. It was as if she was multitasking. Several monitors floated around her each with maps or video feed or whatever. Then as she noticed the group, she turned away from the monitors and folded her arms in her lap, though the robotic arms continued managing the systems.

"Hello, you must be the new recruits from HQ, Emma, Nadine, Cumulonimbus, Zachariah, Alestor, Ingha, and Eddy...I just recieved your files about an hour before you arrived at Sector V base. I'm sure you all have met each other.", the lady said with a smile. "You can call me Mavis, but many prefer Ma for short."

"I take it that this is a zero privacy place. Seeing I have been keeping my identity private and you just freely gave it out." Eddy was a little annoyed about that. Throw a name around offten enough and it can be used agaisnt you. He heard or read that some place before.

"Better get used to it, we are an open organization, you don't need to worry your identity outside the building is still safe.", Mavis said.

"Wait your real?", Emma asked allowing Nadine to change back to human.

"Of course.", Mavis said.

"Is there a reason why she wouldn't be?" Zach asked, looking at the woman with leveled look. She certainly seemed to have an eye on this, considering the number of screens in the room.
TT Notice: 20 to skim the room.

"'Nevermind.", Ellen said.

Zach shook his head. These were certainly odd people.

Thunderhead looked to Zach, then shrugged and leaned aginst a wall to see how things would progress. "There wouldn't happen to be a location for me to take on my true form, would there?"

"Preferably outside Nimbi.", Mavis said in a cheerful manner. One of the many screens were

"Excellent. Would I still be able to communicate with you while outside?" The dragon asked.

"I was getting to that.", Big Tex said sheepishly.

"Grin and bear it, Nimbi," Zach said, rolling his eyes. You wouldn't think he was the oldest one in the room, the way he acted. "This is hardly the worse you will have to deal with in the common days and months."

"Here, these are your communicators.", Big Tex said handing each of them a tiny metal pin in the shape of the Avenger's badge.

Thunderhead took the communicator confused, wondering if he should eat it. Deciding againt it, he sniffed it experimentally.

Ingha was likewise confuzzled -in fact barely a single thing had made much sense to her in the past hour and her brain was so far behind that she was kind of in a lost daze, just staring a little badge thing held between a large finger and thumb, doing her best to try not to break it whilst staring at it in puzzlement.

"Interesting," Zach said, taking the pin. It was a tad bit tacky. [Seven stars in a pentagon?] Secretly, he resolved to take it apart, isolate the frequency of the transmissions, and slave the controls to his own altin. As soon as he got a moment to himself, anyway. For the moment, he stuck the badge in the inner pocket of his cloak.
//plz, I may have to change the design again
//noticed ^^ Want the links to the ones I made?
//yeah
// http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/2277/badged.png
http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/2050/logowma.png

Seeing Zach stick it to himself, Thunderhead settled for touching the side of his neck, wondering what would happen if anything. "You must teach me about this new... technology thing."

Eddy took his communicator and held it up to look at it. Seemed simple enough to use. He wented to pin it to his chest and a hole appeared in the fog cloak. He pinned the communicator right over his heart and closed the fog around it once more.

"Are these communicators water proof? Can they with stand high and low temperatures and what is there electricity tolerence. I don't want to fry this thing on our first outing." Eddy explained.

The three each examined their repective pins. Being more used to Arcane Science and not full blown tech, Alestor wasn't sure how these pins are 'communicators', which simply meant his R&D team will have to examine how it's made at some point, "I trust these were made to accommodate my kind as well?" Sylvia had no problems simply pinning hers on her disguised form while Razerak simply placed his in his pocket.

"We may have to find a more resistant pin for you Eddy, but I believe the current models are sufficient.", Big Tex said.

"Hnn... I will try not to break it, but it might not be me who does..." Ingha said a little hopelessly, quite certain the little trinket was going to get smashed between a rock and a hard place -either one being Ingha. Then again, maybe combat in this era was less intense... She just resigned to tucking it away in her sash, figuring come what may.

"While these pins are nice," Zach said, somewhat lying, "I pray they are not the only benifit we will recieve from participating in this union."

"The satisfaction of a job well done, your very own suite to live in, and all you have to do is hit whatever baddies we tell you to.", Mavis said with a smile.

"And access to research material? Historical sites? Foreign lands?" Zach continued.

"Research materials yes, tourism, if you want...foreign lands...the avengers currently does not condone world conquest.", Mavis said.

Amusingly, Ingha actually looked a bit grumpy or disappointed after the comment about world conquest, but it didn't seem to be enough to make her remark about it. There would come a time, no doubt; she was still learning about this new world.

"Honestly, it never crossed my mind," Zach said. He was more thinking about world jaunts and such for searching for keys and supplies.

World domination seemed like far too much work on their part. Once you had then you had every child growing up and trying to over throw you. It would drag on...dragon he he he. Drag on for ever.

Alestor wasn't sure if that 'world conquest' bit was directed at him or someone else. Either way, he was amused since he was pretty sure one of the terms he needed to agree with involved 'No hostile takeover of Earth'. Playing as the 'good guys' might actually be easier anyways in terms of getting what they need to survive.

And then the alarms sounded...A happy little jingle mixed in with klaxons providing the strong beat. "Ah, I see, you guys are in luck...A bank robbery...wait....a number of them...O head down to the transporter room. " One of the screens turned towards the group to show several red exclamation points over several major cities. Little green checks appeared over the cities that already had Avengers dealing with the problem. "We have several groups dealing with the threats already. You guys are to be deployed to Salt Lake City, in the financial district. Put simply...stop them, we have a few leads on what group could possibly pull off something of this scale...Keep your communicators active, we'll keep you posted."

Big Tex moved to herd the group out of the room, "You heard Ma, get going...the transporter room is where you guys came in."

"Show time." Eddy floated off the ground and flew toward the transporter. As he flew a trail of vapor followed him and his cloak started to expand. He would need to summon up a storm as soon as they got there. Spring time meant rain and lots of it. He would have to make sure to keep track of his own group in the up coming event.

Nadine formed into a jetpack for Ellen and the twins followed Eddy down to the transporter room. "SectorV-44 Transporter Inititiated, all in subgroup should report to the transporter room immediately."

Ingha just shrugged with a bit of a confused expression as people zipped off for a 'bank robbery' thing, but resigned to some haste herself if only to avoid being left behind. It did seem like they were going into battle which could be a nice distraction; all this talking and teleporting around had been a little over the ancient demigoddess's head.

Once everything was set in motion, Alestor mentally orders the two to get moving and they quickly followed the group, not without some small chatter though which started with Sylvia, “Well, time to see what this world has then…” Razerak moved slightly in front of her and smiles, “Don’t worry Sylvi, I’ll protect you if things get too dicey.” She merely blew a few strains of hair out of her eyes, “Unless they have something that cancels out magic, I won’t need it, you just keep your mind out of the gutter for once. And I swear, if I catch you doing anyone again with one of your-” Alestor merely growls, the two were great in combat. Hell, one time Sylvia rode Razerak and the combied might of her forcefield and his natural armor made short work of one group of enemies, but it’s almost always the same thing with them, “I’m under the impression that the robberies are more important at the moment; you two can bicker like an old married couple later.” Razerak merely grins while Sylvia’s eyes went wide, “What?? But we’re not, I’m just making sure Razzy doesn’t… oh nevermind!” She threw her hands into the air in defeat while Raz laughed.
//yes, there's one line of text here that's purely fanservice and really means nothing (hopefully). Thanks for making Razerak the most awkward character I've ever made purely because he has tentacles XD
//You're welcome ^^

So much for fiddling with the tacky badge before leaving. He sighed and made for the first room they showed up in. Even if he hadn't been paying attention, the scent trail was pretty tracable. The cynical part of him was wondering if this was all an elaborate ruse. Still... he wasn't going to hold back. If it was, it would be fun.

The Arizona desert

Kalron smiled as he looked over the town of Dustfall. He had been traveling through the desert for nearly two days on his own hoping to lose the two men who had been chasing him. He had only activated his powers a month ago and he still was still not that familiar with how to control his own strength and as a result he was reluctant to fight the two strange armored men who had been chasing him. It had taken him a few hours to lose the two of them the previous day. As far as he could tell...they had somehow managed to augment their bodies with battle suits.

I still don't know how they managed to track me down in the first place. He thought as relaxed his body and his muscles began to shrink and his skin began to turn back to normal. After a few moments, he looked human except for the fact that his shirt was hanging off him.

Alright...he thought First thing is to get some food. Hack into a computer and see if there's anyway to get out of here before those two psychopaths track me down again. After that...see if there are any others like me in this town. It's a longshot but I have to check.

Aron had breezed through his morning routines so he could get a start on his newest activity in his spare time, The World. He was excited, having hooked everything up the night before. He put on his headset and picked up his controller, grinning. "Finally! Was so tired last night I couldn't even play!" After a moment of fiddling around, he started it up, excitedly. Sorting through all the character options with ease, and deciding to go with something kind of playful. After finishing, he bit the inside of his cheek, wondering what to expect.

It was just another day in Mac Anu, people going to and fro, exploring, chatting, some doing shifty deeds they shouldn't be. But that was only the concern of moderators and people who cared enough to try and stop it, which wasn't many people. The general area of the Chaos Gate was rather empty, all that could be heard was the water flowing through the virtual streams. There was to be an event to be called soon, or so the forums said. By the information given it wouldn't be anything major, and it wasn't probably something to be excited about. But that wouldn't stop the public, many were talking about it. Some said it would maybe be the ultimate rare item, while others said it could possibly be for money. Although these were probably false, everyone assumed something or other, and one thing was for sure, many people were going to be a part of the event.

Of course, for those who could care less about events, there was always the local guilds to look into. Two of the biggest being Isaac's Crusaders and Dwight's Dominion. While the Crusaders are rather helpful, the Dominion is more troublesome. These were the two most powerful guilds' in Mac Anu, constantly fighting a fight of good and evil, whichever would win in the long run is uncertain at best, and one day maybe a conclusion will be met, and it will decide the fate of those in Mac Anu as a whole.

Aron's character transported in from a beam of light that came from the sky in front of the Chaos Gate, his bunny ears shifting with the breeze. He was wearing a leather chestplate, that was small and fit perfectly for his bunny size. A sword with a gun attachment was sheathed on his back. He walked around a little, taking in the sights. "Ooo. Cool! This all looks awesome! Like that! And this! And... I feel so short!" He tapped his foot on the ground in thought, he WAS short. As was natural for the Tu Tribe... Why did he pick this race again? He shrugged, unsure. He stayed near the Chaos Gate, thinking about what to do first. There was certainly a lot he could try out, right?

***

Meanwhile, a little farther into Mac Anu, a Harvest Cleric named Maximilian wandered. He was depressed, what with the Player Killers picking on him. How was he to get things done? He couldn't, that was all there was to it. He noticed a group of players and approached them. "Pardon me, but would it be asking too much to join you for some training?" He asked, and they simply kept talking as if he wasn't there. Maximilian sighed, turning around and walking over near the fountain. He sat on the fountain's barrier, watching people pass by. He needed a party. Some assistance with the Player Killers if they showed up again... But who? Where? He wasn't sure. He gripped his staff tightly and looked for a newcomer like him.

The sun was high in the sky, only a few clouds in the sky. Students were slowly making their way around the campus grounds, either heading to another lecture or finally finished and looking for some fun. It was nice, serene in its own way, as everyone enjoyed this moment of pure calm. If only they could have known, so that they may have at least remembered the last moments of normalcy, remember the last moments of peace, the last moments before the world was at its last moments of sanity...

---

Marco walked across campus grounds, a big gym bag in his hands as he walked. He looked around the campus grounds, trying to see if there was a familiar face that was anywhere to be found. Sadly, it seemed everyone was off doing something else at the moment, probably in lectures of some sort. He was lucky enough that he had finished for the day, taking some time to hit the gym with some people from the Martial Arts club. It was the only thing that was keeping him same at this point. College was a big step up from high school, and even then it had been hard enough. He wished he hadn't spent five years there, now he was a year behind in his education and struggling even more. At least he could go to the gym and smack someone or something with a nice wooden staff to take out all his stress.

Marco sighed as he stopped for a moment, exhausted from his workout for the day. He looked to the park to his right, a nice little patch of of grass and trees with benches and tables for students to study, eat, or just hang out and loiter. It would be a nice place to hang out, if it wasn't for that gross tree in the middle. He decide to cut through, staring at the good sized tree as he walked by. It was a crabapple tree, according to the sign at least. He knew it was true though, having one in his backyard when he was growing up. He hated crabapple trees crabapple. Well, it wasn't so much the trees, it was the-

SQUISH!

"Son of a-!" Marco grumbled as he peeled his sneaker of of the old and rotten crabapple. This was what he hated; the crabapples. They were an annoyance and always had been ever since he was young. He had always been in charge of picking them up when they fell off of their tree. You would leave them for a day and they'd already be moldy, slimy, and gross. His mother had always wanted to keep the tree, saying how beautiful it became in the spring, but in Marco's opinion it didn't matter how beautiful it was if it just led to something so vile.

Marco quickly wiped off his shoe in the grass as he finally made it across the field of fruity land mines, already regretting the decision to venture through them. It didn't matter though, he was still in a hurry. He quickly began jogging toward the building to the west, wanting to make it to the office buildings as soon as he could. The offices closed quite early, four in the afternoon to be exact. It had always seemed counterproductive, but the staff seemed to think other wise. Either way, it was fifteen to, and if he didn't hand in his form on time he wouldn't be able to go to the Martial Arts Competition. How embarrassing would it be if the club's captain couldn't go? Besides, there was no one else that qualified to using up and fight for those that used staffs. It was pretty important, after all, the Master Mutsu hand made it pretty clear that I'd he didn't hand it in on time *it would pretty much be a life or death situation. Besides, maybe after he did he could find his brother Frank and convince him to buy him another free meal.

---

Aria twiddled a strand of her long brown hair in her hands, bored out of her mind as she waited for class to start. It was insufferable, she'd much rather be out and doing something rather than sitting here and just... Waiting. She looked down at her notebook, a calendar as she tried to think of what was ahead of her for the res of the weak.

Monday: Buy more rations, others had gone stale already.*
Tuesday: Study a book called 'Adesse Extremum,' some book by a Latin guy.*
Thursday: Find out where she could buy some sort of flame thrower.*

To most this list would be quite odd, but in her mind it was all for the greater good.

"Hey! Helloooo?! Earth Aria!"

Aria looked back up at a girl, leaning back in her own desk and leaning on Aria's, her curly brown hair and hazel eyes giving her a rather girly vibe. "Huh?" Aria asked intelligently. The girl rolled her eyes. "I asked if you were coming to the party tonight," she repeated herself. "Alot of cute frat boys just waiting to get your number. And I heard Jeremy really wants to... 'get to know you~'" Aria merely sighed at the girl's comment, not at all excited. If anything, the girl was excited enough for the both of them. "Unless they're some sort of demon or have killed one, I'm not interested," she said plainly, as if she were serious. Sadly, she was.

"Jeez, you really get into that crap, don't you?" the girl asked wih a strange look. Aria merely shrugged. "Makes more sense than half the crap they try to force feed us on the news." The girl merely nodded slowly, only trying to end the conversation as soon as possible. "If you say so," she said strangely, turning back around in her seat. "Don't come crying to me though when you're a forty year old virgin."

Aria rolled her eyes at the girl's statement again. She was more than satisfied without going to the party. Though she secretly wished for something exciting to finally happen in this damned place.

Welcome to Tasgea

It was a prosperous nation in this country of Tasgea. Humans and Elves lived in peace. The economy was flourishing, flowers were blooming, everyone was happy. The Empire of Gerthol dominated the country, ruled by the mighty king Hardok Garlorn and his army of 3,000 elite knights known as The Enforcers. The Empire taxed the people greatly, demanding from everyone, from every farmer and every child to pay a great sum of their earnings to the empire, but to good use. The Empire promises the people unwavering protection against the beasts that lurk outside, such as Dragons, Orcs, Wyverns, Vampires, and many more. The Humans of Tasgea have greatly advanced in technology. Unlike the Orcs and the Elves, the Humans of Tasgea have invented gunpowder, battering ram, currency, advanced smithing, weightlifting equipments and the like. They dominated Tasgea because of their technological prowess and military brilliance. The Elves cohabited with them in peace. Some Elves even accustomed themselves to Human life, learning about currency, economy, and technology. The Elves, in exchange, taught humans the secret language and the secret art of Magic.

The Orcs of Tasgea, on the other hand, are a recluse. They are like wild animals. More intelligent than your most intelligent ape, yet far less intelligent than that of Humans and Elves. They kept to themselves, living in prosperity by hunting for giant wild boars and worshiping their god, Buktu. They neither feared nor hated the Humans, until one day...

King Garlorn wanted to expand his already mighty empire. He wanted to rule all of Tasgea and make the Empire of Gerthol the only empire in the country. He succeeded greatly in doing so, invading and destroying the armies of other empires with his mighty 3,000. However, he also wanted to purge all of the Orcs. He considered them a pest. Creatures that are unworthier than animals. Savages who must be annihilated. So he created the Army of Cleansing to 'Cleanse' Tasgea of the Orcs. The Army of Cleansing involved Humans and Elves who use their skills, be it fighting, healing, or trading, to help in the purging of the unwanted specie.

At first, the Orcs of Tasgea were falling easily. And it definitely seemed like it. However, a prodigy child was born. He is an Orc, named Faldu, who had a godlike charisma, incredible strength (even for Orc standards), and a mind that rivals the brilliant military strategists ruling in the Empire of Gerthol. To save the Orc race, he organized his army of Orcs the same way King Garlorn organized his great army. He formed 3,000 elite Orcs that were especially chosen for combat. He greased the palms of some greedy Humans with their secret Orc treasures to get help having some of the same technology that the Humans have, such as smithing and the creation of gigantic weightlifting equipments fit only for Orcs. What once was an easy task for the Humans slowly became a challenge. The Orc army got stronger even, and some Orcs went so far as not only to preserve their race, but also to act as barbarians who would conquer the cities of Gerthol.

"There is nothing to Fear, except Fear itself"- Franklin Roosevelt

SOMEWHERE HAPPY, TEXAS
BEEP
BEEP
BEEP

The blaring sounds of the alarm clock jolted the man asleep, and he looked at his bedroom ceiling with his dark brown eyes for a few moments before wiping the deariness from them, rolled over and hit the snooze button. The Sun shone through his open window, as if teasing him with that today might bring.

The rolled over, seeing the other half of the bed empty, his wife away, flying in the sky for work.

"Morning," he yawned...

NOW

HELL ON EARTH, COLORADO

LUB DUB
LUB DUB

The silence in the air now awoke the same man, now not in his comfortable bed stuffed with memory foam mattress, but on the ground, slumped against a tree in Golden Gate Caynon State Park.

He wiped what should be sleep from his eyes, but when closed, all he could see were the horrors of the past.

He stood up, alert and eyes darting about in case one would show up when he was most vulnerable.

No longer clean shaven, he had a small beard on the up and coming, and it itched, but he didn't wan't to leave a big trace for them to follow. So he slung his shoulder bag over grimy, what used to be a white button up shirt, and started for the direction of Denver.

After laying in bed for another moment or two, he slid out and went to go take a shower and thus begin his morning ritual.

After the shower, he got dressed with a blue button up dress shirt and some slacks for work, being a lawyer, he had to look spiffy and collected, no matter how casual he wanted.

NOW

LUB DUB
LUB DUB

As he started up once more upon his journey to the rumored Denver safe zone, the man, whose name was Micheal Powers, started on his morning ritual.

He opened his bag, while keeping his ear to the wind for any sign of them, and took out his 9mm handgun and began cleaning it as he walked, clicking the safety on and off, and checking how many rounds he had left.

So far, he had two full clips, which was safe for a 1 on 1, but anything else would be too much to handle.

As if any of this wasn't too much to handle already...

Standing at the stove, Micheal cooked himself up some eggs and a couple of pancakes, then went to town on them as he read the most recent paper.

A couple of headlines briefly caught his attention, such as OPEN GRAVES FOUND, or ANIMAL MAULINGS PUZZLE AUTHORITIES

But, he set his paper down without another glance and worked on breakfast.

NOW

He hated the silence, it was like a cruel joke, he thought as he counted his canned foods and water supply, it was as if even when those things weren't bearing down on him, they were still ever present.

Satisfied for the time being with his items, he looked up at slightly cloudy morning sky and checked his watch: it was about 8:30, and with the lake not too far on his right, he could get some water in him for his 32.5 mile journey to Denver.

Being as quiet as he could, he walked as fast as he could to the lake's edge and dropped softly to his knees before dunking his head in and drinking up as much as he could.

He was able to get in a few mouthfulls before getting the feeling that something wasn't right, and if it was one thing he learned these days, it was to trust your gut before it got eaten by the dead...

Getting up, and wiping the water from his face and blinking a few times, he saw in shock as a pack of the beasts, what he called Walkers, but were nothing more than the dead with an appetite, and watched as they sniffed the air, sensing his presence, but the water had masked it, if only for a brief few seconds.

A couple of them had peices torn from their sides, showing shattered ribs and red meaty gore, a couple had missing arms, the remaining flesh just waving in the wind, and one actually had no legs, so it was crawling about.

Hell had just spilled over...

Picking up his bag, Micheal took off at a mad run, one last look over his shoulder, the Walkers still sniffed the air, so he had a 5 second lead if today would be a good day, but it never was, so he just ran, almost blindly...

22 MILES LATER

Finally able to go no more, and finally reaching I-70, a road with s cattered and dead cars, immobile, unlike the dead that now walked the Earth, Micheal collapsed. In the distance, he could see the Walkers coming, and he had a mile lead on them, but he still had another 15 to go.

Looking behind him, he could see the city, a shadow of it's living self not too far off, but he couldn't go any longer with energy, which he didn't have.

Taking his gun from his bag, he waited, and waited, occassionally checking his watch, which now showed about 12 noon, he had been running off and on for 3 and a half hours, the most so far...

Taking one of his few precious water bottles out, he took a few treasured sips, and just kept watching as Death came marching one by one to him, sweat caked his face, and grime caked his shirt.

"This is how I die, in the belly of the beast," he sighed, trying to accept defeat, but his lawyer's nature told him not to, and as his human side began to fail, his lawyer side gave him the extra push to stand up and aim his gun.

Now with a half mile to die, he could start aiming down the sights, but then something caught his attention.

http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=qBnO4...%3DqBnO4lAr_k8

A song, sounded like Highway to Hell, but he couldn't hear the lyrics well enough, so he turned around, his back to death, and his eyes shown with hope as he watched a military truck speed down the highway, the music now blaring in his ears as the big cargo truck began to unload his firepower on the beasts.

DUSH
DUSH
DUSH
DUSH

"I love music," he roared over the gunfire and started to pump his fists to beat, and within seconds it was all over, the dead now stayed dead, and the military men were coming towards him.

"You bit, guy?" One asked, hand on his side arm.

"No sir," Micheal said with a single shake of the head, "just tired is all,"

"Well, we got room in the back, hop on and we'll take you to the Broncos game," another pointed to the city, though he held a pistol in his other hand.

Without question, Micheal obliged and went for the back of the truck, climbing over the boxes they had probably scavenged from anywhere he could get it.

Though in seconds of driving back down the road, Micheal had fallen asleep out sheer overhwelming exhaustion.

HALF HOUR LATER

Being jolted awake by a thumping sound, Micheal bolted upright, and looked towards the front.

"We here guy," an african american soldier told him through a small window, "civvies enter through this gate though," he told him.

Micheal quietly nodded and slid out, grabbing his bag and jumped out. Gazing up in shock and awe, he watched as a couple helicopters flew overhead, and the sounds of people milling about on the inner side of the stadium, and the long line of refugees standing before him.

"We made it baby," he whispered as the truck that saved his ass in the interstate started going around to somewhere else.

"Everyone's attention please!" One of the soldiers barked out with a megaphone, that sound at the first of about 5 registration desks, "anybody with any sort of wound, please go inside to the infirmary immediately, you will have a guideand everything will be ok! Also, all civilians must surrender lethal equipment to an armory guard once you enter these doors, and all medical equipment must be handed over until further word is given! That is all, you may continue,"

Checking his bag, Micheal started to realize just how limited his survival had been, he'd survied too much off the land, but as he looked up and moved through the line, that was all about to change...

Lucky stood up from her vanity, glancing around her room briefly before exiting. She walked along the halls of the castle, seeking out someone in particular. She knew where she might find him, and so she ventured to the courtyard. Sure enough, there sat her uncle, reading a book as he sat in the sun's warmth. She approached him slowly, knowing better than loudly disturb his quiet. Things in the castle had been peaceful for the most part, there was whispers of a uprising, but Lucky could not see why such a thing would occur. The people of the kingdom loved her father, and were loyal to him. She did not see why whispers like those were even reaching her ears. But nonetheless, she would ask her uncle of the problem, and see if he knew anything of it.

"Uncle Maden, may I have a word?" She asked calmly.
Her uncle looked up at her with a raise eyebrow, "Well of course your grace. What is it that troubles you?" He asked in his most charming voice. Uncle Maden had that air about him, able to calm a rioting crowd, make any situation better just by his voice. It was a quality that ran in the family, though Lucky did not believe she possessed such a quality.
"Well I hear whispers about an uprising of sorts. I wonder where they are coming from and why? I do not understand, the kingdom loves my father," Lucky began, her eyebrows knitting together in confusion.
"Oh nothing to worry about my child, just rumors nothing more. But there is something to do, if you wish to calm your unsettled mind," Her uncle began with a grin.
"Anything," She said with excitement. She wondered if it was an adventure, she had always longed to go on one. She hated being locked up in the castle, protected from living her life as she pleased. She did not see any excitement in ruling a kingdom without having any fun. She wanted to get out and enjoy herself, take risks, be adventurous. But her father never allowed her outside the walls. He was even suggesting suitors now that she had reached the correct age. Suitors! If one could think of such things. She longed for romance, for adventure, for surprises. She had no wish to rule as her father did, safe and secure. She wanted danger.
"Well, have you heard of the tale, about the seven orbs?" Her uncle asked.
"Oh yes, yes I have. But I did not think such a thing existed" Lucky said excitedly.
"why of course it does. What is a tale if not based in fact?"
"So what can I do?" Lucky asked.
"Each orb is located in a secret location. You must find them all, and return them here. Once doing so, your father will be unstoppable. Any force that may come against him, will fail," Her uncle explained, standing up and closing his book softly. He walked over to the window of the courtyard, and Lucky followed him.
"But how will I know where to look?" She asked.
"Ah my child, you must figure that out. If you decide to take on such a task. I would not advise doing so alone. This task will appear quite dangerous, you might get hurt. We all know how that simply cannot happen. But, who am I to even suggest you do such things. Your father would simply not allow it, forget I mentioned it at all," He said with a small smile.
Lucky huffed, "Right. Well thank you anyways," She said before leaving. She did not see the malicious grin on her uncle's face as she left. She was going to do it. She was going to get a few people, and take on this task for her father. It wouldn't take long, and she was sure that when she returned her father would be nothing but greatful. When she came back she would marry and be the woman that her father wanted. But first she needed to have a little fun.

She walked back to her room, and shut her door. She grabbed up her rucksack, thinking quickly. Walking over to the trunk at the base of her bed, she opened it slowly. Pulling out a pair of black woolen trousers, she quickly changed into them. She pulled on a gray tunic, a leather belt, and black leather boots. She then pulled on a long black cloak with a hood. She tied her hair in a knot and smiled to herself. She would do this. Reaching into her trunk, she lifted up all the clothes and smiled once more. There lay her staff, the one she had acquired a few years back in secret. She strapped it to her back and looked around. She would need to buy some things in town before leaving. But then again, she also had to make a stop at the local pub. Walking over to her window, she opened it and quickly climbed down the ivy that led to the ground She ran out of the castle gates as quickly as she could without being noticed. She pulled up the hood of her cloak, not wanting to be noticed by passerby. It was all she needed for her adventure to be ended before she could even start it. Waling to the blacksmith, she bought two small daggers which she clipped to her belt and continued on.

Upon arriving at the pub, she smiled to herself as she pushed open the door. As she expected, it was full. She quickly surveyes the area, and climbed onto the bar with ease. "Anyone that is willing to accompany me on an adventure, anyone at all, I will pay a hefty sum. I am looking for warriors, fighters, and people that are not afraid to do something dangerous. Please, I have enough gold to make it worth your while," She announced with a broad grin.

The Netherworld, at noon-ish~

It's a beautiful day in the Netherworld. The sky is clear and free from clouds, the green grass of the earth is lush and vivid, some birds are singing in the sparse, far-in-between trees of the area and the small, white picket-fence, where a total of three pumpkin-heads - mounted on spikes - are singing a barber-shop tune. Yes indeed, a fine day no doubt. Sure, the white-and-gray laiden stone-brick road is a bit overgrown with weeds sprouting out of the cracks and crevices, and sure grass might be a wee bit too tall, what with reaching to most peoples' navels and what not, but it is a peacful and quiet scene! Well, at least in this part of the world. Elsewhere, bloody battles and conflicts of epic proportions are no doubt unfolding, as demons and devils fight and wage war upon one another, all in a frantic bid to become the next Overlord of this Netherworld.

Luckily, this rural little area is still peaceful and calm, with lots of nice scenery and tranquil beauty. Well, that is if you can ignore the large, crumbling crater and ruins that sit atop a hill not too far off from the road. If you asked the demons living in the small, nearby village of Krut Village, you'd be told that there was once a castle or fancy mansion or some other such magnificent structure standing atop that hill, but one day, out of the blue, a mighty blast of blastiness struck down from the clear sky and vaporized the entire place - turning it into nothing but a pile of rocks and rubble. Sure, people went to investigate - and dig around for treasures - after the fires and smoke cleared, but it seemed most everything was just either zapped into oblivion, or buried under tons upon tons of rock and debris. So, eventually, everyone gave up and ignored it - since it was a pain.

... Well, almost everyone, at least...

You see, the villagers and Krut recently got two strangers who stopped by and took up lodging at their inn. One a man, one a woman, both dressed in weathered and worn, brown cloaks and hoods. Each and every day, they get up at sunrise and walk on out to the crumbled, desolate ruin, spending the entire day using a pickaxe and shovel to dig around in the collapsed heaps of stone, and every day they return long after the sun has set. People here in Krut have come to call them the Obsessive Treasure Hunters, though they try not to call the two that when they're around - it's quite likely both of them are aware, and unconcerned, with the nicknames.

But let's forget about them for awhile! Krut is a lovely little place - as far as Netherworld villages go. A town made out of wooden and white framework houses, with golden hay-laiden roofs and quaint little windows. It has most everything you could expect from a little, independant town like this - an inn, a general goods store, a windmill, a farm, a well, several residential houses, a town hall and some other nick-nacks and paddy-wacks. The majority of the residents are demons, but there are a few monster-residents as well - humans are not present, or welcome, in this backwater little hamlet.

So, why would anyone want to come to Krut? Good question, the place doesn't really offer much in the department of excitement or prosperity. You could trade at the local market, but they mostly just deal in local goods, and the general store has a very limited selection of items you could get in most any other town or city. The only real, big point of interest used to be the big, swanky castle-mansion-whatever on the hill, but since it turned into a big ol' crater some time ago, nobody really cares about that anymore - apart from those two goofballs who keep trying to excavate it. Truth be told, there ain't much to draw people in here in Krut. Some pass by and through on their way to bigger cities, or more important places, other come to seek some quiet and calm. Others come to raid the town for loot and plunder... Well, that should be expected...

The goings-on today are as usual, the town kids are running around in the streets and fields in and around the town, the elderly folk are complaining about their poor backs, how things were better in the good ol' days and how young people today are too sassy and smart-alecky. The rest of the villagers (grown-ups) are busy with their chores or jobs. The town is preparing for the annual, Krut Mid-Summer Festival, though - and a lot of talk is going on about that. Who'll grow the biggest pumpkin? Who'll win the Dance-Around-and-Light-the-Flower-Pole-on-Fire competition? Who'll beat up the mayor after he gets drunk and starts repeatedly making annoying, drawn out toasts? Things like that and more are the small-talk of the day.

Unexpectedly though, today would be a day that marked a series of strange events, which would originate right here in Krut... Involving a bunch of individuals, who for one reason or another, just happened to be around or in the area at the time...

Blood growled animalistically and threw a knife angrily at a large map that hung on the wall. His eyes were narrowed and they glowed slightly with an anger that was hot and not advised to be around. He pulled at his black bandanna, which had become tight around Blood's thick neck. The veins popped from his neck as he plopped down in a rickety old chair.

He then looked at the map and crossed his arms. "Everyone get ready!" he yelled. "We headin' out to St.Joes in the mornin'!" Blood yelled to his crew. He looked around the cave at the band of outlaws, then pulled a cigarette from his coat and laid it on his lip. They weren't a half bad crew, but Blood would never admit it. They would outlive their usefulness and he would be done with them in due time. He leaned back in his chair and lit the cigarette with a match that had been struck alight on his boot heel.

A slow, menacing smile grew on his face and his straight, although yellowed teeth showed through his dirty lips. "We got a caravan to jack..." he chuckled.
Jeremiah stretched out, scratching his head as he slipped his muddy brown boots on his feet. He pulled on a pair of tan slacks, a white collared shirt with a brown leather vest, as well as a matching leather hat. He looked at the rising sun as he left the inn, where he had been living for eight years now. The town was buzzing softly with the other early risers and caravan owners getting ready to head west. This was finally Jeremiah's chance to travel west, and he was as ready as anyone else here.

Jeremiah was traveling alone... it was a bit of a rough thing to be alone. Even in a group of travelers. Jeremiah didn't know anyone personally, that he knew of, and he had to take care of four mules. What if something happened to him? No one would be there to take care of him, and the mules would starve.

Jeremiah took a glance at the old jail, where the sheriff was sitting on the porch with his bloodhound at his feet. The sight of the wanted posters made Jeremiah swallow hard. All of those criminals on the loose? What an unnerving thought. Jeremiah continued towards his stagecoach.

Gazzal captain of the Demon guard entered the chamber of the old ones. "My lord Exizal we have reports from the hell gate i believe you must hear." he said as he sank to one knee and bowed before the last of the Old Ones
The giant demon ,on his seat in the center of the line of seven great thrones, opened his eyes and spoke to Gazzal, "Varry well then speak."
"My lord our scouts tell us that armies of hell are gathering and begining to stage on their side of the gate. some have even said they may have spotted Lucifer him self, my lord could this be the start of the final battle?"
Exizal shifted of his throne. "It may possibly be Gazzal, however, do you remember what we spoke of the last time I called for you here?"
"Yes my lord."
"Good...They are ready, do as i have instructed you to do. they may be our only chance of defeating him this time."
"yes my lord your will be done" Gazzal stood and walked to the center of the room where a small pillar stood, and from it he took several round spheres, each containing the essence of a new born demon." My lord are you sure they will Bond to the right partner?" he looks worried as he gazes upon the Old One towering above him.
"Yes I am sure, and i have given them enough knowledge to help them find each other."
The Demon captain leaves the chamber.
"I only hope they awaken soon enough."
