What is Roleplayer Guild?
Roleplayer Guild is basically a forum based play-by-post roleplaying community. Members engage in interactive writing where they control characters that respond to one another and develop throughout a storyline.

Roleplaying and How it Works
In the roleplay forums (like Fantasy Roleplay), users can create their own thread that introduces a storyline, plot, or basically an adventure. In this thread, the thread leader may include a brief history of the roleplay's setting as well as introduce the character he will be playing. Once the setting, general essential information, and the thread leader's character are introduced, other RPGuild members can join the thread introducing their own characters by establishing how their character fits in to the thread's setting and storyline.

From here, the thread leader and participating members take turns posting in their character's perspective, interacting with the other characters of the thread, and advancing through the adventure together.

This is very synonymous with D&D and other pen and paper RPGs, except that there's room for even greater creativity and development, and the “dice rolling” is left strictly up to your own reasoning.

The Roleplaying Forums
- Beginners Roleplay - This forum is for members that are practicing their roleplaying, or simply dipping their foot in the water and trying thrings out. The rules here are less strict and are aimed towards helping members get the hang of roleplaying. Additionally, threads from the other forums that need work or contain posters that need more experience are moved to this forum. If you've never been involved in a play-by-post roleplay before, you should start here!
- Fantasy Roleplay - The setting here ranges from high-fantasy (think dwarves and dragons) to ages before our time (perhaps cavemen or early civilizations).
- Modern/Sci-Fi Roleplay- This setting contains futuristic settings but also present day and ranges reasonably into the past (Colonialism).
- The Arena - Roleplay here involves fighting and dueling. Players here can battle eachother. I'd suggest taking a look at Blackfire's Arena Overview.

Get out there and roleplay!
The fastest and most effective way to learn how to roleplay is to dig in and start posting. The experience comes quick and the rope is easy to get the hang of.
