All Hail the Dark Queen OOC thread

Thank you for taking interest in my roleplay All Hail the Dark Queen. Here is how it works. I would be roleplaying as the young Queen Mytorane, a sweet young girl that inherited an entire empire, one that was obtained through pasts conquests and maintained through acts of brutality by her father to trash revolution and strike fear into the people. Everyone else in the roleplay is a person that lives in the main castle or surrounding area, and are people that would frequent/dwell in the castle for whatever reason. In that, you can be anyone from an adviser to a pleasure slave, and all that rests in between.

Now, standard roleplaying rules apply, as well as the rules in the TOS. The goal is to have fun and play around, and so that we do!

Oh, and no character sheet required, just describe who your character is and what they are in the intro post.

Can I roleplay as a rebel in a group that aims to hold the young Empress hostage due to lack of aid in their desolate, problem-ridden province?

Well, I'll allow it, as it does add something interesting to the roleplay. I would like everyone to note that I would prefer only a few of you to be active rebels, though rebel or not it wouldn't stop you from hating the Queen.

I believe the object of this role-play is character development.
That idea would be plot development.
Honestly, I'm not to keen on playing in another generic story.
The idea as it is holds me. I don't know about waging war.


I'm going to be a pleasure slave, simply because it challenges me not only because this thread is in advanced, but because my own inhibitions may be a good contributing factor here.

Exactly. That is why I don't want every second character to be an active rebel. Bonkutsu, I want you to note that a random rebel would be unable to simply take the queen, so there might be a chance your character wallows in the dungeon for a lovely portion of the time, once s/he's caught of course.

In my view, with such a cutthroat empire, it wouldn't be all that hard to take advantage of the halfhearted leader. I mean, aren't there greedy advisers with their eyes on the throne that could easily have made bargains with whatever 'random' rebel groups have formed? It would likely have to be an inside job.

But, to be honest, isudae, I don't see much wrong with developing a plot. Characters don't exist in a vacuum, and plot is a way of developing them. Also, I wasn't exactly thinking of starting a war - just some intrigue.

What about the rumor of a rebellion? That would cause gossip among the staff of the young heiress and thus be plot.

Good idea. Now, of course she would be under fire from advisors and whatnot, but to note, just because she has a heart doesn't mean she is a bad leader.

Actually, I'm still waiting to see how it settles out with everyone. I'm sure I'll jump on someone else's direction. Or, after this busy span of work is over, I'll have enough creative energy to go it alone. Whichever comes first.
