Hey Drg128, you might want to re-read your last post. It had quite a few errors in it. I'm not usually the picky type and would normally let it slide, but this is Advanced and the thread does require a careful review of your posts before putting them up.

Name: Cassandra Walker
Gender: Female Age: 25 Job Title: Doctor competing for a spot on the team. Field: Mutation and Abnormal Psychology Notes: Is of West Indian and Egyptian descent. Carries a rather light southern accent that makes everything she says sounds polite and gentle - even when she is upset. (It also aids her when she's sarcastic, making her jokes seem more brutal then what she originally intended.) She's colorblind but can still differentiate at times - enough so it doesn't get in the way of her work, at least. Personality: Blunt, straight to the point and not afraid to say what's on her mind even if it incites a fight or two. On a lighter side, she's very outgoing and can never say 'no' which makes people think she's a push-over. (Sadly mistaken) |

Welcome to the team Exquisite, just remember to follow the rules, make sure your posts are at least 2 well written paragraphs, and have some fun. The color formatting isn't 100% required but it makes it easier for me to read so please do so if you can. Drg I hate to be a stickler but Rouge said it best, this is the advanced forum so please make sure to proofread and try to keep it to 2 paragraphs or more.

I want to remind you all to read all new posts prior to posting your own. A few of you have just entered House's office, which is fine, except you somehow all failed to notice that Cassandra Walker (Exquisite Taste's character) was standing outside the door waiting for House to allow her to enter. If a character is waiting for me to wave them in you all cannot suddenly be in my office, because then why isn't she. Instead interact with her in front of the door and all of you can wait together. Remember you cannot control my character to allow yourselves entry, you must wait for me to post saying I asked for you to come in. If you want to you can always enter without my response, but then expect House to be mad. This isn't aimed at anyone specific and this isn't a lecture, I am just reminding you all of, not only the rules of this thread, but also the rules of the advanced forum. We want a story that flows nicely and makes sense and in order to do that we have to have all the facts before posting. And make sure to keep those posts two or more well developed paragraphs. The rules for the advances forum technically call for at least three paragraphs of at least five sentences each. You will all notice that I rarely post three paragraphs, but then again my paragraphs are usually 10-15 sentences. I do not care if you only post two paragraphs, but I mean it when I say well-developed. Well developed also refers to proper grammar and spelling, there is nothing wrong with typing your response in MS Word first to make use of the spell/grammar checker. It is not 100% accurate but it will be an improvement nonetheless. I am not a total grammar/spelling fiend, I am a trained english teacher and a writer/editor but I understand mistakes are made. I make plenty of mistakes myself, but try to keep it as neat and correct as possible. I am seeing a lot of short posts which fail to develop the characters and advance the plot. Not only does this weaken the story but it is against the standards of this forum. Again I hope no one takes offense to this because it is just me playing referee to make sure that we create a good story. Thanks for reading, keep up the good work, and have fun.
Best, Azzy

I have to say, that one part that doesn't flow is the part where Dr. House goes to check on the interns and Dylan and Kinga are both signed in. Yet Dylan went out to get the Indian food?
In my last post I had put for Kinga to ask Dylan for advice but I had accidentally used the wrong name. I fixed my post so it makes sense now but I think that it doesn't run very smoothly. Drg, its OK if you don't have time. But if you don't have time to properly read through the previous posts just wait until you do. This thread isn't a super fast one and we'd rather have well developed paragraphs than have you posting just to make a post. Just relax, it isn't a race =) And sorry if my grammar isn't the best. I read through my posts and try to fix the mistakes but my English isn't what it used to be since I've been living abroad. I actually joined the site to get it back up to par before I take my SATs.

I don't see much a mistake on my part but I guess my posts are a little bit under the standards so I'll be sure from this post on to also put some more description into what I post.

To All:
Understand that the main point of my post is to address the problems that are inherent to not reading other's posts. Post length, grammar, and spelling were just secondary issues that aren't as important. As I have said, I too make mistakes and I expect them. If the announcement didn't seem to apply to you then it probably didn't. I also want you all to understand that this post wasn't to make anyone feel bad or wrong. I am not yelling at anyone or lecturing, but rather I am just refereeing so that we all can write a good story together. If I am coming off as a jerk, please let me know for that is not my intention. To Total: Your writing is just fine. I see very few errors and as I had said I do not care much about minor errors anyway. I understand there will be errors. First of all, there are so many different styles/versions of the English language that grammar rules vary. Secondly, many professional writers, even after an editor reviews it, break grammar rules all of the time. And finally, I only want it to be readable and it to flow nicely, it doesn't have to be technically perfect. I am sure there are parts of grammar that you have never even heard, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are parts that I haven't even though it is my profession. All in all I am saying, do not worry you are doing great! To Drg: If you feel you must drop out that is fine. I do not want you to, I am enjoying your presence in the game, and I think you have a lot to offer, but if you cannot keep up then it is best you quit instead of being stressed out. I have recently dropped out of several beginner games because I could not keep up with their rapid posting schedule. Many times I would log on one day and read all of the posts and then the next there would be three or four more pages worth of posts, but being an advanced game this is never on such a rapid pace. Rarely do I see more than two or three new posts each day so you should have plenty of time to craft your post. I too am very busy and I understand if you have a busy life. I do not expect you to put your real life affairs on hold for a roleplay, but I could offer some strategies I use to balance a busy life with my online roleplaying. 1. I log on and read all of the posts, but I do not post yet. 2. I copy all of the posts and paste them onto MS Word. 3. I re-read the posts on MS Word when I am not too busy (sometimes even in the short breaks I have). 4. I begin to type my response according to the posts I have, I take my time sometimes taking all day. I do just bits and pieces at a time when I have free time. 5. I proofread and then use spellcheck. 6. I check the thread and see if any new posts have come, if they haven't I post, if they have I edit mine to make it fit then I post. I know that seems like a lengthy process but it balances well with other responsibilities and ensures that you do not have to look over the post and edit it after it is up. If you do not have time to post then just take your time, this is a slow paced thread. If you do need to quit, I understand completely. I will be sad to see you go, but if it will benefit the game and yourself then it should be done. I would prefer it if you didn’t just disappear though, as that wouldn’t flow well. One final post removing yourself from the game would be nice. Your character could always quit, in the games I dropped out of I killed my character off. Obviously that does not fit here but be creative. Post here letting my know what you want to do.

dude i'm probably not dropping out, but i'm just giving you a heads up if I make a mistake and don't notice it it's because i'm at the library because my comp broke and I only have a few minutes. I'd do more but I have had a project to finish so I spend most of my time on that, but I should be getting it fixed soon then you can expect better quality posts.
