It's he, for a start. And seriously, guys, why do you need everything explained to you OOC before you start to interact with it? I haven't read any of your profiles and I'm managing just fine. No offence meant but it's quite easy to adapt without a full explanation OOC of what's going on all the time.

well, he still has to ask for permission to post from the threadstarter, right? it's common courtesy...and it's kinda her (al) right to refuse or to allow a person to join...

Ata, after the whole spamming thing new members can't receive or send PMs until... I think it's 2 days after they join.

Lucien, not checking things up and getting things sorted out OOC on this site is generally how RPs die. *Says a prayer for dead RPs* It's just best to be efficient. Try not to get annoyed.

I'm not so much annoyed as frustrated. Call me old-fashioned but isn't RP meant to be about response to IC actions with limited explanation OOC? If something isn't made clear through the player's IC writing then they aren't doing their job as a writer.

That aside, I've never in five years as a forum roleplayer had to ask permission to join a thread. People wonder why good quality RP died and it's because of this domination by people who think they are the Gods of Good RP and that everyone else should follow their lead. I'm not trying to target anything at you guys as individuals, but "common courtesy" to ask to join an RP?...It's my/his character joining a scenario, not me/him. If RP is meant to reflect real life circumstances through fictional characters and scenarios, then I don't remember ever asking permission to do something like walk into a room in real life... Seriously though, tell me if I'm completely wrong here.

Well, it's not considered so bad in RPs that are open with only a few people, and indeed we do get a lot of intake on this thread, but it's generally a good idea to at least PM whoever made the thread about it, as the RP may be closed to new people. After all, we may get people who haven't read the thread's rules properly or something running in. I don't really have a problem with it as long as it's okay with Ata, and you make a good point, but could you remind your mate to post a profile on the OOC here please?
