Yin and Yang. Two energies, as different as day and night, yet united as one. Yin governs over all that is Cold, Evil, Dark, Dead, etc, while Yang is the leader of all that is Warm, Good, Light, Alive, etc. They are in everything, and they are everywhere, but they come from the center of the universe.

As the result of the unification, Cosmic Energy came to be. It stretched across the vast and empty space that was the universe, and wherever it went, stars, planets, and other things formed. When a solar system was created, a new thing began. It was known as life.

When life formed, part of the energy broke of from Yin and Yang, and traveled many light years to be implanted into one being: the Human. Inside the human, the energy took shape and developed the ability to think, thus, at that moment, it began to tell the human of their origins, the way the energy worked and the balance was kept, for without balance, everything falls apart.

And the human listened to the energy, which deemed itself a spirit. With it as a guide, the human learned how to live, and how to keep in harmony with nature. When someone cut down a tree to use for building a hut, they would plant a seed in its place. When someone killed an animal for meat, they would be sure to use all parts of the animal, so it would be unnecessary to kill another one. As the humans learned, they discovered something new about them. They could manipulate, control one of the four elements at will. The spirits told them how to use their powers, and they grew stronger. When one manipulator became the first master, the spirit underwent a transformation. Inside of the person, it changed its form from human to animal, and then emerged from the body. It was now external, but it kept a mental connection with its body and never left its side. From that point on, whenever a human mastered his/her element, the spirit would change form; it would become a dolphin for water, a dragonfly for air, a puma for fire, and a bear for earth, and it would leave and protect it’s body. But this was also dangerous, for now that the spirit was external, it could be killed easily by another spirit.

Soon after a group of humans became masters, they left the village where all of the human beings were and went to explore the world. What they found was incredible; a new environment, not just one, but thousands. The humans recorded what they saw, and their spirit guides told them what they were, for they knew about everything associated with nature and the energy. They returned with many stories, and, surprisingly, new abilities. While they were exploring, they stumbled upon several gems. They were elemental gems; whoever touched one of these gems would be able to control a new element, until they learned all four.

Thousands of years later, and the small village where all humans once lived has disappeared. Instead, hundreds of new villages and dozens of giant cities lined the face of the planet. But knowledge that the spirits knew never died out, instead, it grew. Some cities and many villages now built temples too Yin and Yang, even though they knew full well that Yin and Yang was swirling energy, not physical things like the spirits were. But still, they worshipped this energy for creating them and the environment around them, and they still kept on with the ancient ways of keeping in harmony with nature. But not all did.

Some humans have turned greedy and power hungry. They wish to discover the portal to Yin and Yang, and when they are there, they want to steal the energy for themselves, which would make those people the greatest and most powerful beings ever to exist. But doing so will cause the delicate balance to tip and everything will fall apart, causing chaos and destruction to everything except those people, for they will be immortal and indestructible.

Now, to stop these people, several humans must join forces and find a way to fight these people and in turn save the entire universe from a catastrophic end.

All right, now I would like to give some information to clear things up:

Spirits: Energy that came directly from Yin and Yang, and has taken a physical form inside humans during the beginning of life. When a human masters their element, the spirit undergoes a transformation inside the human being and emerges in the form of an animal related to their element. The external spirit now acts as a guide for its body in the world, explaining things to the body that it may have questions on, nature-wise, as in they only know things about nature, the energy, and the elemental powers. The spirit never talks; instead it has a mental connection with the body and explains things by thought, whether it is inside or outside the body. Spirits leave bodies because when humans become elemental masters, they no longer need the protection given to them by internal spirits. A spirit is able to be killed by another spirit, although it rarely happens. Bodies cannot kill spirits unless they can control more then one element. Spirits can kill bodies, unless a spirit is still in the form of a human inside a body, then only another human can kill it. If a human becomes very sinful, then, regardless of whether or not a spirit is external in the form of an animal or internal in the form of a human, the spirit will leave the body and take over an area of land, now becoming the Spirit of this and this Forest or this and this River or Mountain or whatever. Although people do not need spirits to live, spirits explain things to the humans, thus making them more knowledgeable about the world around them. Hopefully, I explained to you everything in Part 1.

Part 2 of Spirits. I will also be explaining elemental control in this part.

I did research on this thing, that’s why I chose these animals; they fit in with the elements the best.

Water: Spiritual animal: Dolphin. The dolphin is the bridge between Man and Water, Dolphins teach the ways of the Ocean. A Spirit in the form of a dolphin is a blue, nearly transparent image of a dolphin that seems to be “swimming” in air.
Strengths: Water manipulators control Water, Ice, Steam, Mist, Plants and Animals. They can also heal, and have an icy breath that freezes people for a short while. Water manipulators are strongest at night, under the moon. They reach full power under the full moon.
Weakness: Water manipulators cannot control their element if their arms and legs are pinned. They cannot heal internal wounds, such as misplaced organs or a broken bone, and healing for large wounds does not happen instantly. They can only control Animals (humans included) if the moon is full.

Air: Spiritual animal: Dragonfly. A dragonfly is a carefree, swift animal that symbolizes the whirlwind, so it is a suitable animal for the element of air. A Spirit in the form of a dragonfly takes the appearance of a large, green, nearly transparent dragonfly. It’s huge. Prehistoric size.
Strengths: Air manipulators control Air, Tornadoes, Hurricanes and the Climate.
Weakness: Air manipulators cannot fly. If they try to control the climate in one area, they must be very careful while doing that, or else there will be very dangerous consequences.

Fire: Spiritual animal: Puma. A puma is a fierce and courageous beast, much like flame and the fire manipulator. A Spirit in the form of a puma looks like a golden, nearly transparent cougar.
Strengths: Fire manipulators can control Flame, Lava and Lightning. They can also breath Fire. Fire manipulators are strongest during the day, when the sun is out. They reach full power when the sun is shining brightly onto them.
Weakness: Fire can only be controlled if there is air to breath. Lightning is only able to be made when the sun is shining.

Earth: Spiritual animal: Bear. A bear is a strong and powerful animal, just like earth itself. An external Spirit of an earth manipulator is a brown, nearly transparent bear.
Strengths: Earth manipulators can control Earth, Sand and Metal.
Weakness: Earth manipulators cannot control their element if there hands and feet are not free (i.e., if their hands and feet are frozen, burned, those things.)

Some more info. :

1. The elements are able to be formed from thin air.
2. If you gain the power to control another element, you must learn how to control it.
3. Spirits can also control the elements.
4. If your mother is, say, an air manipulator and your dad is a fire, you can still be an earth manipulator.

Gems: There are gems scattered across the globe, more then one. Much more. These gems are:

Aquamarine: Gives the person who finds it the ability to control water.
Emerald: Gives the person who finds it the ability to control earth.
Crystal: Gives the person who finds it the ability to control air.
Ruby: Gives the person who finds it the ability to control fire.

Although they are scattered across the planet, most reside in the temples, brought there by people who weren’t masters, for someone who isn’t a master is unable to gain the power of a gem.

There are also two different gems out there, the white and black diamonds. Legend states that whoever gains the power of either one of these diamonds will be able to open a portal to Yin and Yang. The Black diamond is the also known as the diamond of Yin, whoever finds it can control darkness itself. The White diamond is also the Diamond of Yang, whoever finds it can control light at will. However, there is only on white diamond and one black, and you are only able to gain the power if you are a master in all four elements.

To gain the power of a gem, you must grasp it in your hand, and the energy will travel into your body. If there is more then one person with you, then you could all get the power by:

A. Either touch the gem at the same time or
B. Hold onto the person that is receiving the power. Then, the power will travel into you.

8. For serious RPers only who feel that they will be able to follow the above rules and not leave a roleplay in the middle of the action. If you must leave the RP, then please announce it in the OOC for any or no reason and please state what you would like to do with your character.

My character:

Name: Vada
Age: 16
Element: Water
Master?: Not yet.
Spirit?: Yes. Internal.
Good or Evil?: Good
Appearance: 6’0’’, 140 lbs., Fair skin, Blue eye color and long black hair.
Personality: Cool and collected, fierce when she has to be.
Bio: Vada grew up in a village occupied by mostly water and air manipulators, near a giant river. Unlike her friends, Vada had never been the one to play around with her power, instead she always practiced very hard in order to become a great master. Although she is very skilled, she has yet to arrive at the rank of master, although she does get better everyday and she claims to “feel” her internal spirit begin to transform, although it is unknown if she really “feels” it or if she just imagines that due to the fact that she yearns very hard to be a master. Her spirit isn’t telling her anything about the transformation, except that she just has to “continue practicing.”

As soon as she heard about the plans to suck the energy from Yin and Yang, she packed a few of her things and left her house in the dead of the night, leaving behind a note. She believes that things must be kept the way they are, and if those people want to destroy the balance they would have to go through her first. She is currently searching for other people like her in order to join forces with them.
