Los Muertos, 2008 A.D.
Los Muertos was a thriving city in New Mexico. The city's bustling economy made it seem like a good place for SaniTech to set up its operations. They purchased a large amount of land, and build a nuclear power plant on it. All went well. SaniTech provided energy for the city, allowing it to grow even further, and safely disposed of its toxic waste, or at least as safely as they could. In return, the city kept SaniTech in business. But nothing can be perfect, and one day an amateur burglar saw SaniTech as the perfect target. He climbed the fence and made a break for the plant, but one of the trained attack dogs managed to get a bite in on his shoulder. Bleeding, he made it into the main building. The burglar, although wounded, decided to keep going, and snuck through the plant to find some loot. Disabling a security guard, he was unlocking the door to an office when the power went off. Outside, a large thunderstorm was brewing. He could now hear the raindrops pattering on the roof. Deciding that sneaking around in the dark was a bad idea, he took all the things he had collected and walked towards the exit. Suddenly, he ran into something, did a flip, and started falling. Screaming, he dropped the bag, which ended up on the floor, sliding away from the railing he had slammed into. A loud splash could be heard as the burglar hit the bottom of Toxic Waste Vat #2. As he floated, his DNA began to change. The toxic waste entered freely by way of his wound, and mingled freely in his bloodstream. He became partially dog, as the fault of the DNA the attack dog had left in him when it had bitten him, and he grew large fangs and his nails grew into claws. His brain was also fused with a dog, and three commands became all he could obey: hunt, eat, sleep. Suddenly, he awoke from unconsciousness. Groaning, he swam towards the ladder on the side of the vat. When he reached the top, he was hit with a sudden insatiable taste for one thing: human flesh. He had become the first zombie. One month later, Los Muertos was overrun. SaniTech had tried to reassure the population, but in a panic they all rushed into the streets and made easy targets for the early zombies. A few handfuls of smarter people barricaded themselves in five places:
Los Muertos: "The Dead" The zombie virus is spread by being bitten. A zombie will then drag you to the Nuclear Power Plant, eat some of you, and throw you in the toxic waste. If not thrown in, or not treated, you will die. The virus can be treated by a DNA replacement (only possible at the SaniTech Testing Facility), or death can be delayed by a syringe full of antitoxin, available in both the testing facility and the hospital. The virus can be spread to animals as well as people. The virus can only not infect the dead. Zombies can move at all normal speeds, but operate at only two modes: walking and running. A zombie can move just as fast as a regular person, but has slower reflexes and is harder of hearing. A zombie's brain is fully functional, but for a person their mind is barred by the mind of the animal, and all they can do is think sad thoughts as they disembowel someone. However, humans have nearly full motor functions, barred only by the fact that their claws are too long to do things like grip doorknobs and are reduced to simply ramming into the door until it breaks. A zombie's long claws allow it many ways of paralyzing and/or infecting a human. It can latch onto them and bite them, or simply bite someone. A zombie is perfectly capable of simply tearing a human apart until he or she is dead, but only if it is enraged. Your normal zombie will move at walking speeds, and will start running if it gets close to you. Total List of Buildings:
Residents do not have to necessarily be Spanish, but must be able to IC speak some Spanish. i.e. Ethan Stellaris converses with the store owner in Spanish, then turns to his partner. "The train leaves at eleven. Let's go!" Buildings are spoken of in different ways. "Let's go to La Diversión!", but "Let's go to the Elementary!" because the Elementary has Los Muertos as a name. You would also say, "Let's go to the sewers!" because the sewers has no name. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Name: Age: Gender: Profession (if any): Weapon(s): Starting Location: Name: Ethan Stellaris Age: 20 Gender: Male Profession (if any): Veterinarian Weapon(s): Benelli M4 Super 90 and a Walther P99 Starting Location: La Huir Train Station

Wow. Not one single reply, despite having 1 or 2 people willing to join in the interest check. I guess this RP isn't very interesting.

I'd be interested, but I have too many problems with the world setting.
I'd say my major problem is with the City; I've been to Michigan a few times, but I've never seen such a very, VERY Mexican city that far North, especially with every building and major place named in Spanish... That, and the explanation of the Zombies was definitely lost on me when it came to the Dog bite gene transfusion thing. It's good to see some innovation, but that just sounds to, well... hairy for me. Again, not trying to be a jerk or anything, just explaining why I can't get into it, because I love Zombie stuff; it's the only kind of horror that honestly scares me. |

1. Well, it's kind of like Chinatown. Is Chinatown near China?
2. I kind of wanted to drift from the whole virus thing and be creative. Zombies are pretty much impossible anyway, so who cares if it's hairy?

1. Chinatown is rarely a WHOLE city named entirely in Chinese... and usually appears in a place were a lot of Chinese immigrate through. Like I said, I've yet to see a lot of Mexican Immigrants in Michigan, large enough for a big city all too themselves.
2. Creative is one thing, but we're talking Uncanny Valley of Zombies. Sure, for the most part the whole idea of zombies is impossible; but a somewhat plausible explanation(such as a mentally degenerative virus that leaves the host a stumbling moaning idiot with sociopathic/cannibalistic tendencies) or with no explanation at all(Romero style) just seemed like a better route to me than that. But hey, your show; I was just giving some constructive criticism. |

Feel free, but constructive criticism usually involves some suggestion on how to fix it.
If you want, I'll change the state to New Mexico.
