Default Diplomacy Two OOC

This is a game of international conflict. Kinda like risk except that you have to express your "turn" threw roleplay. IC

As for the rules I didn't want to make them complex or confining so as long as we can keep things under control we will have a fairly simple set of rules as defined below.

1)Fuel conflict with story, theres plenty of ways to do this

2)You can design your own race just becareful when doing so. Don't make a super species.
3)When ever theres a major change in land owner ship Its update will be shown here. So remember to check every once in a while.
4)Players may at anytime request a update on events going on the game. This is in to help people keep up or join later than usual.

5) Tech limit is the age of sails.
6) Magic will be judged when ever an issue comes up with magic usage.
7) if you believe something to be unfair in IC then you can bring up the issue in the OOC where we will discuss it. If it cannot be resolved by discussion then their will be a flat out vote.

Alright as for the map, I haven't made territories because I feel they may become to restricting. When you join the game pick a part of the map you want for yourself then tell me where to put it (I originally allowed others to edit the map too but the transfer from computer to computer caused distortion so now only I edit it)
so here it is

This time Diplomacy does have a small back story although its there for mostly looks although it may have bigger impacts IC. Also this only references what happened directly after Diplomacy one ended. Theres not much need to know what happened before that because this is set far off in the time scale. In fact this is more of an interesting thing for those returning from the first diplomacy.

It was not till the Essok agreed to support the Hiigarians that the planet was doomed to the final winter. Around the same time a great battle was fought on what is now referred to the Island of strife. Four forces, The Shadog, The Reichan, The Draconians, and the Hiigarians, were quickly moving to take the island. The Reichan and the Draconians were both resident to that location and held great grudges against one another. The Draconians were the keepers of a legendary key said to be able to fuse worlds together. They kept the key hidden away in their heavily fortified home to stop the arrogant Hiigarians from permanently altering the world, possibly for the worse. The Draconians also wanted this key so that they manipulate the Hiigarians under their control. And it seemed as if this goal would soon be within their grasp as their army marched towards the Draconian homeland. But then something unexpected happened. A Shadog fleet landed on the island after retreating from Essok lands to lick their wounds and gather magic runes from the ships that littered the coast. Once they heard of the key and the oncoming battle however, they promised to send aid to the Draconians. All the while the Hiigarian crept along the coasts. On opposite shores they made a secret pact with the Essok who were hungry for vengeance against the Shadog.

When the Reichan arrived at the main gates of the Dracon city the Shadog were no where to be found, nor was the key. The Reichan’s quickly decimated the city and all the Dracon within it while the Shadog fled home to set up some way to protect the key. Once the Dracon realized what happened it was not long until they began heading towards Organd, homeland of the Shadog. The Katarie who at this point were still communicating with the Essok told them of the key’s where abouts which led to the Hiigarians to know. It became a race to see who could get their first. The Reichan were the first to arrive and began a brutal warfare which decimated much of northern Organd but the middle and south were held too strongly for them to take. The Reichan were almost completely pushed out when the Katarie arrived to lend aid to the Shadog. This was overshadowed when a fleet of Hiigarians and Essok landed and nearly destroyed all of Organd. Mooreland, the capital city of the Shadog, was the last hold and was completely supplied by their Katarie allies. In a attempt to rush the battle the Hiigarians used magic to created a massive and deadly blizzard within Mooreland. The result left thousands dead. Even Hiigarians and Essok were caught up in the storm. The remaining Hiigarians stormed the city and quickly gathered the key from within and set sail for the only place in the world where they could use its magic. The worlds armies were mostly destroyed or given too little time to react. There was one nation left however that would take a shot at stopping the Hiigarians. The path to the southern pole was filled with brutal combat between the flying Lanthean airships and the icy giant Hiigarian ships. Upon reaching shores the Hiigarians set off as many blizzards as they could to tear apart the Lantheon ships and the Lantheons dropped as many explosives as they could to decimate the Hiigarians. Eventually the conflict was brought down to scattered groups of injured soldiers from both armies racing to the gate that lie at the south pole. Unfortunately the Hiigarians holding the key made it their first and unleashed hell upon the world. The Hiigarians thought that the gate would release their gods but the true purpose of the gate was to renew the planet. Upon activating it massive meteors flew down from the sky and crashed into the icy land. The shockwaves killed all those at the southpole instantly along with melting its entirety causing floods world wide. At the same time massive earth quicks that could sink entire citys and build new mountain ranges occurred all over the planet. When it was all over the world and the inhabitants within it were nearly unrecognizable. The broken races of the world however were given the promised winter. Ashes from the asteroids and meteors sent the world into an ice age which has completely subsided within modern times. New nations and races have begun dotting the maps but some of older species still can be found scattered through out the world.

Country Name: Terre D'oiseaux(also nicknamed Land of Flightless Birds.)

Map Color: Blue

Inhabitants: Hibou- A owl like humanoid incapable of flight.(there will be a picture later.)

Government Style: Feudal Monarchy.

Culture: Legend has it that the Hibou could once fly and this has not been forgotten by them. They are generally are one of two schools of thought. There are the Highbreds, whom believe that they as a race were cursed and dream of oneday taking to the skies again. The majority of the Hibou are Highbreds and usually are the more hyper and arrogant part of society. The other faction of the Hibou culture are the Scarlet Worshippers. The Scarlet worshippers also believe that their race once had flight but believe it was taken away for a reason. They worship a ancient race of wolf like beings once called Shadogs. There are very few left and they mostly wander forests as nomads. There rarity has caused them to fall into legend.
There military goes by a rule of speed of power and thus they make use of lighter armors made of leather, fur, bone, or wood to protect themselves. They are also known for their great libraries which often adorn all of there towns. Most religious centers are not found in convientant places within towns but rather in far off places that are considered spiritual. Despite their advances most of their structures are made of wood. The often refer to their homeland as the Land of Flightless Birds.

Important Locations:
Remnis- Capital city, located along the coast and is a huge center of trade. Despite its importance they built no wall around it as they typically do not use siege warfare.
Highbred Temple- A temple in the north in which many highbred go to celebrate there religion and plan a return to the glory of flight.
Scarlet Temple- A place of worship in the south which the Scarlet worshippers go to celebrate their religion. It is rumored that they hide the legendary Shadogs here but that has never been proven.
Southern Farmlands- a collection of farms in the south that supplie most of the empire. Most are bean or rice farms but there are some grain farms mixed in.
Grassy Plains- Most of the forests in the Tabou homeland have been completely cut down and now all that is left is large flat expanses of land.

Map Color: green
Inhabitants: Essok - Hexapedal reptiles whose middle limbs are more delicate manipulators and whose other four are strong and tipped in sharp, broad claws. With large ears and catfish-like whiskers on their muzzles, their senses make up for the species' lack of eyes. They tend to walk on all fours, and converse with others on their hind legs. A thick, semi-prehensile tail lends well to balance and swimming.
Government Style: Matriarchal

Culture: Siding with the Hiigaran, the Essok sealed their place in history as the nightmare race. The evil spirits, who would come up from underneath to kill and kidnap. When the winter descended, the Essok walled themselves within the earth and hid away from the world. The cataclysmic upheval of the meteor strike reduced the ground-dwelling race to a single large clan, huddled in what remained of their mountains, greiving for the loss of their culture and the guilt on their shoulders for the ruin of the world. They are more secretive now then they were in the ancient days, dwelling underground and only venturing above for the utmost necesseties.

They've become monsters of near-legend, hidden away from the world. Travelers avoid the cluster of mountains as a place of horrors.

Welcome aboard! If you guys feel I should change the history for any reason feel free to tell me. I wanted to make a really epic back story that would wrap up loose ends and such so it got bigger then I originally wanted it.

Country Name: Fearannsioc-Dia (Translated, Land of the Ice Gods.)
Map Colour: Purple
Inhabitants: 'Sioc Garda'. A related subrace to Humans, they are slightly taller, thinner and show properties similar to Albinism in humans, such as reddened eyes, pale skin and whitened or bleach-blond hair.
Government Style: Democratic Monarchy

Culture: Formed from the surviving human tribes of the North, the Sioc Garda quickly united to survive after the great winter, and have slowly been building up a feudal culture, along with trading with several other nations from their port city of Sábháil. The current king does not have as much power as before, due to the newly integrated parliament handling the nation's resources. There have been rumours of parliamentary plans to take more power from the king, by taking control of military, but several politicians and advisors to the king have claimed that this could tip the small nation into civil war, the king maintaining his own power by wiping out parliament. The most well known city is in fact Sábháil, but the capital city of Saol is where most of the politics take place, and is indeed the home of King Sebastev III, and Crown Prince Hakim.

Map Colour: Red.

Inhabitants: Katarie. Bipedal amphibians, skin tones are generally slate, ranging from blue to grey and appears much like that of frogs. They have spines on their heads sloping backwards in the place of hair that tend to rise much like hackles when agitated. Three fingered hands are webbed and can be spread rather widely to assist in swimming. Highly flexible, some races have commented that the Katarie bones must be made of rubber. Eyes are often bright colours and have a luminescent quality in the dark.

Governmental structure: Tribal Theocracy. Since the days of the age of ice Katarie government has collapsed. Tribes are only united through their believe in the gods and the priests who serve them. Each tribe separately are lead by Warleaders but the priesthood have final authority.

Culture: Very militaristic since the thaw, the current population come from those that sought shelter with the Shadog. much of what happened before and during the Ice have faded to myth and some have spawned prophecies. Learning from what they considered a mistake of their past when they isolated themselves from the world in the time before the Ice, after the thaw the Katarie people made extensive searches of the world before settling on the island they now inhabit and have since made regular expeditions beyond their borders to meet other races and get sense of the world at large.

I'm gonna be more mature about this, yeah!

-Empire of Reicha-

Map Color: Gray

Inhabitants: Reichans, human in appearance, though much paler skin. Their eyes glow slightly orange, they have become more tolerant to normal air, but it feels light and makes them dizzy, so they wear filters filled with volcanic rocks on their backs rather than the full-on gas-tank/mask.

Wyverns, dragon-like reptilians, wings, 4 legs. They are much smaller than Dragons of legend, come in the colors Green, Red and lightblue. Mostly red, green is minor and blue is extremely rare.

Government Style: Empire

History: Reichans, during the time after the thaw, were thought of, in the legends, as an army rather than its own race. They were thought of as beings meant only for war, burning and destroying all they could find. Legions upon Legions of identical soldiers marching in perfect ranks.

Reicha was founded before the thaw, which was known as the Time of Solitude. Shortly after the Cataclysm, Reichskrieg was buried in an earthquake, and the inhabitance who survived were trapped in the areas of the lava tubes, closer to the surface. The Reichans changed, becoming less militant and fiery as they were cut off from the violent flames of the city. They made absolutely no technological advances throughout the Ice Age, and throughout the thaw. But once the world awakened, so did their lust for power. They built the city of Chernobyl on the side of a permanently active volcano, the heat and lava made them feel at home again. Once finished, the New Empire was established, they promised to make Reicha great once more. It is currently ruled by Emperor Ike Flameblade, who feels great guilt for people helping the Hiigarans slaughter the Draconians.

Culture: Reicha has technology second only to Lanthir, but it is unknown to them if they are still in existence. Reicha no longer uses sea-based ships, but uses airships similar to Lanthean onces, though not as graceful, filled with superheated air and powered only by the wind. Cannons have proven too heavy for Reichan Airship designs so they have been cast out of Reichan military service altogether for the time being, now using solely ballistea and catapults. Reichans have kept their signature Muskets, but crossbows and bows still outmatch them. Reichans are known to have great self-control on the outside, known for keeping their rage inside until a tactically sound moment it makes them hard to negotiate with. Reicha is also now a country which has open borders fro trade.

The Reichans have a minor ally race known as the wyverns, which, the Reichans think, are the last remaining dragon-race in the world. They treat them as equals, but the Wyverns, who worship the fire God Shiva and think that the Reichans are a people chosen by him, usually ask if they can serve as beasts of burden for their "lords". They have a side government which is a fuedal tribe. Reds are the dominant ones, usually controlling the other two's behavior around the Reichans. Greens are treated like minorities, as they are generally smaller, have green scales and have a more peaceful and friendly demeanor. Light Blues are rare, and it depends on their parents. If the parents are red, the light blue will be cast out either to the care of the Reichans or to be left to die, if they are green, light blues will be cherished and loved even more than if the hatchling were green.

Major Locales:

Chernobyl:
Capital city. A large city which has steaming lava rivers flowing through it. It is one of the few places where Reichans can walk the surface without filters 24/7. Volcanic Ash has made the 3 story townhouses of the city black with coatings of ash. The sky is also seemingly red. People from other places can survive here, but a prolonged stay may cause illness.

Major People:

Emperor Ike Flameblade:
Emperor of Reicha, no relation to Kolya. He is young, 28 years old and has the highest tolerance of oxygen in Reicha, able to breath both the fumes and the air. He is good friends with Xico, has a friendly personality and grieves a bit over his people's past mistakes. Ike took Xico into his care, juggling being a father as well as an Emperor. He is known as Flameblade for his long, two handed sword which is made of a diamond that glows like lava.

Xico:
Green Wyvern. He is just over half Ike's age, 15 years old and has a history of being overly curious. He became good friends with Ike when his reign had began, when he had snuck into the throne room to snag some of Ike's food, which had had excessive amounts of. Ike caught the little wyvern in the act and handed him over to the Wyvern Tribal Council. They sentenced him to death by tooth and claw, but Ike declared that the punishment was too severe, so they banished him from the nesting grounds at only 8 years old.
