All things have their end, even cycles guided by fate. Hyrule is gone, but so are the waters that covered the blessed land. New Hyrule has risen to replace the old and its people returned. We are a blessed people. But something is still wrong. In the far reaches of New Hyrule old evils are beginning to stir again. The Triforce is safe, but the taint of evil remains. I see or past and our present, but the future is obscured from me. What is the cause of these things I have felt and these images I have seen? Something lurks just out of my sight; something that I can only see if I could look behind my own eyes. This darkness is not of my world, but it is of my world at the same time. I fear for the future and for you. A terrible tragedy is looming and this time I fear we will fail to circumvent it. - Maldron, Sage of Truth to the King of New Hyrule Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Joined Destiny. This RP takes place in the land of New Hyrule roughly 200 years after the events of Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Oracle of Seasons/Ages. Hyrule has been reborn in the form of New Hyrule and things couldn’t be better for its residents. Freed from Ganon’s evil they have begun to recapture the power of the ancient hylians and create wonders that wouldn’t have been possible before. There are still monsters and other creatures that sometimes cause problems, but these are quickly taken care of by the hard working knights of Hyrule. In such an ideal place it’s hard to imagine that disaster is fast approaching. Sections of New Hyrule have been disappearing only to be replaced with places and people that seem familiar, but aren’t what’s supposed to be there. The Sages have looked into the matter and are convinced that this isn’t another twilight incident. Whatever is going on doesn’t change the fact that the monsters are getting more aggressive in preparation for something. I came up with the idea for this RP after I saw a retrospective on the Zelda series presented by gametrailers.com. It just made sense to me. If you want to know what I’m talking about, then try to find part six and you’ll see what I mean. As far as the rules go, it’s going to be more of the usual. No ubering, no character control, decent writing, and courtesy to your fellow RPers. If it exists in the Legend of Zelda series, I’ll allow it. Below is the character sheet for anyone interested. Just be sure to get approved by me before you post. I’ll start the main thread when we get a few interested people. Player: Name: Race: Age: Gender: Appearance: Weapons and gear: Abilities: Personality: Background: Player: Red Nail Name: Rasterok Race: Dragon Age: 43 Gender: Male Appearance: Rasterok looks like a normal dragon and is roughly the size of a grown horse. His scales are dark green and his underbelly and wing flaps are white with just a touch of green. He has two brown horns that jut out and up from the back of his head along with a crest that runs from his head to the base of his tail. His eyes are bright blue and disturbingly human like.Rasterok’s preferred mode of travel is flight, using majestic and graceful swoops and dives. His forelimbs are great wings that let his soar the skies of Hyrule when he needs some time away from his hole in the ground or when he needs to hunt. His powerful hind legs and sharp talons and teeth help him greatly in that respect. When he can’t take to the air, Rasterok is only as fast as a human and a little more cumbersome. He walks on all four legs by tucking his wing flaps tightly to his forelegs to keep them out of the way. Weapons and gear: The only weapons Rasterok has are his teeth, claws, fiery breath. When Rasterok is in the air he is a deadly and cunning predator that behaves much like an oversized bird of prey; he’ll dive, kill and ascend in one smooth motion. The moblins, however, knew exactly how dangerous Rasterok can be and chained him to several weights and an enchanted muzzle. The weights force Rasterok to trudge along on the ground. In this state all Rasterok can do is attack with his jaws and breathe fire when the leader of the moblins lets him. As far as other items, Rasterok has none. His rupees have been taken and the one treasure he owned, a rare wind element stone, was taken by the moblin leader. The element was Rasterok’s first big prize from raiding a wind temple in the southern foothills of Death Mountain. Abilities: Rasterok can breathe jets of flame from his mouth. He has yet to develop any other abilities or skills that other dragons seem to possess. Personality: Rasterok is a cruel bully. His whole life he’s had to scrape by using whatever means he had available to survive. He sees others as rivals not only for the food that he needs, but for the treasure he’s so fond of. The other dragons made sure to hit the smaller upstart for everything they could while he was growing up. All Rasterok ever knew was this kind of life, so it’s no surprise that he’s ended up the way he has. Now that he’s mostly grown the prospect of losing everything he’s fought so hard to obtain is completely infuriating. His only real joy in life now that he’s been captured is making the residents of Nakaya village as miserable as he is. Background: Rasterok broke free of his egg as the only survivor of a clutch of dragon eggs. His mother had long since been poached by hunters and knights from New Hyrule. A lone baby dragon has little chance of surviving in a world filled with monsters, but Rasterok persevered. Instinctively he sought out other dragons to learn from and be protected by them. This situation was mostly one sided with Rasterok acting as a lowly servant to his cruel masters. After he’d matured enough, Rasterok struck out on his own and carved out a nice little lair for himself near the treacherous Lost Woods. He would have continued the normal cycle of raiding, hunting, and sleeping if a stray tribe of moblins hadn’t found him one night. If he had been awake, Rasterok would have fought them off easily, but to wake up buried under a pile of thirty moblins was too much even for the young dragon. They chained him up and bought his muzzle from a dark wizard that the tribe had allied themselves to. Their new pet became an effective siege engine and the tribe grew bolder. They turned Rasterok’s lair into their new home and began to plan for an assault on the walls of New Hyrule itself. Right now they’ve set their sights on a prosperous village named Nakaya. They'll sack it and every other town on the way to their prize.

Yay for Zelda rps (why are there so few of them v_v)
Player: Erk Name:Illumin Race:Poe Age:19 Gender:male Appearance: Hovering above the ground. Wears a black cloak. Slightly larger than other poes. He is always carrying around a large black umbrella to hide the painful rays of the sun from his body and face. His eyes are white flames. Weapons and gear:Wields a Large scythe that seems to bleed off shadows when drawn, and is hidden within his cloak when not in use. The black cloak. He also is carrying a large tome on his body that is hung over his "shoulder" by a chain with alternating black and white links. Abilities:Illumin is a spellcaster as well as a fighter who uses his large sythe to keep enemies at bay while casting spells. Illumin imbues his scythe with light or dark magic to attack his enemies. When being on the offense he tends to use either his scythe or throws fire or other things. When on the defensive, he will sometimes attempt, but sometimes succeed, in creating redeads or skeletons. When not dabbling in Necromancy he will try to create shields over himself. Personality:Illumin for the most part is alone, as most people do not like or understand poes. Beyond that Illumin is often busy studying his spellbook trying to decipher the script, and sometimes deciphering it wrong, it was due to one such incident that he became as he is now. Illumin is cautious and paranoid, but in the mist of battle is a calm, unnerved combatant. Once someone gets past his paranoia, and gains his friendship, he tends to hug that person a lot. Background: Illumin is an outcast among poe society as he has somehow, due to a spellcasting accident, been binded to light powers making him to be constantly visible during the day. Light still hurt him, so he decided to carry an umbrella with him wherever he went. He traveled throughout new Hyrule looking for a place to haunt or study or be that was bereft of the poes who might try to kill him. Eventually he came upon an old wizened man who became his first friend and mentor in fighting. The old man was once a brave knight of hyrule who trained many of the now famous knights. The old man was humored by the poe who was living in his attic and instead of trying to kill it, trained Illumin in the ways of combat. This old man, having become Illumin's first true friend found himself constantly being guarded or hugged by the poe hiding under the umbrella. One day the old man revealed to Illumin the reason that he trained Illumin, the reason had something to do with the Temple of time, and he told Illumin that the answers were in the temple, but only Illumin could find out what fate had planned for him..... rp starts here |

Ok, main thread up.
Erk, Xavier, you're both approved. Xavier, your character seems a little over powered though. I'll allow it and see how you RP with him, but if he becomes a problem we might have to change some things. Erk, your character seems to be balanced by his light aversion and since this is the light world everything should be fine.

Are you worrying ill use it like the C & C Ion cannon, which you can fire it and drag the beam across an entire army. (cheap piece of junk) Cause i thought of it more like the Halo 3 Spartan Laser (No giant explosion when it hits) more like a piercing rather than purely destructive weapon.

Player: Colohue
Name: Giro Moss Race: Hylian Age: 27 Gender: Male Appearance: Giro is a tall, unarmoured man with long black hair in a ponytail and green eyes. His face is youthful and childlike, along with his build. His arms are of average strength, though his legs are somewhat more muscled. He keeps his blade strapped to his back with leather and wears a cloak, long turned grey from use. Underneath he is currently wearing a shirt, previously white but rather stained now and long, somewhat baggy trousers. Weapons and gear: He uses a typical Hylian sword, somewhat braced at the hilt to withstand heavy blows from larger enemies. He carries no shield, but wears two metal gauntlets on his wrists which he uses to deflect enemy blades and to generally hit people with. Abilities: His abilities are purely physical. He has a knack for woodwork and metalwork and briefly studied to be a translator. He also has a habit of seeming at ease in any company, though he tends to actually be more tense than he seems. Personality: Fairly selfish and conceited. Giro has good posture and always stands up straight. He tends not to cause fights, but tends not to back down. He rarely jokes and tends to surprise people when he does. He is honest and takes pride in whatever work he does. He seems to relax easily, but never loses his stature. Background: As a youth he dreamed of being a hero, however, his brief stint in the Hylian army proved to him that he could not handle authority very well. Since then he has been wandering, looking for a purpose. He is afraid to come too near the capital for fear of being recognised as an outcast and a failure.
