While taking a walk earlier today I had an idea for a role play pop into my head and after eating away at my brain I have finally decided to write up the idea and fish for some people who might be interested in joining me.


Short Summery: Boy A and Girl B have been next door neighbors since before they were actually born. Their families moved next to each other after each found out they were expecting a child and both bought their residing homes around the same time. Since then the two families have been close and their children even closer. Growing up fast both of them began to grow and as such began to grow apart. Both are popular with the opposite sex and have dated others. Though they have stared to leave different lives they still stay close.

The only thing that has never changed is that the two always walk home together. Since primary school Boy A was told to protect Girl B by her father and he took that to heart. Even after they both started to have social lives in middle school they would wait until the other was ready before leaving and going home together. Also both characters have a younger sibling. Boy A has a younger sister while Girl B has a younger brother. Since they now go to middle school they join the two when they walk past the school towards home. The majority of this role play will be all the characters walking home.


This role play will be middle of the road casual. That means I would like each post to contain about 200-300 words on average. I believe that to be fair and balanced as it gives you plenty of room to write while hopefully not making everyone else have to read whole essays.

This is a romantic COMEDY. This means that the drama should be light. As such character sheets with horrible sob stories will be flat out rejected. I cannot tell you how upset I get when I read about another orphaned or abused little girl.

This role play will end with a classic movie ending moment. The last post for this role play will be when Boy A and Girl B walking home from school while holding hands. The romance between the two should be realistic but a slight movie moment here and there is fine.

Name:

Info for this section: Pretty basic really, Boy A's family name is Coal so his little sister would have the same last name. Girl B's family name is up in the air since I am not really sure what I want it to be.

Age:

Info for this section: Boy A and Girl B should be around 18 years old. They are both seniors in high school. The siblings should be around 12 or 13. They do not have to be the same age but no more than a year apart please.

Appearance:

Info for this section: For this part I am willing to accept a picture of any type. However, this section must have both parts. That means I require a picture as well as a short paragraph describing them.

Personality:

Info for this section: Since I don't like making people have to write whole paragraphs about how their character acts. Instead I would like everyone to make a small list of some of your characters personality traits.

History:

Info for this section: Because everyone is so close most of the history is already "known" to the others. If you would like maybe talk about a few small stories about your character and short bio about their life outside the four main characters.

One silly thing about your character:

Info for this section: I want SILLY! It seems to escape most people that romantic comedies should have some comedy in it. So to make sure we get some of that I want everyone to write about one silly thing about their character.

Name: Alex Coal

Age: 18

Appearance:

Standing at about 5’11” and weighing a little under 145 Alex doesn’t really look all that intimidating. His muscles are toned but like a swimmers body instead of a weight lifters. He seems to have “happy” eyes or “lazy” eyes meaning they just resonate with his mode which usually swings between those two. To combat his massive hunger he works out every day but some days it seems he doesn’t really get into it and ends up only doing one or two laps around a track or pool.

Personality Traits: Loyal, Care free, Energetic, Cheerful, Talented, Lazy, and courageous.

History: The oldest of two Alex grew up with a great family and a wonderful friend. Like brushing his teeth and eating breakfast he always made sure to see Aileen at least once a day and hopefully play with her. When they were young this would mean play dates where they would play tag, hide and seek, and if he was talked into it they would play house.

As he grew up and started going to school Alex started to see himself as a man and he knew this after Aileen's dad asked him to start walking his daughter to school starting in the 5th grade. Since then he has taken his job very seriously which to many seems to be just about the only thing he really commits too. Walking her two and from school Alex would never miss a day even if he was sick.

When he entered middle school Alex started to get his first growth spurt which quickly made him very popular with the opposite sex. Soon enough he was being asked out by some of the most popular girls in school. At first Alex would just say no and soon a rumor started that he was dating Aileen but after he told someone that they were just childhood friends the flood gates seemed to open.

Dating on and off with girls from school Alex annoyed some by not being about to commit to them. Mostly they would just get tired of him always saying he had to walk Aileen home after school which usually meant that he wouldn’t spend that much time with them. So every few months it would end up with the girl braking up with him. This never really phased Alex and he would normally be his smiling happy self the next day. This of course only upset the girl more. Still he was popular and normally the girls would get over the whole thing. He is famous for never having a ugly break up.

When Alex entered high school he started to have a few more things added to his schedule. The first was soccer which was something he started to enjoy during middle school PE class but hadn’t decided until he was required to join a club forcing him into the sports club. The addition of his natural talent only increased his popularity. Now a senior he has been called the silent king of the school since just about everyone at the school knows him.

One silly thing: Since he was a little boy Alex has been somewhat obsessed with martial arts film, corny and classic alike. It is somewhat dangerous to watch these movies with him or meet up with him after since he almost always looks for someone to mess around with and try some of the moves he saw in the film.

Other: Taking on a part time job at the local community pool Alex quickly became the most popular lifeguard. Since he taught both Aileen, her little brother, and his little sister how to swim when he was younger his popularity only increased after he started to also teach kids how to swim.

Name: Aileen White

Age: 18

Appearance:

Personality: Extremely Outgoing and Proud, Aileen is also very Smart. Somewhat of a perfectionist and an overachiever, Aileen is also control-freak and very clumsy. Aileen is very kind and always thinking of others, but that does nothing to prevent her from being extremely strict.

History: Ever since she could remember, Alex and Aileen have been best friends. Like breathing and eating, meeting Alex at least once a day has become a mandatory thing for her. In her younger years, every time she saw him, she would be able to convince him of playing her favorite games: Tag, Hide-and-Seek, and (occasionally) House.

As soon as they hit 5th grade, Alex started walking Aileen to school. At first, she thought he was just worried without her, but it turned out to be the other way around; She would not go to school without him. She never missed school, though, because Alex was always there with her no matter how badly damaged / ill his body was.

Upon entering middle school, Aileen was alone for the first few weeks because she was unable to be by Alex for a few classes, but a few students became he friends dragged her out of her dependence for Alex. After that, many male students ( and even a few female students ) asked her out numerous times. At first, she had no idea what to do and continued postponing her answer. Eventually, she agreed to everyone who asked her out.

Aileen was, and still is, considered the perfect student; brilliant at obtaining perfect grades, masterful at many sports, cute and beautiful enough to be a model. However, Aileen has never once had a successful boyfriend. Even though she agrees to every person who asks her out, hardly any ever passed the first date, for she would always act bored and distant in her first dates. She says she is testing everyone interested in her to see if there are any sparks, but so far she has had none, which makes people suspicious if that is the real reason.

Entering High school, Aileen wanted to do what everyone said she would be able to do perfectly: Be a class president. Within a few weeks, she was voted, not as just a "class" president, but the student council president with hardly any opposition. This came with a larger schedule, containing more work and, of course, more confessions. This time, though, she slowly started saying no. At first it was just a no to the person she did not like the most, but the chance of being rejected by Aileen gradually started to grow. Now, she never accepts anyone's confessions.

One silly thing about your character: Although adult animals seem to ignore her no matter what, young animals (kittens, cubs, puppies, etc.) absolutely hate her existence. She has known this for as long as she can remember, yet she still tries to be her nicest and always makes the mistake of picking one up or petting it. She usually ends up with a new bite mark on her hand or a shower and new shirt.

Other: Aileen does many odd jobs, changing when she gets tired of the one she is in now, which is usually around a week. She also hates very sweet things, but loves sour or spicy food.
